The Evolution of Music by Pentatonix was a great combination of songs from the eleventh century to 2013. The musical abilities of the members of this quintet are outstanding. The members of the group picked out some of the most well known songs from each of the musical eras. It is awesome that these singers can fit so many great songs into just four minutes. Starting in the eleventh century, the members of the quintet start with a gregorian chant. They quickly change pace to a very renaissance piece that was very jubilant. Quickly followed by Johann Sebastian Bach’s Symphony Number Five. These three pieces make up about 800 years of music in their evolution in music and I believe that they should have put a few more pieces from in between.
Music is a major part of my life. I love to listen to all different types any chance I can get. On Friday, August 28th, I began to analyze the music around me. I woke up to my roommate’s alarm, which was an instrumental version of a popular pop/rock/folk song, “Home” by Phillip Phillips. I know that this piece is classified in the pop/rock/folk range because it popular music that is played on different radio stations that are classified as either, pop, pop/rock, rock/folk. There appear to be multiple instruments played in the piece, yet an acoustic guitar is used most regularly throughout the song. I have heard the song before, but I have never heard the instrumental version. The song had upbeat tempo (Andante), but it was still a pleasant
The first and opening piece was a Roman Carnival Overture, Op. 9, by Hector Berlioz. In major tonality, classical piece started with vivace statement, and then slow introduction progressed later in allegro. It featured an independent solo that was performed with an English horn and gradually changed dynamics throughout the classical movement.
We can usually listen to the music in various scenes in life. But we don't often just concentrated on listening. The same was the case with me before. Especially, I was ignorant in classical music. But now I like listening to orchestra concert from the front row seats. It is a quite wonderful experience. Since my children start learning how to play the violin, I came to listen to classical music. After I could a little understand artistic features of classical music, I listened to it with rapt attention. I especially came to like Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. I was listening it through only my computer, but on the whole I was satisfied.

Last week Middle Tennessee State University ( MTSU) invited a professional Conjunto musician players. As a history class students we had to go and see their performance because Conjunto music is a traditional Mexican music. We had a lot of fun listening to their music and personally I would love to go again and listen to this music because this music is take you away back to the old Mexican music. Therefore, while you listening to this music, you feel like this music is talking to your soul.

With its extensive history, the role of music in our lives is very unlikely to ever lose its importance. Its presence in every culture has kept music relevant for centuries and will continue to do so despite any lack of sales or interest in other forms of entertainment. Music has always existed; just because it is easier to obtain doesn’t mean it is any less valuble.
were merely inspired by the earlier music and used the idea to write their own compositions. One
Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992) played a significant part in the evolution of twentieth-century music, influencing a number of other composers with his innovative compositional techniques. The Quartet for the End of Time, is not one of Messiaen’s typical works due to the circumstances in which it was composed (his main outputs were organ, orchestral and choral works), but it marks the start of the significant use of some of these techniques.
It was performed by the CSU Graduate Brass Quintet, consisting of Nikolas Valinsky, Matthew Chanlynn, Emelie Pfaff, William Gamache, and Heather Ewer. While Valinsky and Chanlynn played the trumpet, Pfaff played the horn, Gamache the trombone and Ewer tuba. This quartet accomplished a wonderful work by the different melodies, pitches and dynamics. While the tuba was heard more in the background due to its low pitch, the most significant instruments were the trumpets. Not only did they provide the highest pitch but it was also heard as the main instrument because of their rhythm. Together, this group of brass instruments created a dense rhythm by providing the audience with several layers of music on top of each-other. Altogether, I enjoyed this piece the most. It made me feel happy, excited and joyful.
The first piece that was played was Mozart’s Symphony No.40. This is a beautiful piece of music. There are 38 players in the orchestra for this piece. And they all played
Pentatonic is a Greek word where Penta means five and tonic means tone . Thus it is a five tone scale which forms an octave with five different tones. Bobby McFerrin remarks at the end of the video by pointing at the audience that " regardless of where I am , the audience get there ". I cannot stop admiring the fact that such theory exercises truly condition us to respond to each step which defines a new tone and melody. I watched the video yet again and I found myself subconsciously mingling with the melody . How beautifully Bobby McFerrin has been able to add effect to his music is evident with how well synchronized the chorus seemed to be with every step and tone . I guess this is what Bobby McFerrin is trying to reveal when he searches
There were a total of four music pieces performed. They were “Overture from the Singspiel”, “Concerto in e minor”, “Concerto on b minor, opus 104”, and “Symphony#2 in b minor, opus 5”. I think pieces were performed belong to classical style.
In what period was the work composed? List three aspects of the musical style of this period that apply to this work.
Several of his twenty-two operas gained worldwide recognition soon after his death, and they still please audiences all over the world. The Marriage of Figaro (1786) and Don Giovanni (1787) are operas he composed with words in Italian. The Magic Flute (1791) has German words. Each of these contains arias (beautiful melodies for singers), recitative (Rapidly sung dialogue), ensembles in which several people sing at the same time, and choruses. The orchestra provides an ever-changing expressive accompaniment. The drama ranges from comedy to tragedy. Mozart wrote over forty symphonies, many of which are performed today. Some originally were overtures (orchestral introductions) for operas, and last only a few minutes. His later symphonies, which are the most popular, are full-length orchestral compositions that last twenty to thirty minutes. Most of them consist of four sections. Mozart’s last and most famous symphony, Number 41 (1788), is nicknamed the Jupiter.
