Starting a new school year as a tenth grader, I thought there wouldn’t be any big changes but there was, and there is. My classes became slightly more difficult than they were last year, as a freshman. Which made it more challenging to keep up with all the class work, tests, quizzes, and homework. Although, most of the assignments assigned became a bit effortless, of course effort is needed but it’s just so simple to do. All of my classes balance between those two, being challenging at times but also being simple. I, like every other student was enrolled into a World History class. In History class, we were assigned a Public Service Announcement(PSA) just recently. In History class, we were able to choose our groups in which we would work on the PSA together. …show more content…
We then had to find a primary source ourselves from Modern Times about Transportation. After that was complete, our second task was to create and design a storyboard for our actual PSA. My group and I went with a simple task of just drawing out the pictures we had in mind and putting captions on them. In our storyboard we presented steam trains, steam boats from the Industrial Revolution and how the invention of the steam engine bettered but also damaged the world. We then showed cruise ships, trains from modern times. We showed that for modern times trains are used for going to point A to point B, and boats for example a cruise ship is for luxury. All in all, this bettered transportation for the future. As time passes, transportation gets better and better. Since the Industrial Revolution the problem with transportation hasn’t changed, it’s altered a bit but it’s still the same problem. That is problem is pollution. For example, cars, they run on gasoline and they produce and release exhaust which pollutes the air. Polluting the air only harms us, so
This is a Public Service Announcement. There is a Tornado headed our way. The Warning will be from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm eastern time. The following Counties will be affected, Allegheny, Beaver, and Washington. Wind Gusts will be up to 65 mph. Please go to a safe area in your home (example, basement, bathroom, somewhere with no windows). You will need to take enough food and water to last you until the Warning is lifted. There is a strong possibility that you will lose power during this Tornado. If you have flashlights, batteries, and a radio please take these with you as well. If hit with the Tornado you could be severely injured by flying objects. Anything with gasoline in them could possibly explode. Medical Teams will have a
In conclusion, the invention of the steam train in the industrial revolution was beneficial for the world today because without them there would be a slower process in the delivery of goods and transport to long distances on land. Although both short term and long term effects were filled with negative and positives, the positives re more overpowering, therefor making the invention
semester we were assigned groups and provided sample essays that we had to critique. Working
I’ve realized that the work in class and outside of class is both challenging and plentiful, especially in Biology111 and my DMA Maths. Its quite difference from high school, where maybe I’d have to turn in something once a week. I had free food and transportation which is something I’ve completely over looked all of these years and even with these useful objects I had, I really didn 't learn much. I know a bit about the holocaust, because it was taught each year in English class, but we did very minimal writing and of course we sometimes had journals but they weren 't grammatically correct. History was like we had to live the same day over and over again just to pass a weekly quiz. I had to scribble so many words on a piece of paper that it soon turned into art class. Actually a lot of my classes turned into art class and I got pretty good at drawing.
I am living the last year in Crone Middle School. There are numerous viewpoints that I can say about eighth grade. First and foremost, I want to highlight the amount of work. All the eight graders can agree that homework has substantially increased. When I was in elementary school, I was shocked when I heard that there is homework on the weekends. Now, it is shocking if I do not have weekend homework. By far, eighth grade has been the most busiest, exciting, and fun-filled year. Right from the beginning, the graduating class went to Lincoln Marsh. This is a natural area for team-building activities. I can specifically remember the number of bees in the area. I was not able to sit when eating lunch because of the bees. My favorite part of the field trip was obviously the bus ride to and from Lincoln Marsh. It was a relaxing ride where I got to listen to music. Another event was Civil War day. The entire eighth grade witnessed the life during the Civil War. There were singers, a surgeon, and nurses. The surgery was one of the most favored activities to witness. A surgeon performed a mock surgery with supplies that were available during the Civil War. A couple of weeks ago, the graduating class had the opportunity to go to Funway. There were go-karts, bumper cars, roller-skating, bowling, an arcade, and much more. It was truly an interesting
A good way to spread awareness of LGMD would be to send representatives to high schools to speak in health classrooms about what LGMDs are and the toll they take on the person with the disease physically, mentally, emotionally.
The Public Service Announcement, “ driving role models” , informs parents way of driving and how it affects their children; the video starts with a kid and strings tied to his hands like a puppet informing how easily parents easily influence their children and if you use no words or anything making it intimidating for the viewer. starting later in the video that the strings are attached to the father as that whatever the dad does controls and affects the children to do the exact thing they are doing . There purpose was to show the people that you have to set a good example and be the role model to show their children how to not just drive but in a way they make you think beyond not just driving but other bad choice they do for example, the
(“Industrial revolution”, 2009) Better transportation was a major change that happened during the Industrial Revolution. Before the invention of the steam engine, materials and goods were transported via horse-drawn wagons and boats along canals and rivers. (“Industrial revolution”, 2009) Robert Fulton built the first commercially successful
The Public Service Announcement (PSA) does not do enough to impose distracted driving. Distracted driving threatens to become a deadly epidemic on U.S. roads. In 2008, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that nearly 6,000 people lost their lives and more than half a million were injured in crashes involving driver distraction! With all the technology advancements, teens are finding new ways to text and drive causing more crashes and deaths according to an article published by BUnow. One may say, "Well this will never happen to me.” but if the PSA is not doing enough to stop distracted driving with all the technological advancements, your loved one could be part of that 6,000. States are passing a bill that fines
My junior year began relatively normal. I was successfully running REACH, the religious club I began, taking on more responsibilities, and even had the standard “OhMyGodWhyAmITakingSoManyAPs” breakdown. But beneath the surface, things were different. My classes were being taught through a rigid curriculum, not offering any time for discussion or input. The vibrant classrooms I had grown to love were now sterile, coated in initiatives from the district. And one morning, almost instantaneously, things began to make sense.
Transitioning to middle school was a difficult experience that taught me a skill that I will use throughout life. The jump from fifth grade to sixth grade is often challenging due to the change in teachers, learning environment, and pressure. In fifth grade I enjoyed a daily schedule of sports and social time with a small amount of time dedicated to homework. The fifth grade attempted to prepare me for middle school by giving me an increased amount of homework and more challenging material, however, faculty and administration still acknowledged that I was in elementary school and am not at an age where I should be given a large amount of homework. When I become a sixth grade student everything changed.
Now it is finally my eight grade year. My eight grade year has been pretty good so far with its ups and its down, but for the most part it’s good. Right when I came back from summer break I can tell that eight grade was going to be a lot more difficult of a task than seventh grade was. And the teachers also made sure to inform us about it too. Like there is going to be a lot more projects, a lot more homework, they are going to be more tough on us because it’s our last year hear. Kind of like, we were seniors.

Celebrity endorsements are one of the most famous methods of marketing used today. Celebrity endorsers are being used in about 25% of all the advertisements that we can see on the television. Marketers are investing large sums of money to have a contract with the celebrities as they believe that celebrities can affect the chances of success of a product.
