America has always been known as the land of the free. Home to the brave, the strong, and the courageous. July 4, 1776 was when when our founding fathers declared America as an independent country. Since then, America has thrived to become one of the best civilizations known to man, and grew to be one of the most powerful countries in the world. America was not built on weakness, and fear, but rather the American Dream! The American values, ethics, and morals that we have built over the last centuries. For so many years, America has flourished in the face tragedies, and stood up to the things we feared. And now, when disaster is at our front door, nothing needs to change. The war in Syria has been a continuous threat to Syrian citizens, neighboring countries, and in many ways has affected the U.S. As Syrians flee from their country, they migrate to Europe, Turkey, and many other neighboring countries nearby. We as Americans should feel obligated to help Syrians, and welcome them freely into our country. As a nation built on immigrants …show more content…

As an official of Obama’s administration stated, “all refugees of all nationalities considered for admission to the United States undergo intensive security screening, and this involves multiple federal intelligence, security, and law enforcement agencies” ( ). While going through a thorough vetting system, the U.S government has added another layer of screening, called the “Syria Enhanced Review”. ( ) The Syria Enhanced Review further pushes the security measure that America is taking in order to accept refugees. This new layer of screening allows officials to get more indepth with their interview questions, and ensures that refugees entering the U.S do not pose a threat to America.
