My mock interview was conducted by my oldest sister Lise. I asked her to interview me because at her previous job she helped to conduct interviews when they were filling open positions. I thought it was important to have someone interview me who had some knowledge about interviews so it could seem as real to me as possible. I was pretending to interview for a job as an aide working in a daycare center. As part of preparing for this mock interview I had my husband practice asking me some general questions that he has been asked in interviews. I also looked over the list of interview questions that you had provided us and that we used in our discussion question a few weeks ago. I wanted to think about how I could answer the questions that I felt were challenging to …show more content…
It really did feel like I was interviewing for a job that I truly wanted. I have to say after watching the interview I think there were some points where I wasn’t exactly sure how to answer a question so it might have resulted in me rambling a little and maybe not really answering the question that was asked. I do however feel I did a good job with answering questions how I truly felt and keeping things positive and showing that I have a good attitude. I felt that overall even though I was nervous I was still able to communicate who I am as a person and what my beliefs about working with children are. I feel that I was able to provide a few good examples of how I work with children. There was also a question toward the end of the interview about something that I don’t have a lot of knowledge or experience with and I think I did a good job answering that question. I told her that it wasn’t something that I haven’t had a lot of experience with but something I wanted to work on and learn more about which I felt was a very good
My identity can be defined by moments in my life. Moving to Canada, learning English and going to high school are three major moments in my life. Going through these experiences have changed the person in me and made me more confident, stronger, better in everything.
Going into the interview, even knowing full well that it was simply a mock interview, I was somewhat anxious. The most nerve-wracking part of an interview is the fear of the unknown. What will they ask me? Will I have an answer? Will my mind go blank because I panic? These are all thoughts that ran through my mind when I sat down to my interview, yet again. To my delight, I witnessed the growth I have made in such a short time since I transferred to SDSU to the person I am now.
I was surprised about the amount of time it took me to complete my interview. I completed my interview in such a short duration of time, but it felt like I was
So when I first got there I had the idea that it was a mock trial. It was not until we start and they started going over the history of the Texas Supreme Court and how they are able to travel thought the state did I realize that the court cases were real. Which, I am glad that they were real cases because that would have been boring if they were mock. So once I got that all right in my head I started to focus on the cases the first one was at some point difficult to follow to quote my friend who’s in high school “I don’t get why everybody is so mad about so ranch there is plenty of it at Walmart at leas that’s what that one dude said”. Now, my friends, he is the class clown, so I knew it was a joke but he did ask me “for real why did he keep
Everyone has a story of how great an astonishing their life has come to be like getting a chance to travel the world, getting awards being popular, or even helping out in the community. Well, to be honest, that's not me and this is my story. My name Rebecca Alexandra Gomez I arrived into this world on October 7, 1998 around 11:25 AM at the Humber River regional hospital in Toronto. I lived in Toronto for about three years of my life than from there I moved to Brampton. I have always loved justice, and have a very strong sense of patriotism. I was attacked by a terrorist cell while I was stationed in what was Bhutan. I led my squad out alive, except for our EOD man. He sacrificed himself for the rest of us, and was later recognised with the Medal of Honor.
This interview process really taught me how to listen to and accept the viewpoints of other people who are not necessarily from the same background that I am from. I spoke to one person that I have known for years, and another person who I never spoke with prior to the interview. My first contact was Ms. Tessy Hunt, a direct support counselor for individuals with special needs. The people who Tessy serve, face challenges that not everyone is equipped to support. I chose to interview Ms. Hunt because she provides actual services for a group of individuals who are not allowed the same opportunities and same rights that many of us take for granted. I have known Tessy for several years, and I know that her line

Caroline, my sister, is the type of person who loves animals and says she wants to save the world. She thinks her jokes are the best, but she’s the only one that laughs. She is always willing to help someone out if they are stuck. She knows how to put a smile on someone's face. Whenever Caroline answers the phone, even if it wakes her from a nap, she always smiles first and then talks. “Because a smile can change any meaning” she always says. She is a 20 year old junior at “UW-Madison for my undergraduate degree in anthropology with certificates in archaeology and classics” (C. Schlinsog, Personal Interview, May 31, 2017). She is very smart, she is taking summer classes so she can graduate early and go on to graduate school. She has a big future ahead of her.
After the date for the interviews were announced, I practiced by asking myself a couple questions that I thought might be asked of me and prepared my answers; I made sure that they were “perfect” or at the very least expressed my interest in the position. The day of interviewing had come and gone. I felt pretty confident with the answers that I had given. Now, I just needed to survive the hard part: waiting.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to job shadow an employee who works in the information technology field. I was required to ask them multiple questions pertaining to their job. Competing at regionals in the interview helped greatly with this. Not only did I know how I should act when giving the questions, but I knew how to respond to their answer. It was almost an exact replica of my experience at regionals, only I was the interrogator. In fact, my Academic Decathlon interview was the first major interview I had ever participated in. I’m very grateful for the experience because it opened up another door, allowing me to peek through and see a glimpse of what I imagine actual job interviews to be like.
I think that my answers were generally well-formed, though they could use some condensing and polishing. I was also impressed with my ability to work with questions I had not anticipated, though this skill can always be improved. I prepared a lot for this mock interview, and while it appeared to show in my responses, my body language did not project the confidence that I needed to support those responses. In the future, I think I will prepare even more for each interview than I did for this mock interview, perhaps enlisting a friend to help me run through the questions and boost my confidence. Hearing some questions that I was not fully prepared for was also a great experience, as it will give me the ability to prepare for them before the real interview and because it gave me good practice thinking on my feet, a valuable skill in a world where one cannot anticipate every question the interviewer will ask. In my next interview, I want to see myself projecting more confidence, answering more concisely, and maintaining more eye contact. The next step is to put in the practice to be able to achieve these
However, I do believe that I had good responses to the questions being asked. I feel like I could always elaborate more on my responses, and talk a little slower, and more about ‘myself’ and what ‘I’ can do to contribute to the company that is interviewing
I did my mock interview on Thursday at 10:30 with Hallie Rathbun a career staff member at the career services center. I was very nervous because I have never done it before. I practiced answering the questions that I found on the website with my roommates and Karen Student United Association club adviser to help prepare me for the interview. I tried to relax as much as I could before the interview.
