After looking back on the success we had from creating Coachella, Rick and I decided to try to replicate it this summer in New York City. When we visited, we noticed that the street musicians in the city are extremely talented, and we feel that they are immensely overlooked und underappreciated. We want to incorporate the talent in the city in our music festival. We scouted out countless probable locations where we could hold the festival, but the top two came out to be the Brooklyn Bridge and the New York Subway. We need to make our decision soon about which location to hold the event because summer is coming up quickly. We have lots of work to do!
Criteria:
Ability to Attract a Crowd: In addition, the crowd is an essential part of the music festival. The size of the crowds is important because the purpose of the music festival is for the street musicians to get exposure and for the others to view their talent. Without large crowds, the musicians will not get any exposure, and the city will not appreciate their talent. Engagement from the crowd is also important because an attentive audience who is enjoying the music. Without the ability to attract and accommodate a crowd, the

Rick commented on the fact that betwixt the arrival of the trains, the music could be amplified throughout the station, but it would be muted by the ruckus coaxed by the incoming trains. Therefore, the musicians need to play in short intervals. The scheduling of the songs around the train schedule may pose a challenge to our team, but I think it is manageable. I hope that that we will not experience the frequent breakdowns and spotty arrival times as described by Yona Zeldis McDonough. Also, we must factor in the echo of the voices of the train riders into the overall noise level of the subway station. All in all, this puts the the New York Subway at a 5 and an overall score of a
The hidden purpose of the subway system which Jurgis helps to construct is to break the teamsters’ union. Because Jurgis got hit by one of the rail freight cars, he broke his arm and lost his job.
The New York City Subway System has an extremely rich and detailed history that dates to the late nineteenth century. Before the system that the public currently takes advantage of when they visit New York City, there were an extensive amount of public transportation options that were available to the general public. For example, horse and carriages, omnibuses, and trolley systems were all used as a means of transportation throughout the nineteenth century. Once the idea for a subway system to be built was introduced, most people did not believe that it was possible. However, they were soon proven wrong after Alfred E. Beach secretly built the first subway system that was used in New York City. Once people saw that subterranean travel was a viable means of transportation, it did not take long until the subway system that is used today to come along. The New York City subway system revolutionized the way the general public traveled throughout the city, and inspired other growing cities to build subterranean travel systems of their own.
Have you seen those weird music festival T-shirts that people wear and wonder what someone could possibly want to wear that for? While they’re sometimes meant to catch attention of people so they may want to look up the festival, it also serves as a reminder for many amazing memories for the two or three-day event. For a long time now music has changed people’s lives in many ways. It has brought people to fame and lifted many out of depressions. But, to those who haven’t experienced a festival, or even live music in general, you have been missing out an amazing social experience like no other. From the kings of festivals like Woodstock or Coachella to the lesser known ones like Rock on the Range (Hard rock/metal based) and Day for Night (variety) there are hundreds to pick from. One of my favorites is Carolina Rebellion which takes place right in this state.
Riding the subway to a New York City resident is nothing new. It’s something that many of us New Yorkers have to use as transportation because living in a crowded city with limited space to drive is not very ideal. For the people who do drive, they do so for personal comfort and convenience. But for us commuters, having to not look for parking and worry about traffic takes up less of our time. On the other hand we experience train delays and disturbances in personal space. Nonetheless, the pros outweigh the cons and using the subway has become a part of our daily routines for many of us New Yorkers. Marc Auge states that, “If he draws himself into the field of his ethnological inquiry, it is no less fitting for his readers to broaden the scope of appreciation of the work for riders.” With that in mind, I observed the connections with my experience riding the subway in a city integrated with many different peoples and cultures.
Roy Nathanson and his Sotto Voice group held concert on 1/26 in the atrium of Guttman Community College. Their performance portrayed the musical culture of New York and their relationship with city. Performing music is their passion and they enjoy the culture in the city. The performance represented New York City that day. Natahnson’s words in the performance represented several characteristics of New York City.
I walked by the garden where I usually took my nap. Everything was green this time of year, and the pond in the middle had bugs and things sitting around it. Perhaps a midday snack would help me sleep. I took one single step and suddenly there was a flash, dust sprayed in my face, and I heard a laugh. When the dust settled a young hare stood in front of me. He leaned over me, when he was done laughing, and grinned. “Hello, old one!” He mocked.
The festival which already receives funding from major companies, can seek out new music focused company sponsorship's that will provide aid for the costs of the concerts. The last opportunity for the festival includes the role it can provide in educating the local youth about local cultural music, theater, and arts. Many may grow up to have a strong appreciation towards their own communities’ festival.

Living in America is a fantasy for a lot of people, but living in New York City is something even better, and more magical than any fantasy.
Initial Preview: Throughout this speech you will learn about the birth and development of the modern music festival, how they have transformed, and why they have.
Every time I hear this song it makes me long to leave all of my responsibilities and head off to the city of dreams. A trip to New York has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I have always wanted to visit the place of tall buildings, history, and where culture is intertwined with its people. I have wanted to live the fast pace life of a New Yorker, where I could stand outside and see, smell, and taste all of the experiences that this city has to offer. I have been building and building this ideal image in my mind for so long. If I ever get to New York, will I be disappointed by the city that never sleeps? The city that is a part of almost every movie I watch. Can New York live up to the expectations I have
are hundreds of airports just like this one all around the world. I cannot be intimate with a location that is constantly repeated because it does not exist as an individual place. The structure of the airport does not require individuality in order to function. Its production of repetition and homogeneity is the basis for its efficiency worldwide because it creates an order through which people's movements can be controlled smoothly.” Those places have become spaces of transition, junkspace. They usually don’t carry notions of history of cultures. They don’t contain within themselves enough spirit of quality spaces. People move in and out without experiencing them as meaningful moments to be inhabited. People come to the airport in order to leave. They pass through a series of hall ways in such a hasty pace with anxieties to get to final destinations.
Going to a concert is an experience incomparable to any other. Here it is, the moment, every concert goer has been waiting for, the artist coming onto the stage. Hearts begin to race as the music builds each fleeting second before the artist comes out. Smoke fills the dark stage illuminated by the band's tour video playing. Then, in the center of the stage, doors begin to open revealing four singing boys. Crying and screaming
Outside events have been a growing area of the events industry in recent times, the PRS is the copyright collection society of the Uk they claim “Bristol live music census published this month by Bucks New University found that 50% of the city’s music venues were affected by development, noise or planning issues”(PRS), due to this threat the opportunity of moving from inside music venue events to outside events.
There has been a constant rise in the division of outdoor music festivals over the past 10 years with about 71 per cent rise between 2003 and 2007 (Anderton 2009, pp.39-40). Mintel reports that there has been a persistent extension in the live music spectators stimulated by an evolution of supply sector in terms of greater number of events, sites and innovation over the past decade. These are accompanied by a large number of boutique festivals which are designed to meet specific consumer demands and excellency in customer experience. Even though new events have been organised, there are a part of them which were called off over the 3 year span from 2003 to 2006 due to various factors like weather, sales and marketing sector, licencing and finances, altering policies, security and absence of sponsorships (Getz, 2002; Anderton, 2009).
