I have chosen the Orion constellation, or the hunter constellation as some call it. I chose this constellation because it is a beautiful constellation. Orion is the brightest and most beautiful of the winter constellations. Some of its stars, including Betelgeuse and Rigel, are among the brightest stars. While it was named after the hunter in Greek mythology it is definitely not stealthy. Orion is one of the most prominent and recognizable constellations in the sky and can be seen throughout the world. It is located on the celestial equator.
According to mythology, Orion proclaimed himself the greatest hunter in the world, to the dismay of Hera, wife of Zeus. Hera had a scorpion kill Orion and Zeus put him into the sky as a constellation.
My chosen constellation is Gemini, a constellation of the Zodiac. I chose it because both me and my father, who had an important role in my interest for Astronomy, are Gemini. The constellation of Gemini, which means "twins" in Latin, was discovered by Ptolemy in the second century A.D. and it has 85 stars. The Alpha star is Pollux and the Beta star is Castor, which are the names of the two twin brothers that are associated with Gemini.
of Hera, the wife of Zeus. She had a scorpion kill him, so Zeus put Orion in the sky as a
I chose the Andromeda constellation because Greek mythology is very interesting to me, and I love the story behind this constellation. Andromeda is most prominent during autumn evenings in the Northern Hemisphere.
My favorite constellation is the Capricornus constellation. I don't know much about constellations, so this is my favorite mainly because in astrology (and I'm aware it's different from astronomy) my sign is Capricorn. Capricornus is supposed to create the image of a goat with the tail of a fish. This is because Capricorn has this form, and so the constellation is based off of the astrological zodiac.
I have chosen Cassiopeia as my favorite constellation. The reason why i chose this constellation is firstly because I find it very easy to find in the sky due to its M or W shape ( depending on the season ), and secondly, because it is one of the first constellation on which I made a research on it's creation myth. Cassiopeia is still to this day one of the 88 recognized constellations by the International Atrsonomical Union.
I have chosen the constellation Orion. I have loved this giant hunter in our skies since I was a child of about 6 or 7 years old. I first noticed this particular group of stars when my elder little brother was born. I can recall that night as if it were last night. It was a cold night in the middle of October, I was leaving the hospital with my father that night, asking about my new brother and hoping he would be able to come home soon. I recall vividly looking up and wanting to ask the gods and the stars themselves to look after my new little brother and make him well enough, and noticed this beautiful, bright group of stars and asking my father what it was.he said it was Orion,a great hunter and if i wanted to know more about it he could help
My favorite constellation is Andromeda. Not only is this constellation prominent during my favorite season, fall, the story of Andromeda is fascinating. Andromeda is one of the 88 modern constellations and one of 48 listed by the 2nd century Greco-Roman astronomer Ptolemy. Andromeda is one of the largest constellations having an area of 722 square degrees. A notable feature for Andromeda would be the deep-sky object Andromeda galaxy which is the closest spiral galaxy to the Milky Way.
The myth behind it is of Greek Origin. The infant Orion was given as a gift to a poor shepard who had unknowingly shown kindness and hospitality to the two Gods Zeus and Poseidon and in return they gifted him with the child. The shepard taught young Orion many skills leading him to become a magnificent hunter ( thus giving the alias of the Hunter.) When Orion was a man,
I have chosen the Pegasus constellation because of its amazing and complex shape. The Pegasus constellation is located in the northern hemisphere and is one of the largest constellations in the universe. Pegasus is the seventh largest constellation and it occupies 1121 square degrees. You can see it at latitudes between +90º and -60º. It is located in the forth quadrant of the northern hemisphere. It has 9 stars in its constellation and its largest and brightest star is Enif. It is bordered by Andromeda to the North and East, Lacerta to the North, Cygnus to the Northwest, Vulpecula, Delphinus, and Equuleus to the West, Aquarius to the South and Pisces to the South and East.
The constellation of choice is Taurus because I am a Taurus and therefor wanted to learn more about the constellation and myself through it. The Word "Taurus" is Latin for "The Bull" and the constellation itself is located in the northern hemispheres winter sky. It has been around since The Bronze Age, making it one of the oldest constellations. It has had great agricultural influence and has been told about in myths of Romans, Greeks, and many more. It has 2 of the closest Open Clusters to Earth and holds the red star Aldebaran.
Scorpius contains the brightest stars in the sky. The myth is that to the ancient Greeks, the constellation Scorpius was the image of a scorpion. The constellation was related to the death of the hunter Orion. There are several different stories about Orion's death. According to one story, Orion wanted to kill all the earth's wild animals. However, the earth goddess Gaia
I choose the constellation "Gemini the twins". I choose this constellation because I think it's pretty interesting to learn about why did they put that name to those star's and the past. It's pretty cool for me to learn this too because my sign is Geminis and I want to now the significant of the constellation.
The myth behind the constellation is a Greek one, involving the famous Greek hero Heracles. The god Zeus had an affair with a Greek Queen, producing Heracles, and this made Zeus's wife, Hera, understandably angry. She swore to kill Heracles as punishment for Zeus's betrayal.
There are many myths about the creation of the Gemini constellation-Hebrew, Chinese, Roman and more but in this essay I would like to tell the Greek myth. One night, Zeus, King of the gods came to visit Leda-Queen of Sparta in the form of a
My favourite constellation is Pictor, also known as "The Painter" or "The Painter's Easel." I chose this constellation because art is something that interests me and since Pictor has something to do with art, as it could be symbolic inspiration to painters all over the magical and muggle world. It helps me by inspiring me that one day i could be a painter as long as i put in the effort, like the stars in the constellation put in the effort to burn brightly every day. Pictor is a minor, faint constellation located in the Southern Celestial Hemisphere. Pictor is located between Canopus and the Large Magellanic Cloud. It's name is a shortened version - or abbreviation if you want to be posh - for the old name Equuleus Pictoris. Pictor is latin
