Introduction I. The second amendment reads as follows, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. This means that American citizens have the right to have and use guns and other weapons respectively. II. The purpose of my speech today is to tell you why the government should not increase gun control laws. Body I. First of all, guns aren’t the real killer and would take away an option for self protection. A. A criminal is defined as someone who has committed a crime. A gun is defined as a weapon that uses bullets and makes loud noises. The gun is being used to commit the crime, but it’s not the thing actually committing the crime. Guns don't kill people; people kill people. Criminals break laws, even though they exist. A stone-cold criminal won’t suddenly have a change of heart just because a new law about they plan to do has been created. Australia issued a gun ban, which resulted in the armed robberies going up 69%, assaults with guns going up 28%, gun murders going up 19%, and home invasions going up 21%. B. “While gun ownership doubled in the twentieth century, the murder rate decreased.” C. Guns are used for self defense 2.5 million times a year. D. 61% of men and 51% of women said stricter gun laws would make it more difficult for them to protect their homes. E. Police can’t always be on scene seconds after they’re called especially in less populated areas such as
Therefor we can say that there was no mention of an individual right to bear arms in the notes about the Second Amendment when it was being drafted, discussed, or ratified; the US Supreme Court declined to rule in favor of the individual right four times between 1876 and 1939; and all law articles on the Second Amendment from 1888 to 1959 stated that an individual right was not guaranteed.
The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution is the amendment of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right to keep and bear arms. The amendment clearly states that a well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. This means that citizens of the United States shall be able to carry firearms within reason to do so, when pertaining to safety. The Second Amendment has been disputed over the years and has become very controversial for many reasons. On one hand, it is considered to be one of the most important amendments in the Constitution because it presents the citizens of the United States with a means to protect themselves. On the other hand, some feel that over the years, certain citizens have over stepped their second amendment rights and as a result, there have been a number of national tragedies with numerous casualties.

Gun control has been a debatable issue for all times. This essay aims to put forward an argument against gun control. The essay asserts that prevalence of gun control should not be a part of the society. Society should be against gun control because people should be able to protect themselves, the crime rate would decrease, and people have the right to bear arms.
Gun violence is one of the most serious problems in the United States. Each year in the U.S., more than 35,000 people are killed by guns, a death rate much higher than that in any other industrial nations. In 1997, approximately 70 percent of the murders in the United States were committed with guns. However, ironically, the United States also is the country that has the most gun control laws. Gun control laws generally focus on passing legislation—by local state, or national government—to restrict legal ownership of certain firearms. Seemingly, gun control laws may decrease criminals’ access to guns, but in fact the same laws also have their negative effects. Thus, the controversy over gun control is always heated. But my paper is not
The second amendment is “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. The Second Amendment protects an individual 's right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that weapon for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.
The Second Amendment in our constitution, is one that is commonly mistaken. The Second Amendment does not state that a single citizen has the right to protect themselves with a gun. Most people do not know the text actually says, "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear
In today’s society it’s easy to find something in a newspaper, magazine, or on television that portrays the scrutiny of guns in the home. While reading or viewing such opinions it can possibly influence one to see issues in a particular way. It is not my goal to persuade you to lean in a specific direction but to see the issue from different angles. When viewing both arguments you are faced with reflecting on your own opinion and possibly agreeing more firmly with your own choice or changing your outlook and coming across the subject in a new way.
November the 5th, 2017 Devin Patrick Kelley shot up a Baptist Church in the small town of Sutherland Springs, killing 26 people. Amongst these murders was the pastor's daughter, who was only 14 years old. Another being a 8 month baby. Nobody in the church stood a chance against the countless firearms being held against them that sunday morning. Gun violence is nothing knew to this world. Every year people lose their lives to gun violence, majority if the time being a deliberate attack. When are we as a state, or as a country going to rid ourselves of the machines that have claimed millions of lives. When are we going to put down are foot and say “enough is enough?” Will it be the next time someone decides to shoot up an elementary school, slaughtering the lives of children? Or will it be when you come face to face with gun violence yourself. It is time that we take action to control gun violence.
There are certain dangers that children are guaranteed to encounter in their daily life, and teaching children important safety practices fall upon the adults in children's life, whether that be parents, relatives, and teachers. Throughout their life children are going to be offered drugs, cross busy streets, and be bullied by other kids. Schools have put safety and educational classes in place to mitigate the risks of these issues of drugs and street traffic, yet teaching kids about gun safety seems to be lacking in most public school settings. It does not matter whether someone believes in the ownership of guns or not, guns are here in America and despite the controversial view on firearms, there should be firearm safety education taught

3. Tougher rules won’t keep criminals from obtaining firearms. Guns should not be banned because criminals will now be the only ones who have the guns, holding the general public's safety in danger
Gun ownership should be banned in order to reduce crime rates and ensure the protection of our nation’s people. Throughout the United States, gun control has become a controversial issue due to gun advocates strongly believing their 2nd Amendment rights guarantee them legal access to guns. Although gun advocates view gun ownership as self defense, the government and gun control supporters have noticed that legal distribution of guns has been linked to school shootings, homicide, and violent crimes. Furthermore, legal distribution of guns increases the risk of harming innocent people while declining the police’s power to establish safety in society. Overall, in order to prevent the destruction of our country, the people must work together to ban gun ownership and ratify the 2nd Amendment rights clarifying its purpose to the public.
