Personality is a fascinating construct, and the number of different ways to measure and define personality are many. One of the models that I believe helps to provide a framework for me to define and describe my past experiences within the context of personality theory is based on the traits of Openness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion/Introversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. As I reflect on my personality in early life and as I think about my personality today, it seems that much of my personality has stayed the same. While some may argue that this would mean that there are strong and extremely salient genetic contributions to my personality, I think that my environment also helped to shape me into the person I am today. Extroversion has always been one of my biggest personality facets. I was the gregarious child who sat on the preschool teacher’s leg during story time, the class clown in elementary school, and the one who made friends with all of the different cliques that were ubiquitous in my high school. Some would say that this is genetically influenced to a large degree because both of my parents are also extremely extroverted and they enjoy social gatherings and large groups of people. However, in looking at my history, I see that the environment was ripe for social connectedness and being social was familiar and expected. If I was naturally extroverted (genetics), and grew up in a house of introverts who watched television and read books in the evenings instead of having dinner parties, I think that my extraversion would not be my strongest trait. Another strong personality trait of mine is my openness. As a child, I wanted to be everywhere and see everything. As a rambunctious child, I learned and explored, and as an adult, I do this, but in different ways. Overall, I do not think my personality has changed to a large degree since childhood, but my environment has definitely helped to keep some of my strong traits in check. As reported, both nature and nurture shaped my early life and developmental years of my personality. While I view nature as being those traits and characteristics passed down from my parents through their genes, I think of nurture as the environment in which I was raised,

Nature Vs Nurture is often the huge debate in psychology when it comes to determining and understanding individual’s characteristics traits. Nature is hereditary to our behavior while nurture is based on our environmental influences. Although most argue whether or not nature or nurture defines our characteristics, I believe both have an impact on we are.
There has always been a controversial debate based on nature vs nurture. What makes a person who they are today? Is it the genetic or their biological make-up? Or is it their environment; based on how they were brought up, social groups, societies values/beliefs? This question has been an interesting point of discussion between psychologists. Serial killers have always been fascinating because, they have usually murdered more than 3 people, so what makes them a serial killer? In my opinion I think both aspects contribute to your personality and how you are now.
Nature or Nurture. Nature may be all of the genes and hereditary factors with which influence them to become who they are such as physical appearances and personality characteristics. Nurturing impacts people’s lives as well as how they are raised and all the environmental factors. In combination, these qualities can be the true identity of oneself. Many people may argue that nurture appears to a play huge factor in the two, but others may think otherwise. Not having both as a characteristic can have a negative effect on a person physically and mentally. The debate of nature versus nurture appears to be the oldest argument known to man, and it still remains to be unanswered. In the old-age argument nature versus nurture, nature may play a huge role in determining a person’s true identity.
I feel that nurture has affected who I am in my life more than nature for the life stage I am currently in. Outside factors such as my parents divorce, my larger quantity of siblings, living in the city and the opportunities that gives me have made a strong impact on my decision making and personality.
No two people are alike, and no two personalities are alike. A personality is made up of different characteristics, which help to define a person. Per the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator everyone has a four-letter personality type with 16 different personality combinations. These personality types affect everyone’s personal, social and work life. My four-letter personality type is ISFJ (introvert, sensing, feeling and judgment).
The tests related with personality intrigue people because human personality is a very curious topic for people. Everyone wants to know about their personality and the internet has become the easiest method to access any personality test that claims to solve your queries about your own. People take interest into these tests and end up being fooled by some vague claims made by a machine that has all remarks and conclusions fitted in it. I was no exception to it when I decided to take a personality test and get included in the list of those people who got duped by such tests.
Nature versus Nurture is the issue of the degree to which environment and heredity influence behavior and development. In this issue nature can be defined as, behaviors due to heredity. Which means behaviors are based on the genetic makeup of an individual and is an influence of the individuals' growth and development throughout life. On the other hand nurture are causes of behaviors that are environmental. Which means the influence is from, parents, siblings, family, friends and all other experiences to which the individual is exposed to.

The characteristics of nature vs. nurture are quite different. Nature is those qualities about a person that are deemed genetic. Such genetics heritability includes a person’s color and gender. Nature is a person’s biological determinism. Characteristics of nurture include environmental variation and external influences. These characteristics are dependent on such factors as social status and education and the influence these factors have on a person’s character. In my opinion, both nature and nurture uniformly determine of person’s personality and intelligence. This opinion is widely debated but not debunked.
However with advantages come disadvantages. For example, with correlational studies there is no background information obtained. Therefore, the reliability of the correlational studies is questioned.
Our first question, how are nature and nurture identified? Nature is seen as the genes, inheritances, and biology that are passed on to you through your parents (www.goodtherapy.org). This means, believers on the nature side see your biological parents pass onto you defines your personality, health and behavior later on in life. This could be credited by your genetic makeup. Nurture is seen as the influence of external factors, that are adopted at birth, which means that your life is pressured by the world around you (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov),(www.simplyphyscology.org). Many people believe that natural influences can cause a person to return back to the ways of the cavemen and
Nature and nurture are not the same they affect in different ways. Nature is in your genes, with what abilities or skills you were born. Nurture is how the environment affect you.
Nature is the individual’s inheritance while nurture is an individual 's experiences within the environment around oneself. Nature and nurture both help influence behaviors and personalities. With that being said, I believe that temperaments, behaviors, and personalities are mostly developed by nurture instead of nature. I personally feel like genetics are more physical and less psychological. Aggression, anxiety, and many other emotional traits can be affected on how an individual acts, but I think that nurture overrides that and teaches them how to deal with those traits, which would result to behavior. I strongly feel that my personality was more influenced by nurture rather than nature because I think people act by previous experiences and emotions rather just naturally knowing what to do and how to act. I can relate this topic to myself and dance. I have to be at practice in order to know the moves and techniques of the dance. I can’t just show up at state, go on the floor, and expect to know the routine and what to do since my mother was a dancer too. I personally
