The Time I Broke My Arm Over the summer of 2009 I was playing with my friend Carissa, at Rohner Park, while we were playing on the monkey bars after a while of jumping off and landing on our arms to many times my bone gave out and i broke it. While screaming in pain my dad tried to ask someone for a cellphone to call my mom to come pick us up and take us to the hospital. When my mom finally arrived my dad rushed me into the car so we could go to the hospital. While we were in the car i told my mom to go faster because the pain was really starting to hurt. When we arrived at the hospital we rushed into the emergency room asking for someone to treat my injury. After i was treated with lots of shots and other medical uses i had to get a cast
It was a normal spring night and my baseball game had just started. It was senior night and I was pitching, we had just finish the first half of the first inning. My teammate struck out, it was my turn to hit, I swung for the ball and my leg popped twice. I went down and didn't get back up, My leg was stuck to my chest and I couldn't move it. The visiting team's coach was an EMT he ran over and said ¨this is going to hurt¨ and pulled my leg straight. What had happened was when I swung the bat my leg didn't move and my kneecap dislocated and instead of my ligaments tearing, they stretched and broke my kneecap. This was a challenge for me because this was the first time I had never broken a bone in my life. I went to the doctor and he said nothing was wrong, so my
A time I had to overcome adversity in my life was when I became injured during the middle of cheer tryouts. At the time I was very passionate about competitive cheer, and my goal was to make the junior five team. When I got to tryouts everyone was tumbling, stunting and doing the dance routine. My adrenaline was pumping as I went to warm up my tumbling and throw a roundoff, back handspring, layout. I was determined to accomplish this for tryouts and impress my coach, but I was still very nervous. As I was running into the roundoff back handspring, I knew something was bound to go wrong. The next thing I knew I was in the middle of the air and suddenly landed on my knees, with my ankle twisted under me. My face got bright
My friends and I were Pokemon go hunting and I caught a lip of the concrete. I was at the courthouse with Daniel Ace Miguel and we were playing Pokemon Go.
On May fifth we were outside playing a soccer game and I was defence. We was win and still had a lot of time left. While waiting for someone to come, I wonder why I was the only defence on our side. It was just me and the goalie and the others were trying to score. I asked the goalie “Why was I the only defence?” He never answered back.
I played for a team called the Centreville Tigers and we were on the second game of the playoffs. During the 3rd quarter of this game I went to sack the quarterback and when I tackled him I fell right on my right shoulder and broke my collar bone. At first I didn’t know that it was broke until I tried to get up and then I realized that I wasn’t able to get up so I laid there until my coaches came over to pick me up. While picking me they asked me what was hurting and I told them it
When I went to the doctors they could not see what was wrong in the X-ray so I had to get a MRI. After the results came back, it showed that I broke a two inch piece of bone and cartilage off the bottom of my femur and that I needed to have surgery. I was scheduled for surgery in February which meant that I would not be able to play softball that year. I was so crushed because I did not want to miss my favorite sport season, but I was on crutches for four months so I could not help it.
It happened on a sunny, summer day in Cincinnati. The score was Tippecanoe City 1 and West Virginia 0 in the Go-rilla semi-final game. It was in the second half of the soccer game with less than five minutes left to play. An opposing player had a breakaway down the sideline. He had an open shot on goal and as a defensive fullback, my job was to run in front of him to try and block his shot. The next thing I heard was a big loud “SNAP!” I looked down at my arm to realize that it was broken. After that, I instantly went to the ground and started to scream for help. The first person to arrive was my coach. My arm didn’t look right at all. They immediately called a golf cart to come over and take me to our car. They asked to call a
In this essay I’m going to tell you about what I did what I did over break, which was go to Colorado. I also received and gave presents throughout my whole family. Also my step sister came down from California to visit.
On the day of my grandma’s birthday i was playing on a cement wall when i decided it was time to stop playing. As I started to get off the wall my grandpa started to walk up behind me to scare me. When he did, I slipped of the wall and landed on pieces of metal and barbed wire.
During summer break of 2009, I was six years old. I got a machine called a backhoe. It was a white International. We bought it from a guy right by my grandma’s house. We loaded it up onto the trailer to bring it home. I wanted to be helpful, because my dad just bought me this backhoe, so I thought it would be a good Idea to lift up and put away the 75 pound lbs each steel ramps by myself. I lifted up the ramp and lost grip on it from a foot off the ground. It landed on my toe and split it open right behind the nail because when it came down it smashed my nail and separated that skin. Even better I was wearing open toed sandals. At that moment I realized what I just did.
I broke my arm at a birthday party, let me explain! So, first Mom and I went in my Mom's car to leave, we go and were lost. We stop to figure out where to go. We figure out where to go and were on our merry ways!
This happened in January of 2009. I was 5 years old and I lived in Utah in a blue house. It was one where the stairs to go up and down were there right when you opened the front door. My room was at the end of the hall. It was a normal Sunday. We came home from church and ate lunch. I think we had macaroni. After we finished eating and washed off our plates, my sisters and I left the kitchen and we went into our room to play.
We arrived at the hospital a short drive later, I was taken into an examination room where I was told that I would be given a CT scan but until that point the neck brace had to stay on since the doctor and nurses could not be sure If did or did not have a head injury. I waited for what seemed like hours, still in the brace and extremely uncomfortable and impatient. I learned that my friends were safe and my girlfriend needed some stitches in her ear. I really just wanted to go home. It had been hours since I decided to leave for dinner and I was still hungry. My injuries were miniscule despite getting hit by a truck. There was a small cut on my arm that they sealed with some derma glue, which gave me the small scar I have on my arm today, and a large phallic shaped bruise on my thigh that would later shed a comedic relief for what could have been a tragedy. Other than that, despite being sore, I was incredibly lucky I had no major injuries and my scan came back normal.
I was on cast for one month . My appointment with the specialist then arrived , it was a few days after my holiday trip . I then went to KK Hospital and got my cast removed as the specialist confirmed that there was no hairline fractures or what not it was only an inflamed tendon and the impact of the fall that cause it to swell . I felt so happy after my cast was being removed , but at the
From the first time it never got easier. There were still times when my dad would walk in on me crying. Everyone has a heart break in their life. Mine just so happened to be the one I thought would never leave, and the one I had planned my future with. July 16th, 2016 was the first day Brandon came to hangout with me, and the day i knew would change everything for me. Honestly, there was no other excitement in the world that could top the way my heart raced that day. He pulled up to the driveway in a black dodge megacab. Not knowing what how the night would play out I quietly jumped in the truck and we started a very basic conversation and surprisingly we both couldn't stop smiling. We headed to champaign to go to the car demolition since his family was running in it. That night after the demo’s we went to his house and he had talked me into sitting down right beside him so he could ask me to be his girlfriend, and of course i said yes. Looking back now I should’ve said no.
