Let us all for just a second imagine, imagine you are running around on the grass. It's your choice, you may get hurt but you take the risk. All is well until you step on a thorn. Ladies and Gentlemen, I will address you on the thorny issue of abortion and raise serious points that are not only true, but also correct. arguments
Does a foetus have the right to be in the body of a woman that does not want it to be there? This is an organized and structured speech, questions you have will be answered. Especially if your questions concern

These date back to the offences against the person act of 1861. In Queensland the laws regarding termination are vague and unclear. But in the states of NSW, VIC and TAS an abortion can only be performed to preserve the mothers physical and or mental well being. It doesn't get any better in the remaining states. According to the World Health Organization unsafe and illegal abortions cause the death of thousands of women every year while thousands more are seriously injured. Legal abortions protect women's health with safe sterile procedures. If this is a free country why is our government outlawing individual rights and the freedom to choose. If abortion becomes a criminal offence punishable by death for example then the people that need one will move underground like everything else criminal making it dangerous and risky. Forcing women to bear an unwanted child is not good for family relations. If you were forced to go through a great deal of effort for something you did not want would you like it just because it's there? An unwanted child is in a lot worse position than an unwanted foetus.
Safety
You are now more likely to die in childbirth than in a legal and safe abortion. As with all surgery there is a risk involved. Today the risk is very small with less than one death for every 100.000 abortions. When you compare
Life is prolonged through medicine and technology. Abortion might not seem bad, but it affects the natural order (Seindensticker 2). In nature, it is not natural for a baby’s life to be taken intentionally through medicine. In the Bible, abortion is
Specific Purpose: I want to argue that abortions is wrong and as humans it is our duty to stop it.
Pro-abortion activists and stakeholder groups, such as Children by Choice, argue that Queensland’s current abortion laws are impractical and ambiguous. This view is supported by the fact that there has never been a conviction for an illegal abortion performed by doctors in Queensland, despite the fact that abortion is only legal in the instance where the pregnancy is likely to affect the health of the mother. Abortion law in Queensland is defined in the Criminal Code Act in s 224 and 225, but has been interpreted through and adapted by common law over the years. The current abortion law should be reformed by creating a specific statute law, as exists in Western Australia, so as to remove the ambiguity that currently exists. The main reason for this is that no solid conviction has ever been made in the instances of
Abortion really today has been a very controversial issue in today’s society. An interesting claim within it is that abortion can be done safely through the use of medical abortion and although medical abortions can be safe and trustworthy as experts might say, there still are risks that women will have to face and eventually take after abortion. Major types of risks can be pelvic infections, blood clots in the uterus or maybe a torn cervix. These are just few out of many health problems caused from abortion.
There are four Sections’ from the Criminal Code 1899 that are used throughout the process for abortion in Queensland. Criminal Code 1899 – Section 224 is “Any person who, with intent to procure the Criminal Code 1899 – Section 225 is “Any woman who, with intent to procure her own miscarriage, whether she is or is not with
The topic of abortion is quite a controversial one, many people are both for and against the motion: “Should abortion be legal in the U.S.?”. The main arguments for this topic are “You are taking a child’s life when aborting.” but others may say “Women deserve the right to their own health decisions.” Many people are also in the grey spot with this topic, many believe under certain circumstances such as medical complications, that abortion should be legal.
Ironically, one result of these restrictions has been to increase the percentage of second trimester abortions, which are less safe and more morally problematic to many, according to Hontz article. Many see the days of pre Roe coming back; illegal abortions preformed by so called doctors, young woman afraid to talk to their parents trying the old self-remedies , and unwanted babies being thrown away like common trash.
The procedure used for abortion is not only harmful to the baby obviously, but it can be dangerous for the mother both physically and mentally. Many of the risks of abortion include bleeding, infection, damage to organs, and sometimes even death but it is very rare (considering abortion). It is healthier for the woman to have birth than going through this dangerous procedure, and if the mother is not ready or does not want the baby, she can give it up for adoption. It is only fair to the baby to at least give it life to live with a family who adopts it than no life at all. After the abortion is over, women think that they are going to feel relieved to finally get this over with. For most women, this is not the case. After going through the procedure and seeing the baby get removed from their body, they almost always feel immediate regret. Seeing a dead baby the size of the palm of the doctor’s hand catches mothers off guard and traumatizes them and it should. Studies show that most women wish that they had known more about abortion before they got one (considering abortion). So, even though there are physical risks to abortion, the mental risks are the most harmful.
In this study they estimated mortality rates from 1998 to 2005. Their data was gathered from reports posted out by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Pregnancy Mortality Surveillance System. They looked at pregnancy-related mortality, common maternal comorbidities, and the characteristics of women. The data they found was over a ratio of 100,000 births and 100,00 abortions. In the discussion part of their study and one of their recognized strengths they explain that expressing information like mortality risks into ratio format is easier to understand. Pregnant women considering their options should be entitled to have accurate information about their risk factors (Raymond & Grimes, 2012). They found that 10.4 deaths occur per 100,000 live births and 0.6 deaths occurred per 100,000 abortions. All together their results conclude that according to national data sets, legal abortion in the United States remains much safe than
Over the years, technology has changed the way medical procedure performs and has made abortion a safer option for women in all social and economic groups. During the 1880s, there were many surgical procedures that were found dangerous and risky for patients. Health professions and other people who were committed to providing abortion to women were not equipped with safe and sanitary surgical tools. They lacked skill, knowledge, and proper concern in abortion, which resulted in a significant number of deaths and severe health consequences for women. Groups such as the American Medical Association
Another argument in favor of abortions is the issue of freedom. If a woman chooses to end her pregnancy, she should have the freedom to do so. Taking away this freedom would be taking away a basic right. A fetus is part of a woman’s body and it would be illogical to restrict a woman’s choice to go through with the procedure. Moreover, the government and prolife activists should not try to regulate the practices of abortion; the fact of the matter is that an abortion is
If abortion laws become harder women will still seek dangerous methods to obtain an abortion. Abortion is a very delicate procedure which should be performed by a skilled professional. If abortion becomes harder to obtain there will be a dangerous market of false abortion methods that can be highly harmful the mother carrying the fetus. As said by Obama "Motherhood must never be punishment for having sexual intercourse." (Pickert). It is not for either the mother or child to be in an unwanted environment for something she should clearly have a choice over.
Abortion rights are one of the most heatedly debates in society. There are many arguments for and against abortion. Each woman has the right to an abortion and the right to have a child. Women have the resources, rights, and respect to make reproductive health decisions that are best for themselves. (“Women’s”) We live in a free country and women should continue to have the choice to do whatever with their body, concerning women’s rights, health issues, and religious reasons.
Main-Point #1: Primarily, I am going to discuss exactly what the problem is with abortion. After so much research on my topic, the
Most women who have have legal abortions often have serious consequences regarding their future health, fertility, and psychological/emotional problems. In the United States, abortion was generally not life threatening long before it became legal in 1973. Maternal mortality is determined to a much greater extent by the overall quality of maternal health care than by the legal status or availability of abortion.
