Personal integrity reflects how we are and it shows the people around us about ourselves. To become and have a better personal integrity, we have to practice various ways, to improve and enhance our skills to go in the right direction. Academic integrity is one of the practice. Every student who goes to school is expected to follow the school rules and policies, and understand what school wants to educate the students to be honor and have integrity in themselves for their future. Every student should have the responsibility for their own action. They should manage their time to study, to do homework, and to work. Without good responsibilities, they might fail to complete one of the tasks and might lead them to take a shortcut by cheating, and it becomes an academic dishonesty. Students should have both Honesty and Trustworthiness to be a good student. By having both Honesty and Trustworthiness throughout the college time, it will build how the students are and it makes students become a quality person in the community. Without Honesty and Trustworthiness, the student might do bad thing that affects their academic integrity, thus, no one would want that student to be a part of the community (work place). Students should have an academic integrity to become successful person, not only in school but also outside the world as well. Without, academic integrity, the students will not have a value in his/her-self, which will lead them to have dishonesty and untrustworthiness. With these three things, it will help students to become successful person in their future and it will guide them to be a good person in a community as

Academic integrity is the code of academic conduct that is set forth by educational institutions. It is the catalyst for the mission of most institutions. The expectation is that students will be honest and responsible as it pertains to academia. It defines the academic rigor in research and academic publishing and gives value to the institution (Spain & Robes, 2011). Academic integrity also applies to the way that an individual behaves both personally and professionally, and is a true measure to the worth of the degree that is earned. This standard of behavior applies to both students and faculty. In short this is just thief of
Academic ethics are the moral codes or the shared standards of an academic enterprise and the core of its success (Occidental College, 2016). Basically, academic ethics require each student, to be honest, responsible, fair, respectful, give credit where it is due, turn in their original work, and etc. (Michigan State University, n.d.). Academic integrity requires students to do their own work without unauthorized help from others, cheating, lying, plagiarizing, and stealing (Valdosta State University, 2016). Academic integrity is important because it shows that the student is trustworthy and honest enough to do his or her own work, whether someone is looking or not. “Learning how to express original ideas, cite sources, work independently, and report results accurately and honestly are skills that carry students beyond their academic careers” (Michigan State University, n.d., para. 2).
After reading the case study and UoPeople’s academic integrity and code of conduct statement in Chapter 11, I noted that REGGIE and ARNIE copied someone’s work turn to be their paperwork of assignment. Based on UoPeople’s code of academic integrity, chapter 11 defined that “Plagiarism is the unintentional or intentional representation of the words or idea of another as one’s own work in any academic exercise. This includes failing to properly identify direct quotation with both a proper citation…..” (UoPeople Catalog, 2015-2016, p.90). Then this was known by their teacher and issued F to final grade to both of them for the course.
Frustration and anger rush through my body as my face and ears turn red. I think to myself how could anyone be so irrigant, I am never talking to him again. Only thing is that I will have to talk to him again cause he’s my stepdad. One thing i’ve struggled with is working or dealing with someone that has different thoughts than me. It can be irritating dealing with someone like that, but in life one big lesson is learning how to successfully work with someone who has different judgement.
Throughout the history of the humanity, values and morals have constantly changed, as each culture has its own concepts of good and evil. For example, a man commits a felony if he has more than one wife at a time, but in some regions and cultures of the world, polygamy is viewed favorably. However, there are a number of ethical values that are almost universal. In general, they have been accepted all the times and places. This set of values can be summed up in a single principle or the golden rule: treating others as one would wish to be treated oneself. Although society must respect the golden rule, there are certain cases where selfishness and jealousy reign to the values and morals. In addition, integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct are an important key in the context of health care.

As I consider the diverse elements within character education, I believe integrity is the central principle sustains my professional, civic, and personal relationships. Integrity is shown within these fellowships just mentioned when my words and actions agree with my value system. For example if I say I will pick you up every Sunday morning up at eight o’clock and I show up five minutes before eight every Sunday morning for over a year, this particular relationship in my life is fortified with the truth and trust founded in integrity. Integrity powerful to me as it is synonymous with strength, durability in addition to “wholeness, completeness and soundness”, (Clark and Fujimoto, 1990). Furthermore
It is certain that one’s childhood has a great influence in rest of their lives. Integrity is always a key in our life. We should be responsible for what we do and what it represents for. In college, students’ academic integrity is the most important thing in their educational life, even more, important than their grade and their diploma. The first question is what is the relationship between integrity and leadership, and success in public life. In my understanding, the integrity represents part of your personality, and people in public society will examine your integrity to consider what kind of person you are. If you failed on the integrity, people would no longer trust you; not even saying succeed in public life. Even if you have a substantial experience or knowledge, they don’t trust you. Based on the quote from Dostoevky,
Personal Integrity is being honest with yourself and with the people around you. When you have personal integrity you are going to be as honest as possible as you can to the people around you and to yourself. When you are as honest as u can be you have Personal Integrity. When you are honest people believe you more then they already do. When you are honest to yourself you believe in yourself more and you think you can do more things then you can now. When you have personal integrity you believe you can do a lot more things that seem impossible to you now.
Integrity is very important on a college campus. College is a synonym for the word “freedom.” You live on your own, and the only people you answer to is the school or the police. So it is up to you to make the decisions that are right for your life. Because even more so in college, where you live with your friends, are there choices to be made every single day. And they all could effect your life.
Academic integrity holds a great deal of weight. This includes honesty in the work produced, as well as being able to accomplish the work. Responsibility in addition plays important factor into integrity. I see
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY 1. All students are responsible for the honest completion and representation of their work. 2. There will be zero tolerance for infractions and dishonesty. 3. Harsh penalties will be applied if anyone is known to be dishonest. 4. If you believe there has been any dishonesty by anyone in class, please bring it to our attention.
Students must have to understand what academic integrity is and what the most common violations are. With that thoughtful they must constrain themselves to the highest standards for their own, as well as for their peers ', academic behavior.
