Johnny is a five year old boy who lives with his mother, two biological siblings and three step siblings. Johnny is known as a very hyperactive, funny, friendly child who has a very outgoing personality. Johnny’s dad one noticed that Johnny was acting a little more withdrawn than usual, and was not showing interest in the activities that once made him excited. As time went by Johnny started to get into physically altercations with his teachers and other students at the school. Johnny's mother cuddles with him all the time and sleeps in the bed with Johnny while Johnny's younger sibling who was nine months old slept alone in her own room. Johnny's dad also found out that Johnny at the age of five was still being breastfed, while his younger sister who is nine months old, has been weaned off. Johnny's mother would buy him treats and shower him with kisses while johnny other two siblings were given the cold shoulder by thier mother. Johnny felt a great amount of guilt, remorse and sadness and wished that his mother could give his siblings the same love she gives him. While in public, Johnny is made fun of by his friends and other kids when they see him getting breastfed at the age of five. Some kids went as far as shoving him and refused to play with Johnny and calling him weird and gross. Johnny's

Johnny’s parents are abusive and don’t treat him with any emotional or physical support. In the book a quote is “Johnny’s father was a drunk and his mother was a selfish slob”. The gang helps Johnny in a lot of ways another quote says “Johnny would have run away a million times if we hadn’t been there. If it hadn’t been for the gang, Johnny would never
Over the last 100 years, the underpinning concepts in the fields of psychology and counseling were wrought. Within this period, these concepts have transformed and evolved from somewhat crude conceptions of the psyche toward more holistic interventions and approaches. As the profession continues to move forward, adaptations of the original theorists regarding the nature of man and the development of personality continue to emerge. These adaptations, along with the integration of new concepts and ideas, continue to contribute to the field. The author describes his view of man and human nature, personality development, and explores potential implications for counseling.
She’s probably come to tell me about all the trouble I’m causing her and about how glad her and the old man’ll be when I’m dead.” This shows that Johnny’s mother doesn't deserve to see him because instead of thinking of Johnny, she instead only thinks about herself. Most parents are not liked by their children, but that is because the parents care too much. This is the opposite for Johnny’s mother, she is a selfish person, who doesn’t even care that her child is in the hospital, and that is wrong.
No two people are alike, and no two personalities are alike. A personality is made up of different characteristics, which help to define a person. Per the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator everyone has a four-letter personality type with 16 different personality combinations. These personality types affect everyone’s personal, social and work life. My four-letter personality type is ISFJ (introvert, sensing, feeling and judgment).
In the end, Johnny has self-worth and this helps him get over his abandonment. In conclusion, Johnny’s life is fulfilled because he is able to fight for his country, and he has trusted

When Johnny was maturing, he began to bear appreciation for certain things. One of the things he started to treasure was the smocks his mother had made for him. Before, Johnny had not recognized the love that had gone into their creation. When he was young, he would be too proud to even put those smocks on. However, now that he has grown, he saw the smocks in a whole new light. When getting a smock in the attic to give to Pumpkin, a British soldier who wants to desert the army, Johnny started to adore them for he finally was able to see that his mother’s love went into making these
• Johnny’s parents hated him, beat and cursed at him, didn’t care where he was or what happened to him
In his ten years of living with her, he was abused, mentally and physically. He would get whipped, cut, beaten, shot, unfed, etc. then the children were not any better in the neighborhood. They would pick on him, insult him and his mother, beat him when he was alone. But there was one person who was there for him, that person was Officer Malley Jones. He was a well respected officer, and that went especially for Johnny, as one day when the other children were ganging up on Johnny, all

The Effects of Manipulation on Teenage Boys The historical-fiction Johnny Tremain, by Esther Forbes, illustrates the effects of manipulation on teenage boys in the 18th century. The human and societal impacts on Johnny show themselves as cumulative effects that build on each other from their beginning. The human influences ascend from characters that prove to Johnny that they are different than his initial thought. The human and societal factors are like two wings to a bird, because they affect each other when manipulating Johnny. Experienced by the male youth of today, the manipulations Johnny experiences demonstrate the change in him as a person throughout the book.
However with advantages come disadvantages. For example, with correlational studies there is no background information obtained. Therefore, the reliability of the correlational studies is questioned.
Johnny’s internal issues are as equally grievous as his external issues. He practically raised his siblings since he was six years old, and started to work in factories when he was seven. Due to his early start transferring to adulthood, he never really had the chance to experience a jovial and enjoyable childhood. Johnny “had been robbed of a large part of that playtime by being compelled to take care of [his siblings] … he had fallen the part of little mother and father as well” (8). Johnny does not have any pleasurable memories to look back on and confirm that his upbringing readied him to steadily transition to adulthood. His mother is not a major help in his life, consequently making him uphold both roles of provider and supporter when it comes to his family. With no time for himself, it was evident in Johnny’s face that “there was no joyousness in him…
