Process modeling tools Pros and Cons
Abstract
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The purpose of this paper is to study six common and popular tools on the market that support “BPMN 2.0”. Considering this case and based on some main criteria, these tools were compared and evaluated.
A table was designed to make the comparison and the evaluation easier based on criteria sets and as a result, appropriate tool was introduced according to these criteria.
1- Introduction
These days, due to the large number of providers of business modeling tools on the market, choosing the right tools is not easy. As the first step, companies need to know their technical and business needs and according to these needs they can provide the right tools for the company.

Cons:
Unfortunately, this tool does not have user-friendly environment for design and it will be difficult to use for beginners. Designing with this tool requires prior knowledge.
3.2 iGrafx Flowchart iGrafx tool offer set of tools in the field of quality management, six sigma, management training, risk management, and IT service management [3].
In this article we focus on the iGrafx flowcharter that is a tool for business process modelling.
This tool provides graphical process and makes a better understanding of the business information. It also helps to reduce the time to document business processes, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.

This process reduced not just customer’s satisfaction but also profit; there is a need for a financial information management to integrate all their business processes. SAP (System Applications Program) was introduced to the company to ensure efficient communication among the different modules of the business process.
Activity diagrams are graphical representations of workflows of stepwise activities and actions with support for choice, iteration and concurrency. In the Unified Modeling Language, activity diagrams are intended to model both computational and organizational processes (i.e. workflows). Activity diagrams show the overall flow of control.
Based on the comparison Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3, we identified following set of categories on which we would like to evaluate the above tools and computing paradigm in subsequent sub-sections:
4. BPM systems include advanced features such as enhanced process modeling, simulation, execution, and monitoring, providing a high level of flexibility while reducing costs.
Doris opted FLOW CHARTS are best method for transformation in system. She states that before drawing flowcharts one must have blue prints and clear goals of charts in regards of 1) what is it? 2) Why is it used 3) when is it used? 4) What does it look like? According to her view a process flowchart is always chronologically correct, mathematically accurate and simply artistic. She details the flowchart showing quality improvement in MD Anderson by STEEP
A business process combines manual and automated tasks that ultimately add measurable value to a product or service. A model for business model diagram of these manual and automated processes is a picture of the business process works as is or should work in the future to be. To develop an effective application that optimally supports the business process. Business process analysis identifies bottlenecks in efficiencies disconnects and other problem areas. Developers need solution functional and non-functional requirements to develop or modifying application. A good business process implementation will increase the visibility of the company’s activities making it easy to monitor and control the critical business processes of the company. It provides management with an increased ability to identify bottlenecks, make improvements that needed and reassigned resources to meet customer demand. It also provides an increased to identify further areas of optimization that will provide customer satisfaction or lower transaction
| The ProModel suite Create a dynamic, animated computer model of business environment from CAD files, process or value stream maps, or Process Simulator models. Clearly see and understand current processes and policies in action.
Business processes comprise a set of sequential sub-processes or tasks, with alternative paths depending on certain conditions as applicable, performed to achieve a given objective or produce given outputs. Each process has one or more needed inputs. The inputs and outputs may be received from, or sent to other business processes, other organizational units, or internal or external stakeholders. Business processes are designed to be operated by one or more business functional units, and emphasize

These valuable experiences have advanced my understanding of the intricate process models, subtleties of workflow design, supply chain, business management and developed subject matter expertise on middleware technologies. However, possessing rudimentary understanding on the business fraction of complex information problems, I believe my work in the domain of process modeling is fragmentary and have much to gain in the vast discipline of information systems. I now aspire to be closely associated with business process design, the factors which influence the ever changing market and play a decisive role in devising complex business strategies for future
“Observation and documentation of workflow to better understand what is happening in the current environment and how it can be altered” is workflow analysis (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2015). Workflow analysis together with process mapping and diagramming use information technology to improve patient safety and patient care. Case in point of flowcharting is a workflow analysis process map for AmniSure testing.
The new business process and integration tool also offered real-time visibility into its extensive manufacturing process, including tracking inventory, handling billing and monitoring vendor performance for on-time delivery and other measures. The system was fast, reduced errors and improved efficiency.
A business profile is an overview that defines a company’s overall functions, processes, organization, products, services, customers, suppliers, competitors, constraints, and future direction. A business process describes specific events, tasks, and desired results. To understand a company’s operations, systems analysts first develop a business profile and then create a series of business models. A business model graphically represents business functions that consist of business processes such as sales, accounting, and purchasing that perform specific tasks. (Pages 10 -11)
In the last fifty years, there has been a wide interest among the computer and industry scientist in Petri nets. Petri net can be applied informally to any system that can be described graphically like flow charts and that needs some means of representing parallel or
“A Business Process Explorer: Recovering and Visualizing E-Commerce Business Processes” is a research paper developed by the author: Jin Guo, King Chun Foo, Liliane Barbour, and Ying Zou. The focus of this paper is a business process and how it affects e-commerce systems. Business process can be defined as an assortment of linked, designed actions or responsibilities that are linked together by control flow foundations. E-commerce uses business processes to systematize the day-to-day work flow of an organization.
