People should be able to choose whether they want to have health insurance or not. It’s your choice into believing that you’re going to be healthy your entire life and something doesn’t happen to your body and starts acting a different way and you get real. I believe that in the end it should be your own choice but everyone should not always just rely on themselves because we may fail and we won’t have any back up. I say you should have health insurance because just to make sure that in the future something happens it’ll be taken care of and you won’t need to worry about having to ba a lot of money because you are very seriously in need for help.
After seven years of promising to repeal Obamacare, Republicans expected that taking control of the two elected branches of government would make reaching that goal simple. With their latest stumble in doing so, we can draw two important lessons.First, judging policy packages by their partisan wrappers rather than their actual parts can be a mistake. Second, the design of the Affordable Care Act of 2010 shares many similarities with its predecessors: the 1935 Social Security Act, the 1965 creation of Medicare and Medicaid. All of these major pieces of social legislation at first faced skepticism or even opposition and then became part of American life.
The Act prevented insurance companies from canceling coverage when people became sick, and out-of-pocket costs would be covered for proven preventive and screening services, such as
In the United States, Americans have been given the opportunity to obtain affordable insurance. Everyone in the world would like to be able to go to the doctor and receive quality and affordable healthcare, and be able to purchase the things the physician say you need in order to stay healthy. Many people in America with different medical diagnosis are not covered by their insurance company even under the new health care reform law, because their medical need does not fit the medical necessity criteria for covered health care services. The current health care reform have various positive results, but the Act have many negative concerns that need restructuring when it comes to defining what medical necessities are.
US health care is one of the most talked about or controversial topics in last few years. We often come across debates, articles or columns relating to this topic. This is a hot topic of this generation. Why everyone should have insurance? Why people should have for something that might not use? These are some of the questions we found ourselves surrounding by. In my opinion US citizens should be required to have insurance. Both men and women have separate needs when it comes to health. More women are facing health issues because of teen pregnancies and child birth, it is important to for everyone to have a health care plan according to their needs. So when the time comes right treatment and medical attention can be provided. In this piece I will be presenting some ideas and arguments supporting my side and also looking at the flip side of the discussion.
Imagine not having decent health care (if any) for children. What if they got sick or hurt and the care they received was poor? Health care is crucial for children, and our society needs to be aware. Children all around the world, let alone America, get sick/hurt and need quality care to cure them. Many children under the age of eighteen do not even have access to the medical care they need. Children need to have access to care. That care should also have quality. It is important for children to have medical insurance. That insurance needs to be accepted by all doctors. This is because many children have medical issues and needs so it is important for them to be checked up on. People need to start paying more attention to children’s health issues. Also, children who are under poverty have an even harder time finding health care. It is very important for children to get the correct care they need.
With the passing of the contentious and highly debated American Health Care Act less than a month ago, Americans on all sides of the political spectrum have become fiercely divided over the act and its benefits. Members of the Democratic party contend that the act is lacking it its coverage, whereas Republicans argue that the bill is an economic nightmare which doesn’t do enough to control the rampant costs of Obamacare and its medicaid expansion. One might ask as to which sides complaints are more valid, and for the most part both Democrats and Republicans are both valid in their indignation for the American Health Care Act.
Attending a college is crucial to be successful as more young Americans continues with their bachelor degree. Potential employers require unique skills in today’s job market, and obtaining a college degree is a must to be competitive in the labor force. Deciding on a major study was not a simple task. With numerous of degree programs and job out there, making a final decision came along with deep thinking.
An eighty-year-old woman, Marietta Wright, had a long and heart-breaking experience with health care system. Ms. Wright was due for surgery for what was thought to be a spinal compression fracture. Two days before her surgery a MRI showed that her spin was completely covered by cancer. The surgery was not cancelled to address the new-found cancer, so it when on as planned. The operation for something that did not even exist weakened Marrietta Wright's physical and mental health. Leaving her and her family in despair. As Marietta's conditions worsened a mistake was make and she was given the wrong dosage of antidepressants. Sending Ms. Wright's mental health over the edge. This is why it is critical that we reform health care, so that no more families have to go through the pain that Marietta Wright's family when through. When pursuing a career in nursing Health Care is the biggest issue in the industry, the quality is not of high standards, and it is far too costly, yet if we can lower cost, raise quality we will make Health Care a well-oiled machine this issue in the nursing industry will disappear.
I want you to imagine that someone very close to you has recently been diagnosed with a serious medical illness. You are left in a panic and want to do everything possible in order to insure their safety, but then you realize that they are not covered. They weren’t able to get the healthcare that they needed to save their life, so you were left there helpless. You were forced to watch them suffer because they were unable to pay for the very simple treatment that they needed because of their healthcare, and that was what decided their fate. Now I want you to imagine what it feels like if because of their unfortunate healthcare, they were not able to recover and died. You would feel devastated that you couldn’t have done more to help your loved one, but then it dawns on you. You could have saved them. If only they were able to get the same treatment as someone who was able to afford better healthcare, then they would still be alive. Their life was sacrificed simply because they were seen as an opportunity to make money, rather than a person who needed help. Healthcare in America should be changed because universal healthcare is proven to be more effective, more lives will be saved, it is constantly receiving warranted attention from the media, and it gets rid of social classes in healthcare, even though many people believe that they will be paying for other people’s healthcare.
In the Book Thief, Markus Zusak wrote, “It kills me sometimes, how people die.” Zusak is upholding the age-old adage that dying, no matter how one dies, is undeniably despairing. The standard way of thinking about death has is that there is a great emphasis on how, we as people, die. For those who will die from terminal illness is often after enduring long and protracted suffering. When pain relief can no longer be provided, patients should have the right to request a death with dignity (DWD). This is a practice that allows the terminally ill to obtain and use a self-administered lethal drug. However, only in five states, one state being Oregon, is the practice legal. It is prohibited in the other 45 due to ethical and moral concerns. The illegality takes away a person’s fundamental right to choose how they die. I propose legalizing the Death with Dignity Act in all states because it is safe and ethical choice that should be an option for all patients facing a terminal illness.
In the United States today 700,000 Americans go bankrupt due to medical expenses and 20,000 Americans die because they cannot afford the costs of health care. Switzerland for example, everyone gets health care that is mandated by employers, they can get medical care from a basic doctor or buy a supplemental insurance to improve their care. Their prices are kept low because they cap prices and they are a nonprofit. For the U.S. to make health care more affordable we need to not let our health care be tied to our job because once you lose your job you lose your insurance. The Medicare edibility age now is 65 allowing the elderly to have that cheap medical care sooner than they most likely need it, which the age should be raised to 67 or higher, this would save 10's billions of dollars. With all of the new and advanced technology we have, we need to not proceed with unnecessary tests (CT scans, MRI, blood work) that costs thousands of dollars extra. Our country needs to work to model Switzerland's health care system, for everyone to get the right a necessary care that they need.

Health insurance is a must in the current times. Without health insurance you're left with huge hospital bills; or fear to even go to the doctor because of the medical bills. Having people in fear of seeking medical attention for issues that need to be addressed is scary. This is exactly what Hobby Lobby and Wheaton College did when they took away health care options to employees and students.
The United States of America is ranked 37 out of 190 in top health care systems in the world. These systems are ranked by quality, access, and cost. Our insurance is a very flawed system and is a disgrace when compared to several other countries. We have scored very low for a developed country which shows that our government needs to look at this and figure out how we can make it better.
“Healthcare is a basic need of every human being. It should be considered as a basic human right in which the nation should ensure that every people are covered by equal healthcare regardless the age, gender, and income” (Post, “Pros & Cons”). While healthcare is considered a basic human right by some, it is also a right to have the freedom to choose whether or not one should partake in having healthcare; People should not receive penalties for not having health insurance as some families cannot afford to be paying for it, and programs like Obamacare do not provide full coverage to all like it stated it would making it a place to dump money for some simply because it is required by the government. Solutions to address these problems have been stated such as single payer healthcare, but there is a reason that America cannot switch overnight to a system such as this.
Year after year, millions of Americans suffer the hardships due to the inaccessibility of Health Care. Studies done by the US Census Bureau have shown that in 2014, 33 million people in the United States did not have health insurance. This raises problems in our society due to the fact that without Health Insurance, people who become seriously ill or are on the verge of losing their life are not able to be saved or kept alive. In my personal opinion, I believe that all people in the United States should have access to Health Care without having to give an arm and a leg to ensure that their family member will live.
As a former overweight and unhealthy individual, the sense of pride, the boost in self-esteem, and the increase in mental sharpness—the list goes on and on—that I have experienced are incredibly positive benefits from leading a healthy lifestyle. In University Park, there are few students who take advantage of the various fitness centers across campus. Many students struggle with body hate, eating disorders, and risk of obesity or health concerns. Through the implementation of providing positive incentives as rewards for exercising and becoming active, sedentary students will be exposed to the plethora of long-term benefits that working out entails. To eliminate the concern for health risks, Penn State Student Affairs should implement a three-week health plan where students are given a prize, such as merchandise or apparel up to seventy-five dollars in return for exercising 4 hours per week for all three weeks.
