Some opportunities only come once in a lifetime. This is one of those occasions. The U.S Department is offering a chance to be part of a sponsor study abroad opportunity for students in a wide range of majors. I believe I’m the right person for this opportunity. As a full time employee in one of the biggest manufactures corporations, a student in Purdue University as well as ivy tech community college and being part of the great Lafayette, Indiana community I feel certain that I meet the requirements necessary for this program. This opportunity benefits more than one party, from our community, to the host country, and of course I as well. I come from a Hispanic/ Latino background. I grew up being exposed to two different cultures. At home I lived in a Salvadorian culture, due to my family’s Hispanic background. Outside my house, I interacted and learned the American culture and customs. I see myself as someone who was fortune it enough to get to absorb both cultures as a kid. There’s a phrase in Spanish that goes like “vales por dos”, which means being able to speak Spanish and English makes us be worth twice as much. I believe this study abroad is a great chance for someone like me to keep on working on my qualifications and skills to become the best I can be. I want this opportunity because it will open so many doors for me. Diversity is a big factor that drives our economy and our daily lives. Everywhere we go we can see the presence and feel the different cultures
I had the amazing privilege to serve as an informal ambassador for my country of birth (Italy), clearing up cultural stereotypes, and creating positive connections between two cultures. I had the joy of meeting people from other cultures. Sharing problems, connecting with cultural differences and similarities gave me the opportunity to learn not only about other cultures but also about local and global issues. The desire to understand these issues, and to solve them (like for example immigration issues with Mexican-born people living in the United States) inspired me to apply for the study abroad program-language immersion in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
Traveling always force ladies to dwell on their monthly menstrual cycle. It at times becomes very challenging and exasperating if you know that your periods are coming close to your traveling dates and you cannot alter or reschedule your travel dates. Because of lengthy hours of journey, frenzied traveling schedule and restricted time at the disposal could cause tiredness, frustration, which might cause menstrual period to come early or even befall irregular bleeding.
Being an athletes is one of the best-paid jobs on Earth. Being that they are paid so much the cost for the consumer is very high. The prices of tickets and sports memorabilia have been steadily rising over the years. The average ticket prices for the NHL, MLB, NBA and NFL all rose 5% to 10% this year, according to Jon Greenberg, executive editor of Team Marketing Report. (Mihoces).
The cost of college tuition is continually on the rise and has placed many burdens on high school students as well as their families. Some of the burdens that are placed are a result of parents putting pressure on their children to earn scholarships. Some of the burden is a result of students putting pressure on themselves to earn scholarships. Then, there is the burden of high college debt once the student graduates. Is this pressure really helping our students or is it hurting them? The bottom line is college tuition is skyrocketing out of control and something must be done before it destroys our families and our children.
When in Rome! I chose to pick a study abroad program because I want to explore the world. I think it is a perfect idea to get a chance to travel to another country and earn college credits. I chose Rome because that is where I think I will be more comfortable to visit while in college. It is full of culture, fashion, great cuisines, art, and many more! It has always been on my bucket list to go to Italy. It is the perfect opportunity to visit the country especially while I am in college. I remember watching Lizzie McGuire as a child and she went to Rome and impersonated an Italian pop star, Isabella. She met this handsome man who took her to tour the city. Everyone eventually realized he was using her to ruin Isabella, but it was still a happy ending for Lizzie McGuire. I wanted that happy ending it looked like so much fun running around Rome. The expenses are outstanding for the trip, but at least I have an agenda all laid out by the program.
I believe that our president elect, Donald Trump's decision to ban of immigration and travel is constitutional. The issue we are facing is that Mr. Donald Trump’s request for a law to ban immigration and travel into the United States from seven countries was denied by court to be “unconstitutional”. There are many people who are involved in this issue for example, U.S. citizens,Donald Trump, the federal court, and the seven countries that were to be banned. Which are Iraq,Iran,Syria,Yemen,Sudan,Libya, and Somalia. This issue is very important because according to “www..law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1182” whenever the president finds that an entry of any aliens or any class of aliens into the U.S. would be determined to the issue of the U.S.
The study Abroad Program is a unique opportunity for myself as a student at BMCC. As a Liberal Arts student and Italian Language learner, I believe and trust myself that I can make great use of this amazing language that I have put a lot of desire and commitment into.
The world has so many different things to contribute when it comes to customs, knowledge, and ways of going about life. If people have the oppurtunity to travel they should take advantage of it. Which is why I want to participate in one of UK’s study abroad programs. Traveling the world has always been something I’ve wanted to do, and what better way to do it then through your education. UK offers so many different programs in so many different areas, I’ll be able to use this study abroad program to not only enhance myself and education, but to also enhance and educate those around me. I’ll be able to learn different customs and expand my knowledge then bring it all back to my home at

A vacation is a furlough from an employment or an excursion typically for the intention of recreation or tourism. Individuals frequently take a vacation in the course of a holiday observances or for specific occasions or events. Despite that, traveling can be complicated due to planning; you have to narrow your decisions on reasons why you want to go that particular location. The reasons may vary and it differs for every person. Moreover, those reasons categorize in different sorts like a romance getaway, exploring your fantasy destination, family quality time, and educational encounters.
“Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics,” announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. “What is your topic Cindy?” As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. “Waffles are better than pancakes.” I figured that a waffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. “Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!” I survived to live yet another day.
My interest in studying abroad stems from my unique experiences as a Taiwanese American growing up in Texas with practically all of my relatives living thousands of miles away from me. Starting from my first summer, and almost every summer after, I flew 15+ hours to see my relatives. I had the opportunity to experience night markets, new scenic views, and a completely different culture. With each visit, my love of traveling grew. I knew that I wanted to travel as often and to as many countries as I possibly could.
Why spend money that is really needed for other things? Why live uncomfortably? Why be trapped in this hole called a home that belongs to another person? Why not live free and peacefully? When a person rents he or she usually throws away money that could be used to purchase something that belongs to them. Money is not easy to come by so why pay out hundreds toward something that is not benefit to the person paying it out. There is no good explanation for making a decision like this. The best option in a situation like this is to buy a house. Buying a house is a better option than renting an apartment.
Whenever I asked older students or alumna what they regretted most about college, the number one response I would hear involved their disappointment in not studying abroad and experiencing the culture and academic challenge it offered. There responses remained with me as a reminder that there was more out there to experience than a classroom in the middle of Minnesota. However, many factors played into my decision to study abroad and ultimate acceptance into a study abroad program in Ireland, and did not come without its challenges. I am a biracial, first-generation college student, and a second generation American on my father’s side. It was difficult enough to urge my father to support me going to college, much less one that was two hours away; you can probably imagine his horror and immediate denial when I expressed interest in studying abroad in an entirely different country, especially when I originally wanted to study in Guatemala. Not only was he concerned about safety but, there remains the concern about financials.
In the purpose of relaxing yourself and broadening horizon, why not go to travel on vacation? Summer is always a busy tourist season for resorts like mountains or grand canyon in my hometown, Linyi, Shandong Province. And Grand Canyon of Yishui is a great magnet for tourists, so I can guarantee that it will let the person's mind and body dulcify. Here, you can enjoy various of karst caves, feel native enthusiasm, understand our culture, make friends with different people. Equally important is that it’s a marvelous place to escape the heat-wave. Everything here is so striking and unforgettable, so it’s really worth visiting. So hurry up to pack your luggage and start on your journey!
