The Government is the butt of many jokes. Every week there is a new parody of what is going on. It has gotten to the point where even books have insight on the government. In the Outsiders by S.E Hinton there are two different classes of people feuding and the subject of self-defense. These two classes can be represented as the Democrats vs Republican. In the book the Socs are the republicans and the greasers are the democrats. The Democrats were the first established party out of the two, starting in1824 (Democrat vs Republican). Their symbol is the donkey with a background of blue. The Great Andrew Jackson started party with the philosophy Progressivism and Modern Liberalism (Comapre Democratic Part vs Republican Party). Progressivism being on the lookout and on a continuous path towards progress. Whether it be technology or human attitudes. Then Modern Liberalism is focused on equality through all social classes. They have forty-four seats in the senate, and one hundred and eighty-eight in the House of Representatives (Democrat vs …show more content…
Little Pony Boy Curtis a greaser and his gang verse the Soc. In the story greasers are mistreated and pounded for not holding the same stature as the Soc. The Socs are the rich kids that can do things and not get touched. They have the “I do what I want and you can’t do anything about it” type money. Pony Boy lives with his two bother Darry and Soda Pop. He has friends named Dallas “Dally” Winston, Two-Bit, and Johnny. The story kicks off with Pony leaving theater trying to find something to do for that day. That night he, Dally, and Johnny snuck into the drive-in. There they met two girls Cherri and Marca. Dally went over to harass them, trying to get some play. Cherri was not falling for his game and told him to “Get lost, hood” (Hinton). This caused Johnny and Pony Boy to get him stop. Dally went off to get sodas to let the girls “cool off”
Smart and Mysterious. Those are the two words that I would use to describe Ponyboy Curtis. Ponyboy is a brother to Sodapop and Darryl , together they are the Curtis brothers. During Ponyboy’s childhood, he became fine friends with the other kids in and around his neighbourhood. All the boys, including Ponyboys older brothers made a gang labeled the greasers. The term “Greaser” originated from the boys using grease to slick back their long hair. The Greaser’s include Johnny, who is Ponyboys best friend, Dallas, Darry , Sodapop, Two-bit, Steve and of course Ponyboy who is now fourteen years old.The Socs are the other bunch of youngsters on the opposite side of town who repeatedly jump the greasers because they believe the greasers are better off. Sadly Ponyboy’s parents died in a car crash so that influences his sensitivity and characteristics, especially since he is the youngest.
Terrified and confused, the two greasers hurry to find Dally, the one person the think can help them. Dally sends them with a gun and some money to an abandoned church near Windrixvill, where they hide out for a week, they cut their hair to disguise their appearances. After a week, dally comes to check on them, and says that since bob died, the Socs and the greasers have become worse then ever, a giant rumble is to be held the next night to settle the matters once and for all. Cherry feels responsible for the whole problem, acted as a spy for the greasers. Johnny surprises Dally by declaring his intention to go back to Tulsa and turn himself in. Dally drives them back, but as they leave, the notice that the church has caught on fire and it had a large group of schoolchildren inside. Ponyboy and Johnny rush inside the church to save the children. Just when they get the last child through the window, the roof caves in and Ponyboy blacks out again.
“The modern Democratic Party is the descendant of the Democratic-Republican Party, an early-nineteenth-century political organization led by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Also known as the Jeffersonian Republican Party, the Democratic-Republican Party began as an antifederalist group, opposed to strong, centralized government. The party was officially established at a national nominating convention in 1832. It dropped the Republican portion of its name in 1840.” As stated in the free dictionary’s definition of the democratic party. The Democrat and Republican parties have differences as well as similarities such as their views on government decisions.
In the United States of America, the political party system is pivotal to the function of our nation. The political party system in our society today is separated between the Democrats and the Republicans. Although political parties do possess uncertainties their advantages outweigh their drawbacks in America. The United States of America is made up of two basic political parties, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. A political party is a group of individuals who share similar interest and they work together with one another to construct and execute policies. The Democratic Party was established in 1828, by Andrew Jackson. The Democratic Party was created based on a belief in an unyielding government and an advocacy of social and
Political parties in America have been prevalent since the Federalist Party was founded by Alexander Hamilton, and the Democratic-Republican party was founded by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, in the 1790s ("Compare U.S. Political Parties"). These parties were developed from sharp differences in opinion. During this time period, there were opposing views on how the government should be organized (Flanders). In short, the Federalist Party wanted a strong federal government and the Democratic-Republican Party believed that states’ rights would be weakened in result of a strong federal government ("Compare U.S. Political Parties"). They also had differing views on how strict the Constitution should be, the economy and foreign policy. As the country grew, so did its pressing issues and citizen’s opinions on these issues. Consequently, the names of these political parties eventually changed to the Republican Party and the Democratic Party as more people began to band together to for their common belief ("Compare U.S. Political Parties").
America’s first Democratic President was Andrew Jackson in 1828. Once he took office, Jackson began to tear down Alexander Hamilton’s -- a Federalist -- Bank of the United States and all other Federalist foundations. In the eyes of many citizens, President Jackson was starting to be seen as a dictator instead of a president. Although Jackson’s actions can be controversial, he had chosen the donkey to “symbolize his working class roots,” and since then, the donkey has always been the representative of the Democratic party (Party PowerPoint, 2012). As result of Jackson becoming president, the Whig Party was formed under Henry Clay and Daniel Webster. The Whig Party was made to oppose the Jacksonian Period. Basically, anything Jackson had said or done, the Whig Party would support the complete opposite.
The Democratic Party is the oldest political party in the United States, who the founders are James Madison and Thomas Jefferson which was around 1828. As you may know, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are running on the Democratic side for president of 2016. Bernie and Clinton both have better ways to make our country a better place, but I think that Bernie Sanders should become the next president of United States on the Democracy side.
The Democrat and the Republican Party are the two major political parties in the United States. Presidents have almost always been selected from one of these parties, and these parties take up the majority of Congress. This is where the similarity between the two parties ends. The Democrats have typically taken more liberal views, while the Republicans tend to be more conservative. This leads to a lot of disagreement on the subject of legislature.
The Democratic Party origin from the anti-federalist faction around the time of America’s independence from British rule. These factions was organized into the Democratic - Republican Party by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and other influential people of the federalist in the 1792. Where the Republican Party is a much newer then the Democratic Party. It was founded 1854 by anti-slavery expansion activists and modernizers, the Republican Party rose to prominence with the election of Abraham Lincoln he was the first republican president. The more tradition approach is to see republican as historically conservative meaning they resist change and want to conserve what they see good about American while Democrats are progressive. Meaning they want to see progress.
The Democratic Party is a major contemporary political party. It was founded in 1828 which made it one of the most oldest active parties. This party was created by the two presidents named James Madison and Thomas Jefferson in the year 1791. The party was made to stand in opposition against the Federalist Party recent elections. The party was also made to prevent the united states from becoming a monarchy government. In the year 1801, the president Thomas Jefferson declared to vote into office to make the party to power. The Democratic Party was very popular but the Whigs Party received more wealth through their access and also funding influences. The Democratic members passed something that was called the Compromise of 1850 which was bills that were creating to stop war over slavery. Since the Democratic party was created they won two elections, one in 1840 and the other one in 1848. Today we are millions of supporters, strong, fighting for progress and helping elect Democrats across the country to state government, Congress, and the White House.
So Pony was out on the curb with johnny and they were smoking and hanging around. They went to sleep and then woke up 3 hours. Then pony started to walk home and when he got home he saw the door. He tried to be as quiet as possible and he woke up darry and asked him where he had been and then ¨Darry Slapped Me right Across the face¨. After that pony ran right out the door to johnny.
Both of these political parties advocate for the Democracy, although he meaning of equality is at heart, it is not always exercised. For instance a person who is a Democrat believes in abortion and that there should be planned pregnancy and substances that can help women to not become pregnant; while republicans believe in the term pro-life which means if a woman becomes pregnant and doesn’t want the child and commits the act of abortion the women is labeled a murderer. This is due to the old ways of the United States and beliefs
A political party is a group of people coming together for the same political and social agenda. I think the basic ideologies and the stand of the party on various modern issues concerning general Americans are the things that sets Democratic and Republication Parties apart. Determining which political party is better is subjective rather than objective and choosing a political party is a matter of personal preference. The ideologies and stands of parties on various issues, which benefit the majority of American citizens is better. I think Democratic Party is better for America because of their stand on gun control, gay marriage and universal health care. The principles of Democratic Party reflect the psyche of the modern Americans.
When the Democratic and Republican parties first began, their platforms were not quite the same as they are today. In fact, they did not even exist until 1791, when George Washington was president. They began as one single party, know as the Democratic-Republican Party founded by James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. The Democratic-Republican Party believed in a loose, decentralized, democratic government. It was created to stand up against the Federalists party who supported and pushed through the ratification of the United States Constitution. The Democratic-Republican party came into power because the people of the United States could not thrive if the government was too powerful and had control over everything. Later on in 1824, the Democrat-Republican party split into the Republican and Democratic Party, after the election of John Quincy
Democrats is a party that believes in unity and equal opportunity for everyone in the nation. They believe that the individual can never be stronger than the whole. Everyone working together is when the nation is at its best. They want equal opportunity for everyone. The issues that Democrats focus include everyone getting the same educational experience, everyone having the fair amount of access to health care, more jobs available, and getting paid the same amount for the same position regardless of gender, ethnicity and so on. They also want to protect the environment and preserve it. Republicans, on the other hand, are different from Democrats. They believe that there should not be a strong government involvement in the lives of people because smaller governments can be work better. They also believe the military needs to be strong so they can better protect this nation and those veterans who fight for our nation should be well taken care of. They believe healthcare choices should be in the hands of each individual and there should be no failure in the educational system. Republicans also believe that marriage should stay traditional and
