Over spring break I went to Colorado. The best thing we did in Colorado was we went to cave of the winds. While there I went on a adventure course which was called a wind walker it was over a cliff and had a bunch of ropes and beams that you could walk on, and also you had a harness hooked on to you so if you slipped you wouldn't fall.
The time that we moved to Westcliffe, Colorado. I always remember the times when my parents talked about coming out to Colorado. They said it was a place where they always felt good, especially my mom. Most of the time when we were back there, I remember that my mom was sick in bed, because of the heat and humidity. It made her really sick, but when she came out here, she always felt much better. That was one of the main reasons, why we moved here, because my dad knew that mom would feel better here in higher elevation. So when the day came, I was glad we moved somewhere else.
During Thanksgiving Break this year, I went to Flagstaff, Arizona. That was the best memory because I can’t choose one specific one! :) I had so much fun in Arizona, and this is what I did.
A character that displays many aspects of being a mockingbird is Boo Radley. Boo is a man who initially in the story does not come out of his house due to his fear of being persecuted. He is seen as the town mystery and some people do not even believe he exists. On page 44, two of the the main characters who are children named Jem and Scout are walking home from school when they start finding a gifts inside a tree knot hole outside of the Radley place. The children assume the gifts are from Boo and their assumptions are later proven correct. The act of Boo giving the children gifts makes him appear as he cares for the children. In like manner, Boo exhibits the kindness of a mockingbird is on page 95. While watching Miss Maudie’s house fire someone wraps a blanket around Scout, but she does not realise until she gets back home. She guesses Boo Radley was the one who did it and again her guess was proven correct. This act of kindness models his selflessness. Lastly, throughout the story Boo is described as
This summer I went on a trip to pigeon forge tennessee and did a bunch of activities while I was there.Even though we did a lot of activities my favorite one was white water rafting which we did towards the end of the trip.It was the highlight of my trip and i'm going to tell you all about it.
Colorado, known for the Rocky Mountains, is a gorgeous place to be. The rectangular state rich with wildlife, covers 104,185 square miles. In the black timber, it is dark and silent, not a sound to be heard. The thick pine trees block out most of the sunlight, only to see about seventy-five yards. The terrain is brutal, almost straight up and down, but the elk love it because it is a challenge for hunters to see them. As I walk my favorite ridgeline in the black timber, I watch for the slightest movement and listen for the smallest crack. Watching thirteen-lined ground squirrels run around and chase each other can be humorous when they fall down from trees. My adrenaline pumps and heart races at a million miles per hour as I wait patiently
The year was 1999 when we moved to Colorado from New Mexico. I was just a year old. My father recalls searching restlessly day and night to help support me and my mother. Coming to a new state was difficult; moving from basement to basement was their only option. Fortunately, a little after our arrival, my father found a job working construction and we were able to get a small apartment.Although small, it was still fulfilling in every way. Money was scarce at the time, as well as food. As he talks, he mentions a weekend night when he and I were spending some time together in the living room. I was a year old, and I was hungry. I decided to go to the kitchen and find some milk. When I made it to the kitchen, I opened the fridge. My father says,
the skis hook together to form a board. The bindings then slide into a different
While I was a kid my family and I used to go on bike rides all the time to anywhere you could think of. We would go boating everyday in the summer. We would ski, wakeboard, go tubing and many more. Go tubing was one of the funniest memories I have boating because the thrill you get is unbeatable trying to hold on for dear life. Anothering thing we did as a family was go on vacation everywhere. The road trips were always fun because we would bring our dog turbo. The one trip that will never be forgotten is North Carolina. We go there every year with family friends and it will be a trip on go on with my kids.
I was about six years old, in Cancun, Mexico for Spring Break in the Month of March. My family and I were staying at a huge resort filled with many fun things to do.We had been waiting for this family trip for months; I was excited to get out of the cold Minnesota weather and into tropical heat. We were in our hotel room getting ready for dinner with my two sisters, my mom and dad. I felt the heat all over my body, like I had been standing directly in front of the sun, So I went to open the hotel window to feel the cool breeze and to see the ocean view. As I walked to open the window my mom said “Morgan be careful, the wind is so strong if you open the hotel door, close the window because the door will slam shut; but I only thought about myself and I responded with a sassy comment, “Okay Mom.”
During the summer I went to South Dakota for a national tumbling meet. In South Dakota I also went to Mt. Rushmore, a car museum/scavenger hunt, and the tumbling meet.
My trip to the Grand Canyon was the best experience I ever had so far in my life. My grandparents from Korea came along with us. Even though I saw them last year it was still an enjoyable moment that I had. Grand Canyon is located in Arizona so what our family did was fly to Las Vegas early in the morning and arrive in Nevada around 9 o’clock am. Driving to Grand Canyon was also five hours with heavy traffic. Driving and stopping every hour was hard to do but at the end it was all worth it. It was good that I had couple electronic devices and my family to keep me in company.
I was born in Ghana, moved to Virginia when I was four and lived there for twelve years. In Virginia, I moved and switched schools about six times by the time I was in sixth grade. As a result I had problems socially, but academically I managed to keep good grades. At the end of sixth grade, I moved to Colorado. When I got to Colorado, for seventh grade I went to a Catholic school in Aurora, Colorado, and eighth grade a charter school in Denver. I was accepted to Regis Jesuit High School for ninth grade, but wasn’t able to attend due to financial reasons. So I went to a school in Broomfield, Colorado for better education opportunities; it was at a rural neighborhood compared to the charter school in Denver. Going to Broomfield was an interesting experience; I lived in Aurora at the time, so I would have to drive fifty minutes to get to school.
In the state of colorado the normal 10 year old is stressed about grades or if their crush likes them, not if their dad is going to jail or not. Just imagine seeing your parents put into a cop car and driven away while you watch. For some odd reason I still feel like it's my fault. I never really knew how much I need and love my parents. Without them I don’t know what i’d do or where i’d be in life.
Selfish by definition is to be only concerned with one's self for their own gain, be it by action or by motive. If one goes to the doctors because they are sick or just for a health checkup, they will remind you that it is good to take time for yourself. In this very fast paced world we are living in sometimes we just forget about us.
“Nothing is Hopeless; We must hope for everything.” This quote is made by Mrs.Who in Euripides. If I had to choose to watch or read the story again, I would choose the Book. My opinion on why the book is better is because the tessering concept easier to understand, the twins were in the book and not the movie and the beasts were not in the movie and in the book.
