Gary worked at SEC after completed his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering for the last 14 years and is a respected and talented project engineer. He accepted the position of Project Manager on the Orion Shield Project that was offered to him by Henry Larsen, director of engineering. During the preliminary testing, Gary identified a problem area where the design would not function within the technical specifications stated of between -65 degrees F to 145 degrees F. He tried many approach but was unable to get the design material to operate above 130 degree F. Concerned about the inability of the design to operate with the proposal’s specifications, Gary met with Henry Larsen a week before final proposal due. Henry Larsen advised Gary
Ethics should always be the base of any engineering project. There are some instances where people, like Jerry Mason, become self-interested and forget that at the core of engineering, lies the responsibility to act with the public’s welfare in mind, above all else. The Challenger incident shows us how Jerry Mason acts contrary to the standards that the public expects professionals engineers to stand by. His sole comment to Bob Lund, “to take off your engineering hat and put on your management hat,” speaks greatly about what the Challenger meant to him. Jerry Mason viewed the launch as a business transaction that would allow him and Morton-Thiokol to benefit greatly at the midst of a contract renewal. Success brings advancement in managerial positions, but in this
Given three months to turn the plant around, Alex turns to Jonah, his old college physics professor who has become a manufacturing consultant, and enlists his help. Jonah has a unique and potentially risky approach to addressing the problems at the plant. First, he takes what can be a complicated

Thank you for contacting me! I am extremely familiar with DATE and IPB in relation to DCGS-A. While stationed at Fort Bliss, I participated in the Army Warfighter Assessment -- a 30 day, multi-national training event that utilized the DATE 2.0 scenario. During this exercise, we exclusively used DCGS-A to log, assess, and deliver actionable intelligence to higher and lower echelons. I led a team in completing Brigade-level mission analysis products (PMESII-PT & ASCOPE factors, key people, enemy composition, enemy capabilities, and situation templates). I became familiar with the tactics, techniques, and procedures described and, for example, regularly overlayed doctrinal templates on 2D maps to contribute to situation templates. In creating MCOOs, I drew from motivations and assessments made from the DATE manual, and noted key terrain and possible areas of particular conflict. By
By definition, a shield is a broad piece of material used as protection against blows (Oxford Dictionary http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/shield). In Homer’s heroic epic The Illiad translated by Robert Fagles, however, a shield’s purpose extends far beyond its protective nature. Homer uses shields to characterize their owners and to indirectly reveal his ideology of war.
The Hawkeye Initiative is a project created to demonstrate and emphasize the way women are portrayed in various images today. The Hawkeye Initiative project takes many comic book images of women, and replaces the woman in the image with Hawkeye, a male, doing the exact same pose as the woman. Once we see the male doing the “sexy” pose, it begins to look absurd, foolish, and ridiculous. However, when women do these poses, they seem natural, accepted, and almost expected. The goal of this project is to demonstrate that women are viewed entirely different than men, and if we started to view both genders the same, we would notice that the way women are viewed in today’s society really is quite humorous.
Matching employees with appropriate abilities for each job, providing training in standard methods, and supporting workers by planning and eliminating interruptions is a clear representation of Taylor’s Scientific Management practice. Giving employees the opportunity to excel makes them proud, thus further increasing their performance, responsibility, integrity and ethics. This process also helps them to identify and work towards the common goal. The value of the company’s performance becomes the higher purpose that drives the entire company to succeed. As a result, in December 2007, Northrop Grumman Corporation was awarded the prestigious Ron Brown Award for Corporate Leadership, the only Presidential award recognizing companies for outstanding achievement in employee and community relations. Although, the company is made out of many divisions they work very closely together. All the departments are interdependent of one another. Northrop is a product of interaction of the parts – its departments and its participants. The collective effort and mutual reliance of this company’s members is in according with the Systems Theory and was awarded recently with the Defense Science and Technology Group Eureka Prize for Outstanding Science for Safeguarding

When considering the situation the Orion Controls faces, however, I should reconsider my decision. Orion has established its reputation in leading-edge technology, product reliability, customer relations and willingness to design customized products. For such reputation, Avion Chemicals approached to Orion and asked them to develop a new valve
BAL developed capabilities in the areas of space and communications, site management and the upgrade and maintenance of military aircraft and equipment. As BAL grew, it faced difficult decisions how to improve or upgrade its procurement system and process to meet its customers’ requirement, especially its major customer the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
o There is only a 10% chance the entire project will fail; therefore, Orion should take the risk in developing the product.
