The author is trying to show us as the reader what the character has experienced and how he has learned so much just from the sport basketball. In the text he shows us how much someone has experienced and how it has been a life changing experience for him. He talks about the different experiences he has had with basketball and how it has changed him and made him the person he is today. The experiences came with him and his surroundings in learning to play basketball. With all his basketball experiences, the character in the text wants to reach a certain goal at the end after all the experience he has received with the sport basketball itself.

As the wind blew over Gwynedd Mercy Academy’s field hockey field two teams met in the center to say a prayer and meet each other before the game, then both teams went back to their bench. If you knew me, you would know that I live with my mom, dad, my older sister Taylor, and my dog Cooper. My parents both work at Penn State, my mom is the assistant field hockey coach at Penn State, and my dad is a graphic designer who designs all of the sports posters for PSU. We are all very sporty people, growing up my sister and I tried almost every sport. I have played tee ball, soccer, field hockey, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse and track. Although I may have tried multiple sports, I only stuck with two, basketball and field hockey. I love playing both, but if I had to chose, field hockey would be my favorite. Since my mom is a field hockey coach, I grew up watching and playing it, when Taylor and I were younger, we went to every game no matter how far away they were.

Christine, when planning her drills for her floor hockey unit for sixth grade should keep in mind a few things to help her drills run more smoothly. One of the things that she should consider in her planning is to think of ultimately what she wants her students to learn or take away from her drills. Skating has impacted me in many positive ways. I have learned skills that I will be able to use through out the rest of my life, from being on a Synchronized skating team. Three that have really stood out to me are: Responsibility, Going with the Flow, and Time Management.
