The 1964 society brings student together from different academic back groups with the same goal of growing professionally as a student, networking with prestigious alumni of Cleveland State University (CSU), and building a long lasting relationship with current CSU students and alumni. When a student joins the 1964 Society, they are joining an organization of students who are friendly, motivated, and determined to help you become a true Viking. The 1964 Society host numerous events throughout the semester that helps students learn necessary skills to be successful in school and their future career. I would sell the 1964 Society to potential members by having an interactive conversation of how the 1964 Society has made a dramatic impact on my life as a student and a future professional. I would tell the students that the 1964 Society can not only connect you to CSU alumni, but provide you with the necessary skills to present yourself as a professional student that can lead to numerous
As a young woman who strives to make a difference both locally and globally, I know that membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will aid in accomplishing my life long goals. The emphasis this organization places on assisting and supporting others through the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, is truly a reflection of the public service initiatives that I make an effort to take part in. The opportunity to form a lifelong bond with other college educated women, who share some of the same morals and beliefs as I do, is phenomenal. I know that membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will mean taking that initiative to become a part of something that’s bigger than myself, because I certainly can’t take on the world alone. The incredible
Men of Alpha Phi Alpha such as James Felton and Vaun Davis are key to why I want to pursue my aspirations of someday becoming a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity incorporated. Both James and Vaun’s unselfishness has allowed me to grow as a leader and also into a man. These role models have opened numerous doors for me that have resulted into various benefits and opportunities. I hope my encounters with great Alpha Men such as James Felton and Vaun Davis will allow me the opportunity of joining the highly respected brotherhood. Another abundant encounter that I have experienced with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, is the true meaning and display of brotherhood. For years I have watched the interactions and connections of men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated I have noticed that each member that I have encountered expresses and implements the true meaning of brotherhood. I profoundly believe in the bond of brotherhood and fraternity. In my belief, if granted the chance to uphold the unbreakable bond such as the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, the bond would enhance my credentials while assisting and challenging others. The brotherhood would push me to
Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in different professional societies such as the National Society of High School Scholars, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honors society), and Business Professionals of America. My involvement in these societies has made me knowledgeable in the logistics of how to run the society, and have taught me valuable skills such as leadership and collaboration. For logistics, I can help organize events such as fundraising activities or philanthropic events as I am currently on the social committee for Business Professionals of America, which is in charge of organizing social events for my chapter. As an elected member for the social committee, my chapter has shown faith in me for my leadership skills and collaboration skills. Overall, I feel like I can contribute a lot of my skills and knowledge to UIC honors college.
Over the past two years (2014-2016) I have participated in the National Junior Honors Society. As a member, I commit to completing community service and to learning among my peers in order to develop into a superior leader. I have taken part in activities such as fundraisers, team building activities, and several forms of community services such as working in a soup kitchen, daycares and organizing social events. Recently, I volunteered for a week as a vendor at a temple in Tacoma, raising money for the establishment during the Cambodian New Year festival.
I stay actively involved in many extracurricular activities. I am a member of FCCLA, Yearbook,
My first year in college was a culture shock, from the atmosphere to the amount of freedom I never received before and I knew that I wanted to take my past of leadership to the next level. My background as the first generation college student already was an achievement but to be apart of an organization that has the honor of having members that also are distinct and great in their own way. I see also that myself could bring more to the chapter as I am growing. From my background in mass media with journalism and fashion, I aspire to be a world renowned publicist and stylist as well.
I am involved in Tau Beta Pi as a member and have volunteered at different outreach events as well as helping to plan and promote the Pi Mile Run. I am also a member of the Iowa State Honors Program events committee where I help to plan and coordinate the different honors events throughout the year. I am also an ambassador for the Honors Program. In this role, I volunteer at different honors events and also discuss the Honors Program with prospective students and their families. During my freshman year, I was the secretary for my residence house and took notes during meetings as well as putting up posters for Iowa State and house events.
1. Are you a member of a student organization dedicated to the support and empowerment of a particular group, whether social, cultural, religious, or major-based (e.g. English or Business Honor Society)? If you aren’t, visit the PSU Abington website and look at the variety of organizations/clubs available -- speak with a friend who is an active member of such an organization or, if you don't have a friend in one of the organizations/clubs, interview the organization/clubs president.
In order to prepare myself for these goals, I have made sure to make myself a well-rounded individual while maintaining grades within well standards in order to get accepted into graduate school. In order to make myself a well-rounded individual I made sure to join many clubs and organizations, volunteer within the community, and to always work hard for my money. Some of the organizations I am involved in here at Fayetteville State University are ACS Club, Math Club, Bio Phi Chem, My Sister’s Keeper, Honda Campus All Star Tournament, and Black Feminist Scholars which I am the President of this organization. The volunteer work I have participated in has been through Black Feminist Scholars and My Sister’s Keeper, which has consisted of providing
Prior to accepting my nomination into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, I was hesitant on the legitimacy of the organization because the opportunities provided appeared to be too spectacular. After I accepted the nomination and learned a little bit about the organization at the first meeting held at Iowa state, I was intrigued about what other information I could learn from the induction ceremony about the society. I wanted to know more about the experiences of other active students within the society and how exactly the society helped them. Learning from others and hearing their stories is a great way for me to be able to properly form an open opinion about the NSCS, which helped me to understand what the goals of the organization

Get selected to serve on the board of directors for a local non profit organization within 2 years of graduation from WGU. I will research local non profit organizations that I have developed a passion for the mission and set up meetings with each current board chair to discuss how my skills and abilities may benefit their organization. In order to reach this goal I will need the passion and motivation to stay committed to the organization I am on the board for and recognize that I represent this organization as I would my own employment.

Today I am a very successful student at Albany State University. I am a Presidential Scholarship recipient, holding a 3.6 Grade Point Average and a member of the Velma Fudge Grant Honors Program. As a second semester junior, I am proud to say I have remained on the Dean’s List since I arrived on campus. Aside from my academics, I am very active on campus. As a Social Work major, I work diligently with the Students Social Work Association as an advocate for social policy and justice. Through this organization I have accumulated over three hundred hours of community outreach and volunteerism. In 2013, I served as the organization’s queen, receiving the title Ms. SSWA. More recently I have become a Global Ambassador for the university’s Study Abroad Global Program. Looking at my achievements, I would have never imagined myself as a prosperous college student.
