Everyone has a personal ethics code that they live by whether they acknowledge it or not. Basically, personal ethics are your sense of right and wrong. It is your morals and values that define you as a person. Personal ethics are determined by each individual as to how they choose to live their life and differ from professional ethics which are defined by an organization; however a professional environment will also demand some aspects of personal ethics as well. I strongly feel that someone with a high standard of personal ethics will be better equipped to adhere to the professional ethics of an organization more so than someone with a low regard toward personal ethics. Personal ethics provide the framework that can be built upon by the professional ethics of an organization. Without a solid foundation of personal ethics, a person is less likely to adhere to the standards established by an organization.

This includes a strong work ethic that I inherited from my family as well as loyalty and faithfulness. I was taught at an early age that accomplishing a task through hard work was a reward in itself that one could take pride in and that one should be loyal and faithful in all aspects of their life. I am of the opinion that in order to receive fair treatment from others, it is very important to treat others the way you want to be treated. I attempt to be polite to everyone I meet. This ensures that I don't add to anyone's problems or aggravate a situation and assures polite interaction in most instances. As it is often stated, to have a friend, you must be a friend rather than being so judgmental that it drives everyone
