My Responsibility to America
Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president or any other public official, save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country. It is patriotic to support him insofar as he efficiently serves the country. It is unpatriotic not to oppose him to the exact extent that by inefficiency or otherwise he fails in his duty to stand by the country. In either event, it is unpatriotic not to tell the truth, whether about the president or anyone else.”

Without them, crime, disease, and chaos would plague us. In the short term and in the long run these people influence our country greatly. Although they do not get much recognition for being extremely important to the wellbeing of our county, they are very much so. Their responsibility is to keep us safe from chaos, so we can live our lives peacefully.
I am not sure what i want to do with my life yet, but no matter what I do, I will always keep my strong feeling of patronism. Gordon B. Hinckley once said, “Every good citizen adds to the strength of a nation.” I think that this quote, while very simple and straight to the point, encompasses the most important duty of that everyone has. Every person who works everyday to keep our country great, is doing their responsibility to America. I believe that no matter what career a person goes into, if they try to do good for our country, they can make a difference.
In closing, my personal responsibility to America, is to be a patriot through and through, in everything I do. Patriotism is a steady dedication of a lifetime, and something I will continue my whole life. I could still go into an immense variety of careers, but I will always work to better our country and keep the American dream
