DATE & TIME: Friday, December 16, 2016, 2016. Dispatch time was approximately 11:25 p.m. VENUE: Sheridan Rd. and Potter Rd. / Clayton Township / Genesee County / State of Michigan. INFORMATION: On the above date and time, I, Officer D. Stone was dispatched to Sheridan Rd. and Potter Rd. for a vehicle in the ditch. When on scene there was beige Chevrolet Impala in the ditch on the west side of the road. The vehicle was backwards facing south in the ditch near the intersection of Cronk Rd. and Sheridan. The vehicle in the ditch obstructed the north bound view of Sheridan Rd. from Cronk Rd. The driver stated he was heading north on Sheridan before losing control and going into the ditch. CONTACT WITH THE DRIVER DERRICK THEOTIS BOX: I made contact with Mr. Box the driver of the beige Chevrolet Impala he was sitting behind the wheel of the vehicle. I asked him what happen, he stated that he was heading home north on Sheridan Rd. and lost control of his vehicle. Box for his Michigan driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance. Mr. Box gave me a Michigan identification card, a temporary instruction permit; he could not produce his vehicle registration or proof of insurance. I asked Mr. Box several times for his proof of insurance and he never could produce it. SOS showed that he did not have insurance. While talking with Mr. Box I noticed that the tire on the driver’s side was severely warn from the outside edge to almost the middle. I checked the tire on the passenger side and found the tire was completely without any tread and could see the wear bars showing through. I checked the rear tires and they looked fine.
