As an adolescent, I envisioned that I would pursue many different careers. I dreamed of becoming a firefighter, a police officer, a marine, and even the future president of our nation. I changed my mind plenty of times on which career path I wanted to pursue. After enrolling in classes that allowed me to realize who I am, I came to the realization of what I am passionate in. The question was posed, “Why Health?”, and my response is based on my intense passion for helping the individuals in my life and more so in my community. When it comes to choosing a career for the rest of my working days, I will choose a career that I know I can be successful in, but I will also choose a career that I know I will take pleasure in. I chose the healthcare
As a young child, I was always drawn towards the field of health care. I remember reading about the many options that are held within it and wondering what path it would lead me on. Neonatal nursing was something that always came into my mind, but it was often pushed to the side by people and teachers who thought I should become a pediatrician instead. This became a real struggle for me, but as I grew up and began researching and exploring the health care field I came to a decision for myself. I came to the realization that everyone was wrong. I didn’t want to be a doctor at all. This sudden burst of independence from what everyone else wanted was the first step to reaching my end goal. Along with this, an accelerated education, volunteer
If you would have told me ten years ago that I would be writing this essay and planning yet for another years into the future, part of me would have been surprised. Years ago I would have never envisioned myself going into the health field. Growing up I always heard stories from my parents and grandparents of how lucky I am to be alive and how thankful they were to the doctors and nurses. After hearing these stories for so many years it then made me realize that all I wanted to do was help people.

I made the decision to join the health care field based on my own desire, love of the people that live and thrive around me, and to be a role model for my daughter. I feel it is important to have a goal in life, and it is important to me to show my daughter the value of goals, and achieving them as well. I love meeting new people, and being able to lend a helping hand in any way I possibly can. What better way to help the general population then to have a profession in the health care industry.
I have had a passion for becoming a healthcare provider for children for quite a while (for a long time). Children are one of the most important individuals of society because they are the future and will one day be in charge of the world. Their health at a young age is indicative to how their health will be as adults. Childhood has a great effect on how a person turns out to be so I hope to help children I hope to use prevention and education to preserve and restore the health of my patients. My career goals are to prevent children from having to spend time in hospitals or in pain and to help them live out their life and dreams to the fullest extent. Children play a very large role in their families, and when a child becomes sick, the whole family becomes distressed. Pediatricians not only heal children, but they help and prevent a family from suffering. I love medicine and children, and I hope to combine these two passions by becoming a pediatrician.

Having strong believers in my household my parents made known that, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens
The year was 2012: The Affordable Care Act was still in its infancy and I had just moved to Germany, where I would spend two years as a full-time volunteer. Amongst many other responsibilities, I often found myself in hospitals – gaining my first exposure to socialized medicine. It was during this time my fascination with healthcare management and the contrasting methods of delivery was realized. My time spent working with Franklin County Medical Center has given me a deep appreciation for rural, critical access hospitals and the vital role they play in the overall health of a community.
Healthcare, the conservation and improvement of physical and mental health, is often thought to be the responsibility of the sole individual and the medical professionals handling their care. However, like the nervous system within our bodies in which hundreds of neurons work in unison to maintain proper function and response to a stimulus, the healthcare system shares the rudimentary characteristic of connectivity seen within this physiological network. Connectivity is essential for the success of healthcare, in which several components such as the CFO of a hospital, a physician, and a pharmaceutical distributor must interact and make decisions that affect the livelihood of others. Often, there is a disconnection between these interworking parts leaving the community and patients at a disadvantage. For this reason, The MBA with Healthcare management concentration is a
Nothing beats the summer’s heat than being able to provide service for local organizations while engaging in great learning experiences that could expand the knowledge of a specific field. During the summer of 2017, I decided to volunteer and commit one hundred thirty hours to a local, nonprofit hospital that contributes excellent care to their patients and families. I knew that it would take a lot of personal commitment in order to achieve this goal especially since it was during the summer time, but I pushed myself to put my heart and mind into it until I successfully reach the goal. What really made me to join the volunteer team was the mission and the desire to make a different in patients’ lives. The story of how the hospital was founded
