Photography Argument Analysis

Post-impressionists disliked the unfinished quality of Impressionist paintings. They believed in the deliberate arrangement of subjects in the composition, and that this composition was more important than the effects of light. However, Vibert 's painting is also not entirely post-impressionist in nature, but influenced by post-impressionistic ideas. Made in the late nineteenth century, it exists as a lead-off into the twentieth century styles of art. At this time the camera was gaining popularity and photography was used for portraiture and to capture important events. This kitchen scene could have been created with use of a camera. But a camera captures a likeness, while an artist produces art.

Photographical equipment at this pictorial was still primitive and many photographers felt that their lens’ recorded too much detail. Photographers started to employ different techniques to soften their images, their main goal was to create images that looked more abstract and with similar characteristics to paintings. This movement then transformed into naturalism where it was encouraged to treat photography as an independent art form. There was a belief that photography should be used to communicate something personal, and that the environment would be used as an inspiration.

In the visual argument that I created I wanted to portray the idea of deforestation and how it affects the animals and the wildlife living in these forests and other habitats.So In my image I included an endangered red squirrel leaving its destroyed habitat while carrying a bindle. This visual argument's purpose is mostly to inform but can also be persuasive so that people may take action in trying to save wildlife.

For this in class project we had to recreate a painting into a collage using national geographic magazines. I decided that I wanted to do my own photograph the title of the photograph is Lost in the Wind it is 10x 6x the photo was took on June 17 2015. I choose to do my collage of this picture because it showed a challenge. In the process of remaking this photograph I had lots of trouble collaging the face, and the texture in the hair.
