I learned from experience that you should never cheat on a test. If you get caught, the consequences are not always the best and it can cause great embarrassment if you are considered a “good, well-behaved student” by your peers and teachers. When you put your best foot forward and try to do the work without just copying the answers down to cheat off of, you will actually learn something. You would not need to rely on the cheat sheet you made or wanted to make. If you do cheat and get caught, take it as a lesson learned. It is not the best experience ever had and it may just cause you to be disappointed in yourself. One day I was in my sixth grade Language Arts class. I believe for that week, on purple hall, which is where my team …show more content…
She looked at me and said, “I will email your mom about this.” By that point I was majorly embarrassed and thinking about what my mom would say and do. That was my first period class and I had to deal with my next four classes before I could go home. By the time third period rolled around, people had already heard about someone getting caught cheating on the etymology quiz in LA. I heard from people that Mrs. Hambrey was telling the students not to try and cheat because someone in her first period already got caught cheating on the quiz. It was finally the end of the day and it was time to go home. I decided not to tell my mom because of the humiliation that it would bring me and because I and I didn’t want to get in trouble. Thinking back to that day, telling my mom that I cheated on a quiz probably would’ve been the best choice. Friday afternoon and Saturday had gone by and Mrs. Hambrey had still not sent the email I honestly thought that she had forgotten about Friday morning. When I came back home from church on Sunday, my mom called me upstairs to her room when I entered the house. Immediately I got a sense of fear and felt nervous. When I got there she said, “What happened on Friday?” My heart dropped right then and there. I decided to try and play it cool by saying, “ I don’t know.” Long story short, Mrs. Hambrey had emailed my mom that I was caught cheating on her quiz the same
As an observer who often sees students getting in trouble for what they have done, I never would have thought that one day, the student would be me. I am unable to recall exactly what day of the year it was, but I remember what happened clearly. That day, everything seemed to go so well; I had a great day with my friends and the school day was coming to an end. Suddenly that evening, at 2:12 PM, my day began to get worse, as if I got jinxed. During passing period before my last class, I decided to go use the restroom and unsurprisingly, the girls restroom was packed. By the time I got to class, I remember clearly that I had arrived a second or two after the last bell had rung. That day, my teacher happened to be standing by the door during passing period and when I got to class she said, “I want you to write me a page on why you
The next day, as promised, she handed out a short pop quiz. It was not as challenging as she tried to make it sound. It presented only five multiple choice questions on it. Once we finished our quizzes, she told us to read the next chapter silently. Once I finished my quiz at the speed of light, I decided to finish other homework, since I preferred to read at home anyway. So while the rest of my class was reading, I worked on homework. Thirty minutes later, I completely finished all of my other assignments, so I decided to start reading the chapter. After nearly two paragraphs in, my teacher interrupted the class to see if everyone finished reading the chapter. Unknown to me, the chapter was fairly short and everyone, but me, finished it. Raising my hand slowly, I told her that I had not finished reading. Everyone in my class turned around and stared at me. The teacher asked me how far I was in the chapter and how much time I needed to
Sport is a global phenomenon, it is a common between all the nations of the world there is not one culture that has not engaged in a way or another in some type of sporting activity; such activities are not only often physically challenging and mentally stimulating – they also provide a sense of belonging and personal meaning to people’s lives. In American culture like many other cultures worldwide winning is highly prized and cherished by fame and money from audiences and sponsors.
Over 7,500 animals are killed in zoos because they are deemed surplus, as stated by Liz Tyson an animals rights activist. This giraffe in particular sparked a huge controversy. HIs name was Marius, he was homed at the Copenhagen Zoo and was 2 years old when the staff killed him with a bolt gun. Marius was then dissected and fed to lions in front of ongoing zoo goers. What got people fuming is that he was a healthy, young giraffe. Therefore I believe the killing of Marius should not be justified.
The cost of college tuition is continually on the rise and has placed many burdens on high school students as well as their families. Some of the burdens that are placed are a result of parents putting pressure on their children to earn scholarships. Some of the burden is a result of students putting pressure on themselves to earn scholarships. Then, there is the burden of high college debt once the student graduates. Is this pressure really helping our students or is it hurting them? The bottom line is college tuition is skyrocketing out of control and something must be done before it destroys our families and our children.
The bell had just rang, school was out. “Olivia, Mrs. Larsson calls.” Olivia is in 6th grade. Her teacher Mrs. Larsson talks to her every day after school telling her the same thing over and over. “You been misbehaving at lunch today”! But this time it was different. “Olivia it's your turn to stay after school and clean the room”. Olivia hated cleaning the room after school, she always ended up staying too late. “ Now run along and tell your mother, I don’t want her to worry like she did last time!” “Ok Mrs. Larsson.” I reply, I run to call my mom but she didn't answer, and my dad was at work so I couldn't call him. “Yup my mom knows.” I say, but she really didn't. “Ok then, well I am going to go home so behave yourself!” Mrs. Larsson says
It was my first year of elementary. Every recess, my friends and I would play tag, until our feet would collapse.
The idea of cheating has gained a lot of popularity in the media. Pro athletes caught using illicit drugs to gain a competitive advantage are condemned and often have the awards they've been given revoked. Even professional e-sport players have been caught using drugs such as adderall to gain a professional advantage. The competitive sports scene is not the only place where people use any means necessary to gain an edge. "Study drugs" are also often used in academia. What justification could there be for these people to be morally OK with their actions? Is cheating ever OK?
One sunny morning Shawn and his friend Joe did the usual routine of going to school. It was a private school. They would get up take a shower, then they would get dressed. After they would get dressed, they would meet up in the town park and decide where they were going to get breakfast. Shawn said let's go to McDonalds so they went and got breakfast. After they ate, they would start on the two mile hike to school. On their way to school they would run, play tag, and just have fun because having fun at their school was prohibited.
As leagues of grad school and university-level students start flooding back onto campuses, many department and retail stores are hosting "Back-to-School" discounts and other methods of saving money. What does that matter to me? you ask. Even if you aren't going to school this Autumn, you can benefit from the hordes of school savings. As always, PPcorn has your back with these seven facts for the non-collegian.
There were multiple things I did wrong, I lied and cheated. I was dishonest to Josh and Hayden. The reason this is a bad thing is that it hurt people I love. Lying will ruin relationships with people who are the closest to you. If lying was a regular thing, life would be difficult. People would have to figure out right from wrong and not even rely on books at that point. To lie is to achieve a purpose that has no beneficial ending. In the end of this grounding, I can definitely assure you I will not be lying again. This was not worth every cent of lying. In my life, I can’t imagine someone doing this to me. If Hayden lied to me, I honestly wouldn’t know because Hayden is a very good liar. I’m just joking, but it wouldn’t want to talk to them or trust them anymore. I couldn’t understand someone close to me, lying. In the end, the biggest person I hurt in the end was me.
I went the whole day without noticing I didn’t finish my math. When we got to math class Mr. Littrell told us to get out our math to grade. It was one of those I-don’t-have-time-for-this assignments. I got mine out and noticed I didn’t do the whole back page. Blake saw and told Mr Littrell I didn’t finish my work. He said, “Well, that’s a HINAO.” He gave me the paper and told me to go call. I was really scared because I never had one before. I got in the office and gave Mrs. Stoball the paper. She told me to go ahead and call. I was so scared, I couldn’t even figure out how to use the phone. I eventually figured it out and called my mom. She didn’t answer, so I left a message. I was pretty sure I didn’t do it right. At the
I do apologize for any inconvenience I may be causing you, but I have questions about my grade in swrk 630 as well as the finish. I would like to know where I said as far as my grade in the course. I also have questions about the final. Are we using the case study presented by another group to complete this paper? Could you please give me a little more detail?
Kim Harrison say that “ Breaking rules isn't bad when what you're doing is more important than the rule itself.” In discussion of rebellion, one controversial issue has been showing that everyone's bewilderment. On the one hand, people argued that it is unsuitable to infringe the rules. On the other hand, people demonstrate that it is justified to contravene the rules. However, I believe that it is right to break the rules when it support a cause you believe in, unfairly and understandable.
Having escaped rule from a tyrannical British government, the United States was founded on ideals of freedom and equality for all people. These fantasies of universal egalitarianism turned out to be merely that: fantasies. American history is full of stories of the oppressed struggling to get the rights they deserve and of the controversy over these issues that consequently ensues. “The Hypocrisy of American Slavery” by Frederick Douglass and “We Shall Overcome” by Lyndon B. Johnson are two speeches made confronting two of these issues. Douglass’s speech, delivered in 1852, condemns the institution of slavery and maintains that slaves are men and are therefore entitled to freedom. Johnson’s speech, on the other hand, was written in 1965 and discussed the civil rights movement. In it, he implored local governments to allow all American citizens, regardless of race, to vote. Despite the significant gap in time between these two addresses, both speakers use similar persuasive techniques, including ethos, pathos, and parallelism, to convince their audience that change needs to be implemented in America.
