Last week Thursday on the orthopedic clinic was a slow but eye opening experience. When I got to the clinic at 8AM, after I was introduced to some of the nurses there, I was immediately assigned to a Medical Assistant (MA) that I had shadow for half of the day. The MA shows me around the clinical and explained her role and responsibility in the clinic setting. During the first several hours, and MA and I were quite busy rooming the patient. Because the MA want me to see how to do thoroughly assessment on a new patient, the MA did a thoroughly assessment and examinations on the first patient we saw. During the assessment, the MA also explained some of the medical procedures to the patient. She did a set of vitals on the patient, particular on new patient, such as blood pressure, height, and weight. We had a total of 15 patients during the morning.
t is our goal to accommodate provider requests to add patients on to be seen. However, please refrain from scheduling patients from 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm. If you receive a requests from a provider to schedule patients during those hours, please contact me or Leigh Tuttle for approval. We need to ensure that all staff are taken lunch and also ensure that we have staff availability to assist the provider during those hours.

Training- Training methods for those interested in pursuing a coding career include college-based programs that contain coursework in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, health information management, pathophysiology, pharmacology, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS level II, and CPT coding, and reimbursement methodologies. Many college programs also require students to complete a non paid internship (e.g., 240 hours) at a health care facility. Professional associations (e.g., the American Health Information Management
Within the case, The Carbondale Clinic, it is apparent that a scheduling problem exists which has then resulted in patients being unsatisfied with the amount of time they must wait to be seen for his or her scheduled appointment with the physician. It is also evident that physicians prefer to have a full schedule without taking into consideration the possibility of emergencies that may arise throughout the day that will contribute to patients having to wait even longer. It is pertinent that the manager sits down with the staff to determine what is the most logical solution to help resolve the scheduling problem, taking into consideration what the physicians want along with ensuring patient satisfaction.
Prior to the 1970’s, ambulances were staffed as basic life support (BLS) type units. They would transfer people on a basic level of transport performing “non invasive” interventions. The people who staffed this units were not called EMT’s at this time however were called Ambulance Attendants. They were severed with little medical training and only performed routine interventions. In 1966 there was an article called “The Accidental Death and Disability Report” also called “White Paper”. In this report The National Academy of Sciences Did studies on trauma and shock. This project was a federally funded report of their research which came to the conclusion that both the public and government were "insensitive to the magnitude
Like most things in life becoming a paramedic is a process. To be a paramedic he/she must build on their education as a Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). When an EMT advances to Paramedic their education allows them to understand how a scene is operated, make use of their basic skill set, and manage stressful situations better. When an EMT begins their career they quickly learn a scene does not always operate the way the book says. Due to this reason, it is important that the EMT familiarize them self with real-life scene operations before they are placed in charge of patient care.
Students attend class twice weekly for 1 1/2 hours a day, Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30-10:45.

Medical Student Clinical Rotations – I worked in diverse outpatient specialty clinics with a team of health care professionals obtaining a detail patient medical and health histories, executing physical examinations, relating the finds to supervising physician and participating in a discussion about lab and image tests as well as best treatment options. Furthermore, I was responsible for
As a woman on the brink of becoming a grandmother for the first time and working on my Paramedic license, I do not want to become a statistic and suffer from a back injury that so many first responders suffer from these days. There are so many variables to staying healthy such as eating right, staying fit, and learning proper mechanics for lifting heavy loads. When taking these variables into account, how can someone in my profession improve the quality of our work environment to insure a better percentage for a lesser chance of injury? Will better equipment improve these variables as well? Do the costs for better equipment outweigh the cost of recovery? It is my belief that not only health, fitness, and education will reduce our chance for injury but better, more efficient, equipment will also assist in longer, lasting careers.
Throughout the second half of the semester, I have not made any significant changes to my pre-clinical routine. I still prepare and gather my supplies the evening beforehand, and I try to avoid during schoolwork in order to facilitate restful sleep. However, upon arriving to the unit, I have developed a familiarity with the staff and environment that has reduced my stress and anxiety levels, allowing me to focus more attention on my patient assignment for the day. Although we do not have assigned preceptors, I have developed a mentoring relationship with two of the nurses on the unit and will work with those staff members if available. As we have gotten to know and trust one another, we do not have to spend the first part of our shift familiarizing ourselves,
Paramedic’s are important people because they are the ones that give medical care while away from the hospital. The need for paramedic’s started back in the 1970s. In a report said in 1965 more people were dying in accidents than in the Korean War. After President Richard Nixon reviewed the effect of of having pre-hospital medical care would help save lives in the event of an accident with needed medical care.
This coursework requires me to explain about the concept of ABC, how it’s applied in casualty management as well as the unconscious patient, the causes of unconsciousness and many others.
