I read through it and overall this one is better than the first one. Good job.
An area you need to strengthen, as do I, is professional writing. Learning to write in a concise manner vs the way we speak takes practice. The more frequently we write and that writing is proofread and corrected the more we’ll improve.
Ideally after writing new content we’d get the best writers in the office (Greg or Chip) to proofread and correct us; but we’re not going to be able to have them proofread all our articles.
Therefore, we’re going to leverage a few online resources to help us cut down on errors and more importantly learn how to write better. I found a few different ones that I want us to use.
My writing experience started in high school. I was part of the high school yearbook. I was business editor as a freshman up to being the editor my senior year. I also participated on the newspaper staff. I had some experience in college, but I did not finish college. I then did not have any more experience until I started work as a leader at Nisco. I finally started college classes again.
Distant, cold, and non-existent describes my relationship with writing. My relationship with writing has never been a close relationship. Writing has always been difficult for me. I have never hated writing, but it has been a constant challenge for me. I will be discussing my fears of writing, the value of being able to express your ideas through writing, and what excites me about writing more and more.
My writing experiences have been minimal. So far I have only learned the basics of writing, like forming sentences and forming sentences to put into paragraphs. I can tell that my writing has improved throughout the years. I hope to improve in writing essays, paragraphs, stories, and speeches so that I have no errors with editing and creating the final product. I predict that I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from Newman University.
After this semester of English 102, at Bristol Community College I feel that I have gained the skill to articulate what I want to convey to the reader in many ways. I don’t just look at grammatical error, but instead I look for ways to make my sentences more effective and concise. Nevertheless, I hope that this strategy will continue to help me improve my writing even further on in the future.
In looking back on the three essays that I wrote this semester, I did notice several changes and improvements in
Another essential key element to improving my writing skills is by learning to “proofread and check for grammar”.
I’m a young woman who transferred from China to America and I’m not that familiar with how to utilize English compared to a young woman who’s who is from the United States of America. That has never stopped me from trying and I will never give up. I like challenges and difficult tasks, it tests my will and helps to achieve the goal I have set for myself. During this sixteenth week, my writing skill improved dramatically compared to the beginning of the semester. That may not be noticeable to others, but to me the improvement in my writing skill is very evident.
In this semester I have improved my writing skills. At the beginning, I didn’t know much about writing. Since English isn’t my first language, I had lots of errors in my essays. Writing in MLA format was one of the things I learned. Also, organizing my ideas, and then, write them in a draft, so my paper would end up worth of reading. Before turning the paper in, searching for errors was other thing I learned, because at the beginning, when I was done with an essay I would turned it in without looking twice, searching for mistakes. Now, I always double check to see if I made a mistake. Likewise, I used many common words to describe an idea or a person, I’m getting better on it, but I still need to work on finding new words to make my essays
After reading over my summer assignment essay and analyzing the comments and feedback of my writing I feel that I have a lot of work to do to improve my writing as a whole. I feel I had the ideas down on what I wanted to say on my summer essay. It was just difficult expressing them in a way that was compelling enough to the reader. The topics for the essay were not challenging to me because I felt that I wrote a lot about the one I chose on alienation. Throughout my reflection I will discussed the weaknesses and strengths in my writing as well as talk about ways I feel I could improve my writing.
While progressing through Introduction to University Writing, there were several important pieces of information that served as reminders on how to write properly. Looking back on all of the information provided, the most important guidance I gained was proofreading my writing. No matter how many times I proofread my work, it seems there are more mistakes to be found.
I've loved writing since I was a young child, especially creative writing. It allows me to express myself, and it seems almost magical to be able to create things simply by writing down a few symbols and twenty-six letters in various ways. I've written many fictional stories of various genres over the years. Unfortunately, while I have done a lot of creative writing, I haven't done as much academic writing. I would like this class to help me become the kind of student who earns A's on her papers by assisting me in becoming more efficient in the overall writing process.
Hello, I'm Jennifer Croney, and I am a student in your Writing for Communication course this semester.
The beginning is the hardest part when it comes to writing. Every experience differs per individual. I have discovered that most the time I do not know what to do, but flow with thoughts and see what comes of them. There is much to learn from this process and it will only get better as I continue to become a more capable writer. This is what I have learned about the writing process.
I am a 25-year-old, threefold combat veteran of the United States Army. I have served on active duty from June 2008 to December 2015. I am coping with memories of intense events, and sights, so I have a few learning handicaps. I fight with P.T.S.D. (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), T.B.I. (Traumatic Brain Injury), which hinders my short-term memory, active listening ability, and educational retention. My memory contains blank spots of my life so I don’t remember what I was taught in school for writing and reading. However, I remember the way the Army taught me. I have composed a plethora of classified, and unclassified materials; award documents to lawfully sworn statements. I do have a few habits like writing the date in D/M/Y format.
As I progressed through my higher education, I notice a slight incline towards me having some difficulties with my punctuation in addition to finding the drive to pull words from my vast vocabulary. Which I feel is easily being address by each assignment that I complete. When needing to explain myself more than once on a similar question I resort to the thesaurus to find the means of articulating a response. Although when I would refer to my feedback, I notice only one area of concern, which relates to me needing to proofread my assignments prior to submitting them. In attempt of adopting a solution to my error, I found web-based software that has been assisting me through providing a second pair of eyes along with Microsoft word and reading over the assignment for the final time prior to submitting it has help greatly. Alongside using software, I plan to benefit from the tutoring services GCU (Grand Canyon University) offers online through their “Student Success Center”.
