Through recent years I have come to a realization in life, with the gift of observation, the situations life has thrown at me has helped me understand what my role here in America is. As a fellow American, I have found purpose in providing help to others when they face the struggles of life I, too, have had to face. As life carries on, my responsibility to America is to use my experiences and gathered wisdom to help others, to teach them, lead them, and inspire them. In consideration of the fact that my statement may appear vague in a way, allow me to elaborate on its meaning, for when I say my role is to help others, one of the things I mean by that is to share my views on the world and the situations it withhelds, in hopes my experiences …show more content…
With the use of my skills, may it be writing, art, or film work (and so on and so forth), and of my experiences, I can use them to inflict emotion upon people or to get them thinking a certain way. Providing help and inspiration through some sort of skill that expresses my knowledge, for in writing I can use some form of it to help people understand and experience a new outlook on a situation, and with art I can express some sort of emotion to perhaps inspire others or simply make them think and process what is being portrayed. These are just a few examples of things I could do to carry out my responsibility in America, and why it is my responsibility, is because I can bring influence upon others to help them realize issues America faces and to help more people become aware and assist them with the power of inspiration in order for them to act or understand a new perspective on a situation. I can use my experiences and skills and wisdom to help people approach life from the better, more positive and beneficial side, so that not only myself, but others can bring postive impact on the people of America and how we carry our lives on. Not only that, but the experiences I have gained through life should be shared to help others, because every living day of every American is assisting in the making of our future’s history, and by using our experiences we can build upon them to help one another and try to understand and grow as a
My responsibility to america is to make sure people have a retirement. At age 16 i started to put money away out of my checks for retirement. Because honestly do you think will have a retirement when we are age 65? I don't think so, i think were gonna be working till were dead. The country is so in debt it's not even funny to talk about. It almost makes me wonder where the world is gonna be when i'm even my parents age.
Studying in a foreign country is an interesting experience of an individual lifetime. One tends to learn a number of things relating to ways of life in a foreign land. Social, political and economic values and aspects are usually different from one region to another. Therefore, through studying abroad one is able to learn different issues about another society such as gender and sexuality issues, social class and race/ethnicity issues. Having come from a developing country studying in the U.S.A has been a great experience personally. This paper will attempt to provide a reflection of my personal experience on studying in the U.S by comparing the history of Angola and the U.S.
I feel that one of the most important responsibilities we have, as American citizens, to America is the obligation to look out for future generations of Americans. We always hear that young people are the future so we must do everything in our power to show them how to be proud Americans and take care of the land we live on. A couple of ways that we can help protect our land are participating in recycling programs and supporting organizations and industries that are “green”. In addition to taking care of the land, it is also important that we take care of and provide support for those in need in our country. It is our responsibility as Americans to aid and encourage our veterans. We must also look out for those who are financially less fortunate
Living in America is often taken for granted, but many would risk their lives just to live in this free country. My parents risked their lives escaping from Laos after the Vietnam War in order to reach America hoping for a better life. My dad’s struggles in life has inspired me to pursue higher education in order to create a brighter future for myself. Being the first generation children born in America has given me the opportunity of free education. In America education
Growing up in Ghana, I had heard a lot of things about the U.S. This was a country I had always wanted to visit; my prayer was answered when I got the opportunity to travel there. Arriving in a new environment came with many experiences. Adjusting with food, language and the weather was not easy. With the passage of time, however I have been able to0 adjust and fit it. This write-up therefore is to elaborate on my experiences since coming to U.S.
Stepping out of my first plane ride, I experience an epiphany of new culture, which seems to me as a whole new world. Buzzing around my ears are conversations in an unfamiliar language that intrigues me. It then struck me that after twenty hours of a seemingly perpetual plane ride that I finally arrived in The United States of America, a country full of new opportunities. It was this moment that I realized how diverse and big this world is. This is the story of my new life in America.
We all share a common responsibility in the success of the land of the free. It is our upmost duty to allow our brothers and sisters around us to feel welcome and safe of the worlds they are running from. As an American citizen, I hold up my responsibility by allowing myself to become aware and appreciative of the cultures around me. As members of Congress, the American people look up to you to be our voices through your legislative actions. Each and every
Being an American means more than just a section filled out on a person’s birth certificate. Being an American is an honor and is something to be proud of. Here, everyone has a choice in what religion to believe in, what to eat, and what to do. People even have the right to choose who should be this great nation 's leader. Here, people are given opportunities in every corner, and this freedom was achieved because thousands of men and women were willing to give their lives, in one way or another, in order for us to live the way we do today. An American takes the democratic government presented as an opportunity to help the United States strive for an even greater future; an American also gives back to the nation, serves in any way they possibly can, and an American acknowledges the history behind the success of this nation.
Our duty as Americans is to continue the rights to freedom and reinvent our own lives.

In closing, my personal responsibility to America, is to be a patriot through and through, in everything I do. Patriotism is a steady dedication of a lifetime, and something I will continue my whole life. I could still go into an immense variety of careers, but I will always work to better our country and keep the American dream
Would you want to know why I think America’s Gift to My Generation means to me?I have many reasons to why I think America’s Gift to My Generation. “Men and women fight for freedom, then they begin to accumulate laws to take it away from themselves”.~Author Unknown. This means that once the soldiers get their freedom, they take their own freedom away from the family to go in war to make America better. So all the people can have what they need to survive and never be on the streets to die.And they also can be free
From our beginnings we have been a nation of fighters. The American people fight not for for greed or power but for a brighter future. I owe it to our veterans to vote. I owe it to our activist to call out injustice. I owe to our protestors to force change. It is my responsibility to America to give everything I can to make this country the best it can be; For everyone who fought before me and everyone who has yet to
“And so my fellow Americans… ask not what your country can do for you… ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world… ask not what America
In life, we are called to serve others, not judge them for what they have done or will do in their life. This statement speaks volumes and does a wonderful job of summarizing what I learned, not only about myself, but about myself as a future occupational therapist (OT) while completing my Academic Service Learning (ASL) Project at the Salvation Army in Findlay, OH under the supervision of Major Angie Carter.
