Inconclusive seems to be the word of my career-finding journey. As with many career tests I have completed, the Focus 2 gave me a plethora of options for a career. Besides noting that I should do something that involves people, there wasn’t very much narrowing down job options. So, for the most part, I am in the same place I was before taking the assessments. I feel like there is a problem with me and these career/personality tests. My interests are very broad, so I think tests like this one have a hard time placing me. Also, for personality tests, I tend to want an alternative answer to the questions they give. With most things, I’m either in the middle of the answer options or not within them at all. More often than not, I end up choosing
I took the Princeton Review Career Quiz on https://www.princetonreview.com/quiz/careerquiz#!quizresult_4230337_quizResultsTab website. This assessment is consisting of a 24 multiple-choice questionnaire that best fit your personality and way of thinking. The assessment took
Myers and Briggs created a personality test that not only will help people to figure out their personality types, but at the same time it aids in the discovery of which career pathways people should take based on their specific personality traits. Based on the personality trait INFP that was given to me from the Myer-Briggs test I have quite a few career pathways that fit my personality. Some of the career choices suited to my personality is a writer, counselor, teacher/professor, psychologist, psychiatrist, musician, or a religious worker; which seems like a pretty broad selection. Although there is a broad selection of careers that would suit my personality none of which are the career path that I have chosen; which is to become a physical therapist, but if I was not set on a goal some of these career ideas would not seem too bad. While reading the list of jobs suited for my personality I was surprised to see that psychologist was on the list because before I decided to go for physical therapy I wanted to pursue a career in that exact field. As for most of the other fields mentioned above I
After doing the personality tests on Indiana Career Explorer, the tests gave me a couple of examples of fields I would be successful in, it told me what values may be important to me in a workplace environment. I feel these assessments were spot on and I have more confidence in my ability to be successful in my career choice.
With the purpose of determining whether my personality, interests, and values meet my premeditated career, I carried out the TypeFocus assessment accessible through Tyler Junior College’s Career Services. First, I created an account with TypeFocus. Secondly I was able to obtain a few tests that would assess my personality, interests, and values. Next, I went forward and completed each test. Each analysis prompted me to answer a series of questions pertaining to the subject of that particular assessment. These questions that I was asked during the assessments were very straight forward, and easy to answer. Then, after completing all of the assessments I continued on to view each of the results. As the assessment taker, I had a choice on how
My career assessment test turned out just the way I thought it would the results was very interesting. From the assessment test the results touched base in many areas for the career I’m interested in such as psychology. My test results are :
This self-assessment test was something that narrowed down possible interest and helped the participants open their mind to new careers. In-fact when I finished my test I was able to view the different careers that feel in my interest category. Taking a survey and calculating the different likes each field had accumulated determined my test outcome. After gathering the likes that had accumulated I was able to determine which inventory category was strongest. My top inventory was conventional which states, I am one who likes to follow set rules and procedures, and prefers detail and clear lines of authority (Self-Assessment, n.d.). My second strongest inventory category was Social, which states, I like work activities that promote learning and development (Self-Assessment, n.d.). Not only did I learn what my strongest inventory was I also had the ability to learn which jobs fell under those categories. Out of each category within the level 5-education requirement, I had one job that stood out over the others; category one conventional had Math Professor. This job is something that would be interesting, but I am not sure if I would want this job as a career. The social category had one job that also caught my eye, health educator. After all the research and looking at each one of the categories and the possible job opportunities I have come to the realization that the test are estimates. I personally do not think
After taking the career inventory assessments last week, I found the results to be very interesting. For the interest profiler instrument, my scores were high in both social and artistic which I found to be not surprising. My first highest score that I received for the social was a ten, and the second highest score that I received for the artistic area was a one. As for the scores in realistic, investigative, enterprising, and conventional, my score was a zero in those areas. For the work importance locater instrument, my highest scores were in achievement and recognition. I received a score of thirty in achievement, and a score of twenty six in recognition. For the scores in the other work values: independence (16), working conditions (16),
I usually neither support nor oppose the candidates running in the local elections. But, I am going to take an exception this time to openly declare my support of Dr. Nazeera Dawood for the Johns Creek City Council's Post 5.
One of my reasons that lead me to the decision of transferring from my current institution is the mere fact that I feel limited in my current degree program. The class selections that are tailored specifically for my major are very restrictive. There simply aren’t many classes offered. When it comes to registering for classes I see the same few classes time and time after again. I want to be at an institution as a prestigious as yours that offers a plethora of classes that are related to my major. Although there are specific core classes you have to take, your institution provides vast selections to choose from, unlike my current one.
One day i was fishing in my uncle mikes pond and mom said that i needed to drive the golf cart the the end of the road .then she said that dalan was coming to the pond ,so i drove to the driveway and when i seen him coming around the corner he was going about 70 mph and he slammed on the brakes and turned in the driveway and he followed me to the pond .he gave us all a hug when he stoped to get out.
I believe the TAT test sums up my desire to achieve, and that I see positive relationships of high importance in my life. These intrinsic motivators of striving for success in both academics and relationships are my top priority and the two things I am most passionate about as they increase competence, autonomy and relatedness. As an advocate for the power of education, and my deep care for others and their potential to succeed, I feel that my personality test results demonstrate reasons for being well suited for the major and career path in
Growing up I never gave too much thought to college, whenever people asked me about furthering my education my only response was “I don’t want to go”. I didn’t see the future in it, “success doesn’t come with a piece of paper” I thought to myself, and although that was true I didn’t realize all the doors that weren’t open without that piece of paper. I always felt optimistic growing up, but for whatever reason, I never felt sure about the route I would take in life. Graduating high school was a priority but after that there was nothing. I’ve always had big dreams but back then I hadn’t mustered up a plan on how to get there, like driving to California with no map or GPS I was stranded, suspended in this mindset of what I wanted to be and what was comfortable. Neither of my parents went to college and in spite of that my childhood was beautiful. In hindsight I think that was a big reason I thought the way I did. When I was a kid I remember looking at my
Furniture, valuables, and boxes are stacked all the way to the ceiling. By this time, I have been accustomed to the process of putting my valuables in a storage locker. I had to leave my house and stay with a friend of the family. From middle school to my sophomore year of high school, I lived in seven different places. Therefore, it was convenient to have a storage locker to keep my belongings in. It was comforting to know that my stuff would still be there when I found a permanent place to stay.
I was born on the 16th of February 1998 in Show low Arizona as the youngest child in a family of eight children. The age gap between me and next oldest is 11 years. It was difficult to grow up without siblings around my age to play with and I quickly learned how to entertain myself.
Career assessments are very beneficial when an individual is trying to determine what career path they may be wanting to take. Sometimes new information will become apparent and other times information that is already known to that individual will just be simply solidified. It is important to answer the questions as accurately to oneself as possible. My personal results only reassured me of what I already knew.
