Throughout my high school career I grew my abilities to work on double page spreads in InDesign. However, I have not been able to work on any projects more recently, but I still consider page layout to be my primary passion.
Throughout my design education I have been trying to broaden my skills and improve my artistic skills to have a good foundation for my graphic skills.
The idea of my design degree began with my interest in photography while I was in junior high. I loved manipulating the colors after I had an interesting still image. So here are a few examples of some of my photography experimentation.
Further development of my artisitic skills includes pen and ink work. These projects have been from my time in college.

In addition to an enthusiastic attitude I would bring to the position strong communication skills, and the ability to encourage others to work cooperatively within the department. My Graphic Arts training and experience will help me work with staff artists, and provide me with a understanding of the visual aspects of you
Ever since a young age, my creative journey has been continuously evolving. It all started when I began to constantly draw the cartoons that I was watching on television. It was not until I was ten years old where my artistic skills developed and I progressed to drawing realistic people and structures. Through this, I have been able to take simple ideas and make some amazing discoveries. From the various abstract buildings to the complex skyscrapers that I have drawn, I know that my creativity can lead to numerous concepts that are outside of the box. Coming from a family where my artistic desires are accepted, I found myself being able to try out multiple mediums such as painting, sculpting and designing, all through my Grandfather. That being
To begin with, my is Bryan PEnnignton, and I am a Sophmore. Enrolling into the College of Art and Design at Marshall was kind of a last minute thing for me. When I was a senior in high school a few years ago, I did not have any idea what I wanted to do with my life. I never really even thought about it, I tried to avoid the topic altogether. I was not even that interested in art or art making, until the last half of my Junior year in high school. Even then I was only mildly interested in it, and I had never even considered pursuing it as a career. So, at the very last minute I made the decision to go to college at Marshall and become an art major.
During my freshman year of high school, I took my first graphic design class. Although it only taught the basics of graphic design, I did very well in the class and
Almost every job requires steady focus to get your work done. If you're a copywriter, you have a deadline to meet whether or not you're "in the mood" to write the salesletter. If you're an accountant, you have to make sure all the numbers balance. It doesn't matter if you just had a messy break-up with your significant other. It just has to get done.
When I was a kid, grandpa would tell me that an education is the key to success. He would say that the day at which you stop learning is the day at which you pass away. I have pondered this statement over the years and I have to say he was right. I am looking to pursue a Master of Education in Adult and Lifelong learning to help better educate my clientele. Instead of teaching in the classroom right out of college, I went the route of research agriculture. What I found was that even in research agriculture I was teaching. Then I changed jobs to a Field Service Representative and I found I was still teaching farmers new ways to manage the new to Arkansas crop: edamame. When going back to research agriculture in the Extension Entomology
During my freshman year of high school, I took an introductory course on graphic design and I fell in love with the subject! Since then, graphic design has become a big hobby of mine and I would love to learn more about it. As of right now, what I mainly do is Photoshop my friends into funny scenarios and try to make them look as realistic as possible. In school, for creative project I would make funny videos and use Photoshop and After Effects to make them look professional. My best work is my 10th grade AP Euro video which you can find at this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtDlWW6Qpc4
Mom always told me that if I don’t keep the score up I will have to find a job someday. The score is just what my mom and I call my grades. She means that if I don’t keep up my grades she would stop giving me monthly allowance and you know kids these days, that's what keeps us going. I always listened to her until I started playing basketball. Everyday after school I went to basketball training for two whole hours and I know what you’re going to say, why don’t you do your homework after basketball? Well, you see my team always has these team parties. On other days I have to go to my older sister’s lacrosse games. She is a pro at it or should I say she was a pro at it. Lately, she has been missing all the goals. Now she is always yelling at me and bossing me around. She is always saying “Stephanie bring me this...and Stephanie bring me that…” If you are wondering who is Stephanie? Stephanie is me. Stephanie Helen Cooper, yup that’s me.
Now, art is a huge part of my life, and I draw everyday.I’m eager to see what impact art has on my
As a budding graphic artist, I am passionate about logo designing, calligraphy, and photography. I love to invent new logo ideas, create hand-lettered artwork; digitize them for fun, and when on a break, I pick up my camera to capture the scenic beauties of nature.
High school has been a highly interesting experience for me. I have learned a lot about my personal qualities, such as my strengths and weaknesses, and my work habits and attitudes. High school has taught me many things, both academically and emotionally. It has definitely had its highs and lows and many confusing experiences in between. Overall, I feel like I have been equipped for not only college, but also life as a whole. My time at WACTC my education contributed to my personal growth, enhanced my sense of community and advance my knowledge basis to prepare for the work force and life outside of school.
A few of the education opportunity that I have taken advantage of since I entered school are The Light House Community Center, Nicholas Academic Center, and the After school Program. They are all wonderful programs that I would recommend to go and check it out. All of these programs helped me with my education and helped me identify myself as a person.
I have always been referred to as the “artistic kid” growing up. I would draw a lot, create amazing sculptures out of Lego’s, and was naturally inclined with technology and software. I became more interested in trying different mediums as I grew older and more aware of what is available. I’ve worked with oil paint, acrylics, charcoal, pencil, spray paint, and digital work in Adobe. I have been fortunate that my guardians have tried to support the artist in me throughout the years.
This is my vision. Before starting this course, I had been thinking about the possibility of creating sculptures that intertwine art with
My experiences in different creative disciplines and working with unique individuals over the years have had a positive impact on my communication and relationship building skills. I have strong presentation skills - including creating visually stimulating presentation slides for pitching design projects and presenting them to clients to communicate and share information articulately. Meeting clients and liaising between client and the design studio had been one of my prime roles as a
