“Christians have lived here and walked these streets for over a thousand years. But today, there’s no one - they're all gone. Driven out by fear. And one of the most striking things that you notice is the silence”
The Islamic state is trying to eradicate christians from the area because they want to take it over, and they don't care what they have to do to get to the top. This has become one of the largest displacements ever, more than 125,000 Islamic Christians have been removed from their homes. “As it seeks to erase Christianity from the landscape, the Islamic state allows no Christian symbols” (Logan, 3). ISIS will not allow christians to pray in their churches, they have taken over some of them to use as bases, they also burn Christian

They used to just let people leave, without money or documents, but they would let them leave. Now they are killing more people, in terrible ways and torturing them, trying to instill fear into the families that still reside there. What was once a safe haven for Christians and a place to go to see the genesis of Christianity has now become a ghost town.“Every road was deserted. Houses and possessions abandoned. Others destroyed” ( Logan, 4). People are fleeing Iraq and giving ISIS just what they want. They are also using nazi techniques of marking Christian homes so they can force them out. The Islamic state has been assembling children's camps where they are speculated to be training young boys to use weapons and hurt other people. “One 13-year-old boy, who later escaped the camp, said that he witnessed beheadings, stonings and crucifixion that the militants carried out and forced others to watch.” (Stoyan, 2) They are a sadistic group, getting pleasure out of hurting others and forcing other people to
ISIS is being led by multiple people who are extremely resistant to compromise and believe that they are following a prophecy. They have a divine prophecy that they will either be led to a great demise or a wonderful ending where they will come out on top. ISIS is vastly different than many other groups by the fact that they are led by a very strong willed leadership.
In the CNN library of, “ISIS Fast Facts” CNN shares the story of ISIS the group known for killing dozens of people in the public by executions, beheading or brutal acts. The Islamic State, also known as ISIS of ISIL, has continued to arouse much untold terror throughout the Middle East region for more than four years, since 2011. The recent violence there underscores the seriousness of the issue and the urgency of those people living in the refugee camps. These refugees migrated to these camps to escape the militants’ attack on their homes and properties. The victims to much destruction and hardship, these Syrians will not be returning to their native homeland any time soon, and they can only hope that a genocidal tragedy like the Holocaust will never blossom in

ISIS is a Sunni militant group seeking to create its own state, governed by their interpretation of the Laws of the Quran, and to destroy all other branches of Islam as well as convert or destroy all non-Muslims.
ISIS, now simply calling itself the “Islamic State,” started on its path of conquest and destruction in mid-June. Largely spilling over from fighting in war-torn Syria, ISIS launched a massive offensive into Iraq which has claimed thousands of lives and displaced thousands more. Christians in ISIS-held territories have been given the option to convert to Islam, pay a religious tax, or face execution. Many instead choose to flee. Christians in Iraq are not heavily centralized, and therefore do not have the means to effectively organize, lobby for support, or defend themselves against aggression from much larger Muslim forces.
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has recently attacked. How and Why? These are all questions that the public still wants to know. ISIS is a jihadist terror group that was established after the fall of Al Qaeda and the death of their leader Osama Bin Ladin. The reason why ISIS' foundation is still spreading is because their followers want "revenge" on those who have tarnished the Islamic religion. ISIS' end goal is to separate the Western and Eastern parts of the world, and even though we pride ourselves on the belief that we are all equal many people want this to happen. And ISIS takes those people to help them achieve this goal.
Unlike other terrorists groups whose main purpose is to enforce terrorism around the world, ISIS’ brutal strategies are how they defend their beliefs and protect their land (Chavez). ISIS has been able to obtain a majority of their land even with U.S. led coalition strikes and ground operations; they control much of the Tigris-Euphrates river basin, northern central Iraq, and northern Syria and seek to control every aspect of their land in each city and town, including essential roads, oil fields, and military facilities (BBC). “In March [of] 2015, the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross [estimated there to be] more than 10 million people [living under ISIS control]” (BBC). Inside areas where ISIS imposes its austere rendition of Sharia, another way to say the “framework” of Islam, women wear full veils, public beheadings are a daily routine, and those who refuse this way of life are forced to supply the government with a certain tax, convert, or choose death
ISIS is located in Syria, Iraq, Jordan and other parts of the Middle East. The group’s methods are exceptionally brutal. The group began very different form in 1999. Al-Qaeda and ISIS are very similar but different and share a lot of history. In July 2012 Iraq Reopens Notorious Abu Ghraib Prison as Baghdad Central Prison this is called the great ISIS prison break. One chapter of the story of ISIS’s rise that very rarely gets mentioned: spectacular series of attacks on Iraqi prisons in 2012 and 2013. This prison break supplied it with a huge infusion of recruits, ISIS took advantage of the Iraqi government’s weakness. People for all types of crimes were recruited. ISIS won rapid infusion of man power. April 2013: ISIS officially becomes ISIS-
It is not new for the Islamic State to resort to such measures whenever being forced away from a captured territory. Mass kidnappings, using civilians as human shields, booby trapping cars, and suicide bombings are common ways for ISIS to slow down the advancement of their opponents.
The rise of ISIS in Iraq and Syria is shocking. I don’t understand why or how they are growing so fast. Per the video, we watched in class, there are thousands of people who give up everything to travel and leave their homes to be under strict Islamic authority. They then become far away from their homes and are potentially risking their lives because they could die in the process of joining ISIS. It is literally like signing your life over. I for one do not understand their reason and mentality in doing all of this. These people are very committed and supportive.
justify their actions. This very sickening to read ,but in their country it 's being advocated as okay within confined lines.“A growing body of internal policy memos and theological discussions has established guidelines for slavery, including a lengthy how-to manual issued by the Islamic State Research and Fatwa Department just last month. Repeatedly, the ISIS leadership has emphasized a narrow and selective reading of the Quran and other religious rulings to not only justify violence, but also to elevate and celebrate each sexual assault as spiritually beneficial, even virtuous.”They are not treated as humans but instead are treated as meat.“Right away, the fighters separated the men from the women,” she said. She, her mother and sisters were first taken in trucks to the nearest town on Mount Sinjar. “There, they separated me from my mom. The young, unmarried girls were forced to get into buses.” This article was definitely a tough read because it 's hard to stomach another human being going through this on
ISIS treat their own people unfairly and inhumane. In 2014, ISIS kidnapped more than 140 Kurdish schoolboys in Syria to force them to take lessons in radical Islamic theology (CNN, 2015). Many ISIS members kidnap
In the recent months, a gathering called ISIS has trumble the entire planet with their fear. This gathering has executed and constrained a large number of individuals to leave their homes. ISIS has been the focal point of media for truly a while because of their mass decimation around the Bedouin nations. ISIS has demonstrated the world that they aren't apprehensive about anybody. Their arrangement is assemble aggressors from everywhere throughout the world so they could construct new caliphate.
The Islamic State is a growing problem for everyone all around the world. This terrorist group has been growing as the years go on.
