I have been a lucky recipient of The O'Brate Scholarship for two years now. I am Incredibly appreciative of the difference The O'Brate Scholarship has made in my life. The generosity of The O'Brate Scholarship is one of the primary reason that I have been able to finance and continue my education and experience the transformative experience that has been my sophomore year at Kansas State. My second year of University has been nothing short of spectacular and formidable. This year I have really strove to push myself out of my comfort zone. This was in due part because of The O'Brate Foundation
One of the biggest encouragement that I received from The O'Brate Foundation was perusing part-time work while I attended college. Not knowing whether
Receiving this scholarship will boost my self-esteem knowing that I was responsible for creating a foundation that brings me closer to my career goal. This scholarship will also reduce my stress over the tuition cost. It will also eases my burden of the future student
I was awarded the Drexel Liberty Scholarship in 2015, but today, while reflecting on my college career, I am more appreciative of your donation than ever before. The past couple of months have not been the easiest for my family and I, but thanks to your donation, my financial standing at Drexel was not an additional burden. Furthermore, this scholarship has given me the privilege to advanced my education in my dream school and enjoy the perks of being a Drexel student, such as co-op.
I am honored to be one of the recipients of the Lawrence J. Sonneman and Laurelle A. Sonneman Endowed Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to your generous support I am the first in my family to attend college.
Now that I’ve covered why I financially need this scholarship, let me explain why I have earned it. This past year has been a whirlwind. I ended my junior year with 34 credit hours, 20 of which were earned second
The Anna Dale Dalton Competitive Scholarship Award on behalf of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated would invigorate my determination to change the community around me. I always strive to serve my community in four tiers. The first tier, Scott County High School, is the most immediate to me. In the past year I have established a library of resources solely dedicated to Advanced Placement, SAT, and ACT review materials that any student has access to. I have done this because Scott County High School has the largest Advanced Placement Program in the state of Kentucky, one that I have helped nurture for the past three years through my position as President of Advanced Placement Advisory Council. When the school board refused to allow the
As upcoming high school seniors, many such as myself, desire scholarships in order to alleviate the financial burden that attending a university can bring. Though this considerable and generous scholarship prize money will be used to further my education at Texas A&M University, my main wish is to bring pride and satisfaction to my family. As a first generation student, I am humbled by the opportunity of obtaining an education in America. Since my parents were migrants from Vietnam and Hong Kong, a successful life here was unheard of many years before. Financial strains do occasionally plague our lives, however, we have not forgotten the strenuous hard work and sacrifice that my parents have conquered in order to put their two daughters through
I would like to express my thanks to the Buster Bynum Education Scholarship for allowing me the opportunity for financial assistance through your scholarship program. Being the second child in my family to attend college, I know that college can be expensive. At the age of seventeen, I am the youngest of six children. I learned from my family that they will give me all the love in the world, but when it comes to money I have to earn it. For the past three years I’ve earned my gas and spending money working a part-time job laying sod for Mid-South Enterprises LLC. I am confident that my parents will help as much as they possibly can financially, but with the assistance from scholarships my out of pocket tuition cost can be less.
First off, one characteristic that is important to both this organization and myself is scholarship. Although, it may seem easy to make and maintain passing grades, it is the added dedication that I possess that I hope you’ll be able to see. For example, during my freshman year of high school I was able to have a GPA of 3.8. Though most people would be proud of having this GPA I was not, I knew that I could do better and I was determined to make sure that I did. Therefore,
What this scholarship would provide for me is not just a viable boost in self-confidence and euphoric relief from the stress of student loans, but also an official change in direction. A change that will not only allow me to fulfill my desires of being different,
“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” –Henry David Thoreau. This quote demonstrates everything I wish to achieve while attending the University of Tennessee at Martin. Through this school and the amazing music program, I plan to become an even better leader, teacher, student, and trombone player. Having my work ethic, planning, and determination I have made it this far and I do not plan to slow down any time soon. Due to my accomplishments in my past and the limitless opportunities that lie ahead of me and that I strive for, I would feel honored to receive the EJ Eaton Scholarship. With this scholarship, a financial weight would be lifted off me and my family’s shoulders, and with the scholarship, I would
This scholarship award has improved my experience at school over the past year by alleviating the stress and worry that would have been put on me had I not been able to afford to go to school. Due to the help that I was given through this scholarship last year, I was also given a boost of confidence in my academic abilities and was named to the Dean’s list for both fall 2014, as well as spring 2015.In the upcoming academic school year I will be starting my clinical classes. I am very excited for these because they will help me determine what field I want to focus on in nursing. However, for my sophomore year I have decided to live off grounds in an apartment with two other girls so I may have to pick up a part-time job. I feel that this is will give me experience in the adult world. My future goals are to continue with the nursing program and then to enlist in the
I reflect scholarship in my life by not only pursuing educational experiences that directly relate to my long-term career goal, but
I’ve stayed home innumerable nights this year working hard from the bus stop to the time I go to bed because I strive to go the extra mile. I have twelve years of school ahead of me, and I am not afraid of the hurdles it will bring because I know how to work hard for the long haul. I will apply this strength in the university as well. With the same skill, I’ve pushed through the adversities in altruism, the primal reason as to why I deserve this scholarship. As an altruist, I have put hundreds of hours of community service into the City of Howell, impacting the lives of children and adults each day. As an award-winning Vice President of a volunteer board for teenagers, we plan and carry out events to get students off the streets and into our welcoming teen center in downtown Howell. At times, our teen center faced closure and disapproval from government officials, but I pulled my board’s representatives over each hurdle and into our new building. I plan on continuing my charitable efforts around the globe, and I would like to make that mark on the world with this
Thank you for being willing to help me in this process. I had mentioned just before leaving on a call that I had a couple more questions. Rather than call you, here they are: Where do you see the future of the fire district in the area of mental health/human relations? Where do you see me in that future plan and should I being doing anything differently to get there?
As the cost of education increases, many students search for assistance to help cover that cost. That form of assistance could come from burdensome financial aid or a scholarship that provides the student with an education free from debt. That’s why I am writing you today Mr. Alan Hall on behalf of the Student Scholarship Committee, bellow we have outlined the (1) the benefits to the student, (2) the benefits to you, and (3) how you can take action to help.
