The person who influenced me most into applying to Syracuse University was my dad. My dad graduated with a degree from Syracuse, and has always been hardworking and passionate in everything he does. Going to Syracuse for me correlates with many of the traits my dad possesses, and by going to the same college he got his degree from, I hope that I can develop many of the same traits he possesses. Attending the university where my dad got his degree from would allow me to live up to the expectations my dad has set, for with his degree he was able to acquire a good job that allowed him to move up in life. A Syracuse degree allowed my dad to move out of the projects of the Upper West Side of Manhattan to the suburbs of Long Island, giving us
Throughout life I’ve experienced a rather unpleasant childhood with the absence of my guiding figures: my parents. Seeing them rush in and out of the house to go to the hospital with my younger brother shaped me in a way nothing else could have. It made me who I am today, as well as aspired me towards what I want to be one day.
I am applying to Hofstra because I believe that the university can help me achieve my goals. From the time I was a young child, I knew I wanted to go into the medical field. While there is a long and difficult road ahead of me, I am sure that attending Hofstra University will help me go down that road.
I choose to attend the University of Florida for the culture of community that exists on the campus. The University of Florida has always been a school that wants its students to succeed, but what is the most interesting aspect is that the students push each other together to achieve their goals. We live in a society where it is a "Man vs Man" world and that only one can succeed. Here at the University of Florida, we challenge those social norms and try to create a pathway that fits for everyone. Here, we just don't have dreams, because as gators, we make those dreams plans and those plans into reality. Being able to accomplish or do something that makes your life fulfilling is what made me want to come to the University of Florida and continue to give back to the place that gave me the chance to improve myself and help others improve too.
My initial interest was through the academic program, but what peaked provocation is the mission statement. I admire that an apparent goal is to learn from each other as community members and also from industry leaders. I think it is important to learn from each other, as your peers are sometimes the people you learn the most from. Additionally, I was pleased that students learn from people actively in their field of study. My favorite part of the mission statement is that students work to break the boundaries on real world issues. Many of the classes and activities I have been apart of in high school touch on this part of the mission statement; I think it is the most important part. There is no point in being educated if it is not to better the world in a positive way and I appreciate that at Syracuse that journey, to relate and impact the real world begins as a student. Overall I am eager to apply to Syracuse to embrace the opportunities it provides and to be apart of a network of brilliant people, through athletics, internships, classes, and social
I am applying to this opportunity because this it gives me a chance to succeed in life. Being able to go to this college it would give me a better chance to get a better job then going to a community college. I am choosing this college because I get to move far away from here. I also like this college because I will never have to have difficulties getting to school because of the snow, it will always be hot. In the matter of minutes I could walk to the beach and have fun. I've always dreamed of moving far away getting a fresh start and meeting new people.
Syracuse’s values are very similar to mine. I want to learn in the best school that I can and Syracuse is one of the best schools in the nation. The attention to the student that Syracuse give is also that I also value. I know that being at Syracuse will open doors and opportunities for me and my future.
Clemson University has always been special because of the opportunities it has given to me and my family. Giving my father and uncle to play on the football team that went on to win a national championship, as well as a college education makes me feel thankful because without a full scholarship, they would not afford college. Being named after the mascot, my connection to the university was apparent at birth. Clemson has given members of my family opportunities and I feel like Clemson can give me opportunities as well. My future plans in life include attending medical or law school to pursue a degree in one of those two fields. The academic programs that Clemson offers will best prepare for my future goals. Having advanced research and degree
The demographics of the campus with its vast diversity would allow me to learn about new cultures and immerse myself in a new environment. I would also be able to bring my own unique perspective that could enrich the campus and help me converse with my peers. I have always been involved in clubs and my enrollment at New York University would continue with my involvement in theses activities such as joining the school newspaper, the debate team, and numerous other clubs. The campus proximity to New York City would allow for many internships opportunities in English or Law and provides me with numerous opportunities to explore different cultures and gain new perspectives of the world. New York University has all the qualities that I look for in a college and it would be an honor to continue my education at such an established
I applied to the College of Arts and Sciences because of its location. The College of Arts and Sciences' location in New York City because I saw a chance to taste the world outside my home. I am enthusiastic to get an education from a prestigious college while experiencing a city filled with multiple cultures and possibilities.
After moving a countless amount of times, my home does not have a roof and windows. My home has become my biggest motivator- my father. I am one of the few, lucky people to be born into and privileged with such a small, but loving family. Not only has my father provided me with a life I can thrive in, the story of his life in China is what gives me the confidence to pursue a career in the medical field. At his high school, he studied every day for more than nine hours and became the top student, despite the fact that his future in education seemed bleak because of the Cultural Revolution. Getting a higher education was his dream, yet illegal. After succeeding in high school, he was forced by the government to attend a labor camp, where he
"Never forget the past…because it may haunt you forever. Regret all the bad things…cherish the good things. Look ahead always…but don't let the bad things from the past get in your mind." As a young child, there were so many incidents in my life that made me become the person I am today. There were rough times as well as good times. If I were to tell you all of them, I would remember half of them. I think some of my incidents really had some impact, and some were just simple ways of life. To tell you the truth, the incident that had the most impact on me has to be when my real father left me at the age of three. I never knew my father. I mean being a baby, you really have no experience or recognition of somebody else.
A hero to me is someone that is willing to help other. A hero to me is someone that is willing to do the right thing even if it means that they miss the football game. A hero to me is someone that sees the bad and turns it to into the good. My father fits this description perfectly.
As I walk in, I see my dads old man blowing up what looks like the last green balloon. He’s got smoker lungs, so it looks like he took a while, since there was only one bag. I let him finished and got his inhaler for him. He looks like a grumpy old man, but once you get to know him he’s cool. He’s bald in one spot, just like my dad, and wears big dog t-shirts. He served in the Vietnam war. He’s shorter than most people.
According to the dictionary, encouraging means, “to give hope, courage, and confidence to someone.” This describes my dad perfectly. My dad is the greatest person I’ve ever met! He is a funny and silly guy with a big fauxhawk on top of his head. So, I think you would notice him pretty easily. A couple ways my dad is encouraging are that he reminds me to use my creativity, he is a great teacher, and he cheers me on.
