Most of us have experienced some form of bad behavior that was directed at us. We can all relate to young children being bullied in school and on playgrounds as it brings back memories of our own experiences with unsavory characters. Unfortunately, experiences of incivility cannot be relegated to childhood, because as employees many are faced with a work environment that impedes success and job satisfaction, due to inappropriate and uncivil behavior by peers and supervisors.
There are a variety of areas of conflict within my organization. In my opinion the conflicting areas are as follows lack of communication, leadership skills, management skills, and the lack of productive workers. As a results of these conflicting areas many of the employees within my organization are experiencing a lot of stress and are at risk of burning out. In order to reduce the level of stress within the workplace many of the productive workers have determined that it is more appropriate to do the bare minimum and are becoming less productive. Those who have burned out no longer have strong work ethic, instead their professional work ethic has become weak and pretty miniscule. How I work through these conflicts are pretty simple I take

Conflict Theory is a sociological theory that views society as a competition for limited resources rather than a system of equilibrium like some sociological theories claim. Instead of saying that everyone is acting the general interest of society, Conflict Theory claims that the only interests that people are concerned with in society are themselves. Due to the fact that resources are limited, organizations and people who are able to get ahold of some of this limited resources will continue to use them in order to stay in power. However, social problems begin to arise when the groups with more resources than others become dominant. The dominant groups will always find a way to stay in power because they are not keen on risking this power

I am a very understanding and compromising person. I understand that in life things happens. My conflict management style would be compromising. If I plan a vacation months in advance, airline paid, hotel and other expenses paid, and one of my coworker has an emergency and needs me to cover his or her shift. The only way I cover their shift is they have to do a written agreement to reimburse my hotel deposit, and airline ticket fare that loss due to a no show because of their emergency. I would approach the manager that he or she has agrees to write a written agreement to reimburse my funds that I lost due to no show and covering a coworkers shift due to an emergency. I try to compromise in any giving situation, for example I must need someone
Conflict is when two or more people do not agree (Schermerhorn, 2014, p. 384). There are five conflict management styles, including avoidance, accommodation, competition, compromise, and collaboration. Avoidance denies that there is a conflict problem. They do not chose a side to agree with, as they stay neutral between both parties (Schermerhorn, 2014, p. 386). The conflict management style, accommodation, lowers the problem and seeks an agreement for the people involved (Schermerhorn, 2014, p. 387). The competition style only takes into consideration one side of the disagreement and disregards the other people involved (Schermerhorn, 2014, p. 386). The compromise management style, understands both sides of the situation, and comes to an agreement that all people approve on. Although, everyone involved will lose something to gain another (Schermerhorn, 2014, pp. 386-387). During the collaborative approach one party gives the other party their understanding of the situation and some possible solutions (Collaborative approach to problem solving, 2017). Each party should listen and ask questions throughout the presentation until every person has spoken. (Collaborative approach to problem solving, 2017). One person should not be singled out and solely blamed for the problem. Finally, everyone comes to an agreement of a solution that will work the best to fix their conflict (Collaborative approach to problem solving, 2017).

Conflict is an occurrence in virtually any organization, regardless of how large or small it may be. It is exceedingly difficult to get people to agree with one another about everything all the time, especially when they are competing for the same resources (Tsang, 2012, p. 84). This difficult is naturally exacerbated when there are stratifications between people, which frequently occurs in organizations. Organizations may have different categories of employers such as those in sale, marketing, finance, human resources, etc. The three main views of conflict which also play a significant part in the resolving of conflict are the traditional, the human relations, and interactionist views. There are points of similarities and differences between all of these views.
