Personal Statement: Able To Change The World

Worldview is one’s way of knowing and it is the foundation for interpreting both language and culture. Dr. Smart, my professor of anthropology, emphasized the insider’s perspective to be crucial when understanding others. It was this lecture that we dissected the Chinese character for family (家) into its individual radicals, and the deeply intertwined nature of language, culture, and worldview became apparent. Influential professors like Dr. Smart have inspired me to pursue teaching within a cultural context and have reignited my childhood fascination with Japan. Thus, I am applying for the Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) Position in the JET Program. JET would afford me the incredible opportunity to combine my interest in Japan with my desire to teach. As an ALT, I will work to understand the world from my students’ perspectives while building a capability in crafting learning experiences unique for each student.

Throughout history humankind has suffered through many tragedies, and events that plunged the world into sadness and darkness. The world is up for change. If I could could change the world I would change a few major problems. First, I ban the use of genetically modified agricultural. At the moment, the threat is not affecting the mass population, but countless innocent people around the world are prone to sickness when ingesting GMO (genetically modified organism). Humans are not intended to ingest genetically modified substances, and maybe if shut down the major GMO operations we may be saved from becoming a brain-eating, mutant zombie.Secondly, fix America. For my “Change the World” project, I volunteered my time with the SPFGA (Sherwood Park Fish and Game Association). My family and I have been long-time members at the outdoor range owned by the association, and many of my best memories were made there. They are a volunteer run organization dedicated to providing safe and protected environment for appreciation of the outdoors. This is an organization I’m dedicated to and interested in helping because I strongly support education and respectful appreciation when it comes to nature, and the SPFGA is a community full of like-minded people.

It is fun to enjoy a movie, especially when you go out to the theatre, buy a snack, and watch a movie. It needs to be quiet and enjoyable, but mainly long enough that you didn’t waste 30 minutes getting here and about 20$ on tickets and snacks. Then you think about what you just saw in relation to the trailer and/or movies in the previous order.

Helping one and other is the greatest thing that one could ever do. I believe in giving back to the community. I value community service. Giving back to the community is very substantial. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I was exposed to many leadership and community service jobs. Where I served as Residence Assistance, community coordinator for the International student club, and math tutor. I’m an individual who enjoys dedicating her time to serve the community. I’m currently working as a Mental Health skill- building Service provider (MHSS) and Therapeutic day treatment counselor (TDT).

When reflecting on the information given to me by my principal I found it very informative because if we do not inform the community on different events, activities, and other school business ventures, then our school will lack positive community involvement. For instance my principal gave me great insight into different steps he takes to inform our local community of different events that are taking place within our community. For example, he made it clear it’s very important for all teachers and staff to help inform our community over different events and successes through either the local or school newspaper along with our local radio stations. These are just some of his ways of helping inform our community. I think he made a great point when he mentioned with the lack of community knowledge, simply people will be uninformed of activities taking place within our school, which is very vital for our schools success.

If i were in charge of the world There’d be pink everywhere, all houses would be a mansion, and medicine that cure cancer forever until the day you die.

I have always been a person open to new ideas that promote social change in a positive manner. My positive way of making change is through education. I believe through education a teacher can greatly impact student life in a present and future. I'm MSED program specializing in Special Education. I'm currently working in the special education field and Sped Certified by the state of Texas. In my school district, I work as a Special Education teacher in the alternative education program. and I have the opportunity to work with number different type of student to of kids, mostly students with a behavioral issue in which affect their ability to learn effectively. In most cases, a lot of teachers that wouldn't even begin to make take an attempt

The ability to communicate effectively is purely human. It is imperative that we use this advantage for good; we must use it to help one another. Therefore, I would like to receive an internship in which I can reach people’s lives, such as education, marketing or radio.

What I learned most about myself is I have the ability to become a formal leader. In order to become a formal leader, I need to first work on developing my skills to being a better role model. I learned I am more of a transformational leader. A transformational leader uses a method to convert and transform people (Bowyer, 2015). As a transformational leader, I have the ability to motivate leaders of the future by researching ways to improve our practice skills using science-driven knowledge through a journal club and finding ways to gain continuing education units for licensure purpose. What I learn about myself and my leadership skill is, a key to being an exceptional leader in my place of employment, is to also be an exceptional employee.

Another reason why I would change the world is to have less traffic. If people need to get to there jobs they can’t because of too much traffic. Less traffic might take away car wrecks. It will also take away traffic jams. I think this would

First, i would go and make it so I'm invisible when I want to be so I can go to planes then turn it so that I'm not invisible. I think that it would be cool to travel the world without paying because then you can go wherever you want when ever because they can't see you get on the plane. When you travel the world, you can just get money because people can’t see you taking it when you do take it the money won't be invisible so I don't know how I will get it out but I will find a way to do it. Then you can have all the money you want and go anywhere. You will be living the dream of going where ever and you can turn invisible whenever you want, so that will be the fun part of the whole thing. My mission in life is to be an instrument of positive change of Georgia College, my sorority, among my friends, and as a future educator. To start every day with a smile and continue the day with passion for life and those around me. I will later use my compassion for children to make a difference in the future of society but for now I hope to leave a positive imprint on the campus of Georgia College as well as my sorority’s chapter.
