Comprising over seventy percent of the Earth's surface, water is undeniably the most valuable natural resource. Life on Earth would be non-existent without water because it is essential for everything on our planet to grow. The human body is composed of 50-80% water. Blood and muscles contain significant amounts, and approximately 95% of the brain is water. All body systems and organs need water to function properly, and will shut down without it. Most of the chemical reactions that take place in our body need water as their medium. We can live without food for a few weeks, but can survive only a few days without water. It's essential because unlike other nutrients, water isn't stored in the body. Typically, everyday, we lose around 10

When a person is asked what water is, the first things that they say are; water is drinkable, used for showers, simple, washing, etc.. But people don’t really know how complex and important water is for our kind. Water is one of the most precious things we humans have, but we don’t realize it and we damage it without caring for the consequences. Water and water pollution are two things that we should all have in mind. Even though we see water as just a liquid, but there’s more to it than its form or state.
My lab report was based on how ground water could be affected by contaminants that surround us everyday. “ Access to safe drinking water depends not only on the quality of water at source but also on contamination throughout it's way to the user and practices related to purification and sanitation” ( Mishra, S., & Nandeshwar, S. 2013).I was very surprised that the detergent contaminated the water. I thought that the detergent would stay in the soil but it ended up going through the soil into the water. Which then left the water bubbly and dark. These labs may show that we may need to look into more
All around the world, countries are fighting to keep their drinking water clean. Whether it’s streams, rivers, or lakes, countries have taken great measures to maintain high quality drinking water for both human consumption and animal consumption. Countries must first understand the sources of the polltion, then determine the best methods to eliminate the pollution. Clean drinking water is a valuable resource and a the key to human survival. Plants and animals also depend on water for their growth, so all water must be kept clean. The major contributors to water pollution can be classified in three categories, industrial, agricultural and municipal.
Over the past fifty years, Hawaii has seen a drastic increase in ocean and land pollution. There has been a lot of plastic in the ocean after it has been discarded from use. It affects marine life and us because we eat fish what if fish that are contaminated with poison or full with plastic in them then we eat it, it's really bad for our environment. This increase in pollution is harming the environment in Hawaii. Our food sources, marine life, and wildlife are being negatively affected through air pollutants, water contamination, and physical waste from human activity. Pollution rates need to rapidly decline if we want to stray abroad the potential, irreversible effects on the environment of Hawaii, as well as the entire world.

Water pollution is the where water bodies such as lakes, oceans, rivers and so on are affected by pollutants which are discharged in water masses either directly or indirectly. Pollutants include toxic waste materials from factories, spillage of oil from oil tankers, pesticides and herbicides from farms, soil erosion which is usually deposited in a water source, sewages from homes and septic tanks spill off nearby water sources and the list is endless.
Air and water pollution is one of the biggest problems the environment faces today. It is one of the highest leading cause of death. Air and water pollution has been affecting the environment for many years causing many diseases among people especially children. I will study and examine the early childhood growth between two countries which are Australia and Tanzania. I will discuss how clean and polluted their air and water is for each country. Their access to clean water. I will also explain the effects that can occur when water is contaminated. How children are affected when they don 't have access to primary essentials and how each country and their environment and living condition might threatened a child 's life.
As the worlds population grows, it is forced by circumstances that it has created to face the limitations of the worlds resources. Most people in the US have always been fortunate enough to have enough of whatever they wanted. When something they like breaks or wears out, they throw it away or buy a new one, and they often don’t even make an attempt to repair an item. They neglect basic maintenance until they damage their belongings beyond repair, and expect that they’ll always have enough. But some things are beyond their control, beyond there power or financial ability to replace or repair. The world’s drinking water supply is one of these without concern, without attention, without preventative maintenance and reclamation and
“Water is life's matter and matrix, mother, and medium. There is no life without water. (Szent-Gyorgyi)” This powerful phrase was coined by Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, a Nobel Prize winning biochemist. Even in the early 1900’s when Albert lived, people were talking about water pollution. Pollution is still even today, a hot topic of politics. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, pollution is “the action of polluting, especially by environmental contamination with man-made waste.” Pollutants can be more than synthetic waste. Pollutants can be natural such as soil, volcanic ash, and minerals. Whether the pollution is natural or accidental, humans should always carefully monitor pollution in our waterways. Pollution can affect the life from plants to wildlife, and even humans. Therefore, having regular water testing is important for maintaining and monitoring pollution, animal populations, and overall water quality.
Water pollution has been a major issue around the country time and time again. It has been seen in the Cuyahoga River, Washington, D.C., during oil spills, and most recently, in the city of Flint, Michigan. The Flint water crisis became a serious domestic issue in early 2015; it involved exceedingly high levels of lead in Flint’s water supply which lead to significant health problems and the exposure of fraudulent government officials. This crisis did not have to be as severe as it was, but unfortunately, it was this serious due to the incompetence and greediness of the officials. They picked saving money over the residents’ health and best interests. They even hid crucial information from Flint residents that led to multiple deaths that could have been prevented.
