There have been many tales written on the origin of magic, but none has ever come close to the truth, then the story of a man named Phineus and his love, Amara.
To understand the events of their tale, we must go back to the beginning. Back to when our world was nothing more, then a desolate place-an empty void of darkness.
It was during this period of nothingness. Those with Godly powers took an interest in shaping our world, by creating something that was awe-inspiring.
As our world was still forming and before humanity was even a forethought, the Gods knew this remarkable and magnificent paradise, needed to be protective. With their collected wisdom, they created monstrous beast to roam the earth as its protectors.
During this period, the world was a blissful place, but to the Gods, it was never enough. Over time, they became bored and decided to return home to their world above the heavens.
On the day of ascension, the Gods created humankind in their image, bestowing men with dominion over the earth in their place. It was at this point, the Sea God, known as Atrimpas defy his brethren by not returning home and creating a boundary spell using the first

He learned upon waking of the horrible fate Amara have agreed to for him and without hesitation and before filling his empty belly, he rushed back into the sea alone to save her. His journey was long and harrowing. He battled through Atrimpas’ hordes of sea creatures, enormous waves, and violent storms, defeating the last earthly God, at the cost of his own life. Upon his death, a freed Amara pulled him from his watery grave and in desperation, she wept to the Gods in the heavens to bring Phineus back to life. Believing her prayers went unanswered, Amara prepared Phineus’ body for burial and before the ceremony begun. She kissed his cold lips, and from her kiss, his eyes suddenly opened, shocking her and the entire
It’s very interesting how this myth explains how we started in this underworld in which we first lived in, and yet again like other myths mentions how we all lived in darkness. I really liked how this myth tells how animal and sea creatures came to be. They all lived in darkness and all sough light just like in other myths and not as desperate still managed to create a mountain in which they climbed, with help of a fly and spider they managed to escape darkness in which the underworld had yet again become and set foot in what we call mother earth. Oh and their explanation as to what happens when we die and why this happens is very much interesting to say the least. To my understanding of this myth, they all spoke the same language, whether it be the animals or humans but Hactcin thought this was boring which is why the animals and humans have different sounds and languages in which we communicate with I found pretty cool. This myth reminds me of that myth that describes how earth was made from a human corps except in this story a man is made from different materials and from a lice on this man’s head and dreams a women was made. In this myth the supernatural beings play a bigger role then man and women as they are not given names, seems like humans are merely pawns in this myth with not knowing better than to seek light and follow what little
This cleary simplfy that they are stuck in the middle, living two different life but yet can not go back because the natural systems as been distoryed, their life are no longer theirs, they are living a life of confussion, the complication of understand the new way and their expeaction of live has been
The gasping creatures cautiously circle each other, searching for any weakness, hoping that their next blow will end this eternal battle for power. Their identities indistinguishable, both dripping with the excess of their efforts, fatally wounded from years of endless onslaughts, this is the tireless struggle between man and nature. For centuries, man and nature have come to a point where only one could survive, causing the two to become opposing forces and fight till the death. This idea of dominance between the two leading forces of earth inspires many works of literature and art such as Dr. Franklin’s Island, The Iliad, The Horse Tamers, and current events of attacks as well. Everything has been fought for in this world, from bustling cities to abundant forest, the world a battlefield of clashing ideas and opposing forces, forcing all to be a part of this great battle. The theme of man and nature clashing on the battlefield of life, constantly struggling for supreme dominance is most prominent in the novel “Dr. Franklin’s Island,” the epic poem “The Iliad,” the famous sculptures “The Horse Tamers,” and the current event involving a small child of Ottawa, Canada attacked by a pit-bull.
They were filled with rage. All they really knew were two darknesses, the darkness of their lives which was now closing in on them, and the darkness of the movies, which had blinded them to that other darkness and in which they now, vindictively, dreamed, at once more together than they were at any other time, and more alone (5)
We must never speak of the times before the Great Rebirth, else we are sentenced to three years in the Palace of Corrective Detention. It is only the Old Ones who whisper about it in the evenings, in the Home of the Useless. They whisper many strange things, of the towers which rose to the sky, in those Unmentionable Times, and of the wagons which moved without horses, and of the lights which burned without flame.
Since the very creation of humanity, humans have questioned the meaning and importance of their own existence. What is humanity’s purpose? How were humans created? Are humans inherently evil? In order to answer these questions, and the countless others regarding human nature, humans have turned to mythology.
Out of the depths of hell conceived from the spawn of Cain came a monstrous creature named Grendel. He was a lonely creature knowing no love; only evil. He would screech in pain to the happiness that came from harmonious music that radiated from the almighty god who created the earth. This was the same almighty god who had banished them to the depths of darkness; forever to be punished for the death of Abel.
Dark One's Pov: I growled at Zaria and the other kids. "You will all obey me, and don't even think about doing anything to me, you can't destroy the darkness, I am the embodiment of darkness!" I shouted laughing darkly. "Why the whole darkness thing though?" one of the kids asked me. "The darkness is good, it has a sense of making you understand what you were meant to do, and right now it's telling me to spread darkness, and I won't stop until i turn everything dark!" I shouted laughing darkly. I then begin to tell them a memory I had explaining how I fell into the darkness.
The first sign of life were the children of Mother Earth and Father Heaven, whom were monsters.
There was only darkness in the beginning and in the darkness there was Nyx a bird only the colour of black. Nyx laid a golden, one day life rose out of the god of love Eros. The half of the shell rose and formed the sky (Gaia) and the other half formed the Earth (Uranus). Uranus and Gaia had many children and soon grandchildren. One of their children, Kronos became king of the world and everyone on it. When Kronos heard the prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him so he swallowed all his children when they were infants. One day his wife, Rhea hid there youngest son away from Kronos and gave him rocks the clothing wrapped around it. Once their son Zeus reached manhood he and his mother created a plan to trick Kronos to give up his
The word “beast” is used many times throughout the Bible and was used to describe many situations. Most often it was used to describe a fearsome animal or dangerous creature that could easily kill someone or has a large amount of strength. It ties in with God because it shows that an evil beast can be overcome by good no matter how strong the beast may be.It is also used to describe animals in nature such as bears or lions. These animals have similar characteristics but lack the mythicality that most beasts in the Bible share. Beasts in the Bible are mainly mentioned as opponents to a human force such as Daniel in the lion's den. They also appear as evil forces that are against people in Genesis. An example of beasts mentioned as animals of nature occurs in Genesis 1:5 and reads, “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” This was when God was creating the earth and all of creation in the 7 days of creation stories.
During a fishing trip, Atrimpas captured Phineus and his men. Once Amara heard the news, she pleaded with Atrimpas for their safe return.
It is describing the possibly that the darkness might have been through not by choose but, already forced among them since birth. Inflicting
Wandering around for hours, the cloud found a lake that was as blue and clear as the sky. He floated just above the astounding view, taking in it’s rippling waters. He then took in a deep breath and started dancing, back and forth, twirls leaps, it was graceful and yet bold. The blue from the water slowly rose and leaped toward Synnefo, twirling and twisting in every direction. From afar, the lovely godess Aphrodotie saw this colorful dance and ran to Mount Olympus to tell of this creature. Instead of being intreged by Synnefo, Zesus become furious and ordered Aphroditie to get rid of the cloud for good.
Beneath their feet, the ground shook with force of thunder. The huge lumbering beasts of Earth panicked, for they knew nothing of space, asteroids, or their impending extinction. From the fiery chaos, a new age would be birthed. It would be known as the age of humankind.
