I have a neutral view point on abortions and I believe that abortions are highly personal and very private decision for anyone to make. I believe it is never easy for any woman to make a choice about having an abortion. Abortion is a private and personal choice because it is a woman body. Women have the control and choice to do what they want and feel is best for them and their body at that particular moment. No one should be able to tell a woman what she can’t do with her body because it violates her right to choice. Another reason why I believe that abortions are highly personal and private is because many women who become pregnant are simply unable to care for a child or may not want to care for a new child and they do not want to raise
Abortion has been an issue of heated debate in the United States for numerous years. Legislation has ruled it legal to perform an abortion on any gestational age of an embryo or fetus. Some people agree with the law and consider themselves pro-choice. Others are completely against abortion and are pro-life. In addition to these two groups is another group who support abortion in the first half of pregnancy, but believe abortion should be banned for the second half.
Abortion through a Feminist Ethical Perspective Abortion is one of the many controversial topics among many women, some argue to be “pro-life” and others argue to be “pro-choice.” I will be applying the Feminist Ethical Theory to the moral issue of abortion. According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Feminist Ethics refers to the attempt to revise, reformulate, or rethink traditional ethics to the extent it depreciates or devalues women’s moral experience. To demonstrate how abortion is ethical through a feminist ethical approach, we will be discussing three main points, the feminist perspective on abortion, birth control, and the feminist perspective of the fetus.

The issue of abortion is very complex since it raises many issues. People not only have to consider the legal aspect of abortion, but also its medical, ethical, social, biological, and religious aspects, which are still widely debated. First of all, when considering abortion, it is imperative to make sure the mother is safe, which is why people advocate medical procedures over surgical procedures due to the former having less health risks. The drug mifepristone is highly effective and is commonly used to block the production of the hormone that is responsible for proper fetal development and is usually used up to sixty-three days after the beginning of the last menstrual period. In regards to ethical issues, there are the two extremes, the pro-life supporters and the pro-choice supporters, and the individuals with various moderate views justifying abortion depending on the status of the fetus, the rights of both the woman and the fetus,
There are many common pregnancy alternatives, but most often the resulting decision is abortion because it is effortless. Abortion is endings a women’s pregnancy by removing or forcing a fetus or embryo from the mother’s womb before it is able to survive on its own. Not all abortions are purposely done some are spontaneous like when a women that has a miscarriage. Rather abortion is done purposely or naturally it is a worldwide complication as to it being wrong or right. Abortion is an ethical issue that will be analyzed according to a personal worldview and Christian worldview. Ethical thinking will be examined by value-based decisions that address abortion from the perspective of a Christian worldview and comparing it to a personal assumption by addressing ethical dilemma, core beliefs, resolution, evaluation, and comparison.
One of the most controversial topics in politics is abortion. In class, we talked about the different type of abortions there are and the many different opinions that people may have about them. We also discussed the many reasons why a woman may choose to have an abortion. And surprisingly, what I thought I knew about them was completely wrong. Thus since learning about the reasons why one may get an abortion, I have changed my opinion on the topic and I was curious to find out what my mom’s opinion may be because abortions were not something that we had discussed before. Also, I thought it would be interesting to see if our opinions differed dramatically since most of our values come from our parents. Overall, my mother was in support of
Abortion is the ending of pregnancy before birth and is morally wrong. An abortion results in the death of an embryo or a fetus. Abortion destroys the lives of helpless, innocent children and is illegal in many countries. By aborting these unborn infants, humans are hurting themselves; they are not allowing themselves to meet these new identities and unique personalities. Abortion is very simply wrong. Everyone is raised knowing the difference between right and wrong. Murder is wrong so why isn’t abortion? People argue that it is not murder since the fetus being destroyed is not living, breathing and moving. Why is it that if an infant is destroyed a month before the birth, there is no problem, but if
Abortion is one of the most personal, widely discussed, and controversial topics in American culture today. In most cases, people on both sides of the argument take worthy and moral positions. Who can blame someone who wishes to prevent the termination of a teen pregnancy to save the life of an unborn child? On the other hand, who can blame anyone who advocates the soon-to-be mother's right to make such a personal, heartbreaking choice? No matter what she chooses to do, should anyone have the legal right to force her to bear an unwanted child? Most people in the US are pro-choice, and believe that abortion should be a legal, confidential decision that only a woman can make for herself. However, some are against the idea of
Abortion is a subject that numerous people have strong opinions about; some believe that it is a form of murder and should be banned, yet others believe that the decision should be for the woman herself to make. In my eyes, the choice to abort or not abort is the woman’s, not the public’s. However, many men disagree with pro-choice.
Abortion divides many Americans, it is one of the many controversial issue in today’s society. There are two major viewpoints that receive the most attention. One point of view is pro-life which is the belief women should not abort a human life. On the other side, is pro-choice which is the belief women may decide whether to carry a baby to full term or abort it. Abortion is known as the act of removing a human embryo or fetus from the uterus of a pregnant woman prior to the completion of the full term of pregnancy. There are very strong opinions for and against this issue, but no one can deny the vast gray area of abortion. Not everyone falls into the specific camp of pro-life or pro-choice. Many Americans find a comfort level in the gray area where there are restrictions, but abortion is not illegal. 1 A person’s stance on the situation is often determined by how they view the fetus: a part of the mother’s body or as a human being.
Whether a person would choose to obtain an abortion for themselves, does not provide them for the right to make a decision about what another individual would choose to do. Personally I am a Pro-choice supporter and support any woman who deems that an abortion is the right decision based on her individual circumstances. The ethical dilemma of abortion will not be disappearing anytime soon, because of the strong emotions of
The reason I believe so strongly about the abortion issue is because sometimes circumstances beyond a woman’s control present themselves. Women who are raped, who carry a disease, who are too young to be mothers, who are drug addicts and women who are too old to have children should all be able to obtain an abortion. Not only is the choice a good one for the potential mother but it is also a good choice for the unborn child. Before sixteen weeks the unborn child is not even considered a fetus. That is why I believe
When it comes to abortion, everyone has a slightly different view. Whether one believes that no one, or everyone, should be allowed to get an abortion, the same question comes into play: Is abortion ethical? In addition, when does a human life actually start? Without concrete facts, we can only do so much with those questions, which is why this is such a controversial topic. We need to consider all the facts and information available. For example, whether or not a fetus feels pain, how old the fetus is, and what condition the pregnant woman is in. The main argument comes down to pro-life versus pro-choice. After doing extensive research, I have come to agree with the side of pro-choice, meaning that
Abortion is one of the most disputable issues discussed all over the world today. Several decades ago abortion was considered only a social issue, but now situation has changed and it has also a political and ethical issue attached to it as well. Arguments against pro- choice are typically biased; overlook the fact that the legalization of it benefits the health of women, and deny women the right to do what they want with their bodies. Thus, the main aim of this paper is to discuss the pro-choice view on abortion while analyzing the opinions of other authors in this paper.
Being a female in today’s society, I personally do not counsel abortion but it should available for women who want it. Abortions can be very unfortunate, but women should have the right to receive one despite others views about it. Actually, studies show that only 52 percent say they know someone who has had an abortion (Traister). There are far bigger issues to worry about than whether if a woman wants to keep her child or not. Essentially, nobody should be telling anybody how to live their life. I do not agree with extremists against abortions because they harshly judge women who get abortions, calling them “killers”, or telling them they will go to hell. Everyone makes mistakes and we are all not perfect. Additionally, there can be many reasons behind why a woman wants an abortion such as the fear of transmitting STD’s, living in an abusive house or dangerous area, birth defects, being raped, or not being
