money” – Sir M. Visvesvarayya

I hail from an upper middle class family that lays very strong emphasis on education.
Both my parents, who are Advocates by profession, my sister and brother-in-law, who are
Software Engineers, and my uncle, who is a Civil Engineer, have inculcated in me, a strong
sense of discipline and high regards towards the value of education. I truly believe that a person,
no matter how highly qualified, essentially remains a student till their last breath. I am always
spurred on by the challenge of analyzing and understanding the unknown and pushing myself
beyond my intellectual comfort zone.
The city I was born and bought up is a place where a great Civil Engineer, scholar,
Statesman Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya lived in and constructed a steel factory by the
name “Visvesvarayya Iron and Steel Plant” [VISP], couple of bridges and much more. At the age
of three, on the way to school where VISP falls on the way, I once asked my father ‘whose statue
was that which was placed in front of VISP?’ and then he explained so well about him and his
great works, from the very next moment I made him
I was raised with the fundamental notion of service to mankind, I have always been interested in society’s injustices and problems, and being a catalyst for change. I have received my bachelors and master’s degree in Social Work from Barry University in Miami, FL.
Education has always been limited in my family. Both my mother and father only obtained an education to about the 8th grade, and were then taken

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be recognized for my exceptional behavior that is displayed in everything I do. The National Honors Society can benefit me in accomplishing that goal. I enjoy learning new things daily, and applying it to my own life. I am doing extremely well in all subjects, but apart from classes, I am actively involved in school activities. For instance, I participate in cheerleading, basketball, softball, Heroes and Cool Kids and student council. The purpose of participating in these activities is to succeed. In order to succeed, I feel one must be focused, confident, responsible, creative, dedicated, and hardworking. These characteristics lead me to be successful and to dedicate myself to my academics.
I have seen many colleagues burnout within two years of working for large nonprofits because of high stress, cold systems, lack of appreciation, and bad managers. Despite their passion for the people they serve, these forces were strong enough to quench that spirit.
I am an experienced customer service individual with strong communication skills, proven success in generating creative ideas, and understand the power of team work. I acknowledge the importance of excellent communication at all levels within any given institution. My over seventeen collective years of work experience was mainly customer service functions which comprised sales and administrative; however, I am open to explore other challenges or avenues to enhance my knowledge. I am also a computer savvy.
have good homework and study habits, and to always do my best. I try to learn for myself, so
I strongly believe that everyone should have access to a high quality education and to have the opportunity to academically develop to their full potential. With each decade we enter a new era of globalization, and our classrooms are becoming increasingly diverse. My main goal as an educator is to provide students from all cultural and linguistic backgrounds with tools to support their intellectual, social, cultural, and emotional development.
I was 18 when we moved to the United States from Cameroon in 2010. I had always known I wanted to be in journalism, yet had little knowledge of how the media worked or what being a journalist even entailed. I had a passion for telling stories, and zero experience or hope that I would someday be able to do so in a way that affects everyday people, and effects positive change. As far as I knew, journalism was the ruling government’s tool for communicating what it deemed fit for public knowledge, and stifling any information that remotely threatened the political status quo. Only in the following years would I come to grasp the power of media and communication, in a journey that has led me to this very moment.
A personal mission statement is a philosophy or creed that one plans to follow in daily life. It is usually designed with positivity, purpose, and with personal goals for every aspect of life such as career, finances, etc. It also focuses on personality traits that one would like to possess and the accomplishments that one wants to achieve, both short-term and long term. It also houses the individuality of the person writing it. Every person writing a personal mission statement is will produce a different statement. This is primarily because people value different things, characteristics and have different goals. The purpose of this paper is to explore my mission statement (Covey, 2013, pp.113).
My true passion for engineering began when I came across the quote: "Technology are devices that make our lives better". Despite my first love of mathematics, my recent interest for engineering has come from two major influences. The first being my mathematics and physics teachers, both engineers by nature, who have helped me enhance the fundamental skills essential for engineering and embrace the importance of the field. The second being the learning about uses of technology in Computer Science, it taught me the magnitude of which technology contributes to our everyday lives has led me to intensify my desire to improve the lives of others.
I see myself progressing in my field as well as in my education. I find my education challenging and motivating. I can see many challenges ahead and therefore I am willing to invest my time learning all the skills and knowledge of my field towards professional advancement. I hoped to be offered in a management role in 5 years, looking to move on to greater things. I'm prepared to learned new things and contribute to the overall success of the organization in a number of ways. The only specific ''plan of willingness'' is that the opportunity be within my ability to learn, interesting enough for me to dig and do a good job, and the compensation increase a reasonable amount in relation to the demands of the
Growing up in a business-oriented household consisted of being exposed to, and witnessing talks of business management — be it at in-house parties or out at dinners — from a very young age, which I believe has impacted my upbringing and passions to a great extent. Along with a substantial inclination towards Business Management, I also had a keen interest in the field of Accounting, which I became more aware of at the age of around nine. Most kids resent going to the bank with their fathers, however, for me, it was always a source of amusement and gratification. As a child, I would witness my father give cash to the banker and/or vice versa, which would leave me to ponder about what exactly was going on. This eagerness to have the know-how of money and what goes behind it made me discover my true passion.
