I am currently a student at Western Michigan University studying Early Childhood Professional Education. I am writing to express my interest in a position as a daycare employee. I am experienced with children from ages 2 ½ to 12. Through my research I have found multiple jobs that interest me, but there are two that stick out the most: Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist and Psychiatric Technician. Before researching, I had no idea about these jobs, but now I know good deal about them. After researching, I found out in what settings people in these positions work, how much they make on average annually, what their job entitles, what the education requirements are, what the growth rates for these occupations are. The jobs’ settings are very similar, but their salaries and duties are very different. I was able to find that if one just looks at the average, annual wage for each occupation, Psychiatric Technicians make about $28,000 while Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialists make about $34,000. The growth rate for Rehabilitation Counselors, in general, is faster than Psychiatric Technicians, but only by four percent. The overall tasks of each occupation, however, differ greatly from each other.
I never thought I would someday become a role model to nearly 12,000 Missouri high school students. These students are not any ordinary students; they are members of an organization that is truly the ultimate leadership experience. This organization is known as the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and is a student led organization, based off of family and consumer sciences education. FCCLA has given me unbelievable opportunities! But of all of the opportunities this organization has provided me with, serving as a FCCLA state officer has definitely been the best. However, becoming a state officer wasn’t easy and required a long process.
I am very interested in the position of Learning Coach within USD 497. With experience in both K-12 and higher education, I have a very diverse skillset that reflects my passion to support students, teachers and administrators in the pursuit of improving teaching and learning. As an Instructional Coach (IC) for the Katy Independent School District (KISD) in Katy, Texas and a School Improvement Specialist (SIS) for the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) in Houston, Texas, I experienced great success creating a positive and supportive work environment, guiding collaborative planning teams and refocusing instructional strategies that eventually led to improved test scores and learning outcomes. In both of these positions, I successfully
Over the years I have served as an educator, mentor and art instructor in the urban community both part time for about five years and fulltime for the past two and a half years both locally and abroad. From teaching art at my local community art center in downtown Atlanta to traveling to inner city Hyderabad, India to teach impoverished youth, I have always found a way to remain an active in urban education. Giving back is a 360 practice, I am educator of color because I remember what it was like to be an inner city youth of color. My passion lies within urban communities because I was once an inquisitive student greatly impacted by educators and professionals and if such experiences made me the person I am today I can only hope that I can
My proposed solution to this is that school counselors and city mayors can be a major source of inspiration to children who are affected by a challenge like this. They can advise them on how to build themselves with determination to make a difference.
According to author John C. Maxwell, “Good leadership isn’t about advancing yourself;it’s about advancing your team.” Much like Maxwell’s quote, I strive to advance my peers and my fellow students at South Florence High School. In my years at South Florence I’ve done my best to lead and be an example at this school by not only participating in clubs, but by doing my best academically. One thing that coincides with great leadership skills is a strong sense and acceptance of diversity in our school environment. Attending a school with a diverse student body helps prepare students for the culturally and ethnically diverse nation which we will be entering after we graduate and begin our lives.

It is my pleasure to provide this recommendation letter on behalf of Marsha Martin for selection as a substitute classroom teacher at Tate School. I have known Ms. Martin for many years as a former kindergarten and pre-school classroom teacher. Most recently I had the pleasure to supervise her in the position of Literacy Integration Specialist for Early Childhood through the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy grant implementation at Carver Early Learning Center. During her time as a Literacy Integration Specialist, I observed her commitment to excellence in education, sincere loyalty to our school system, and dedication to the success of the grant implementation at Carver. Her devotion in supporting the administration and teachers

Over the years, I have worn many educator hats such as a Director of Resource, classroom teacher, Head Start teacher, special’s teacher, and as a teacher’s aide. My leadership experiences have not been ones in an administrative role, but I have had leadership experiences both informal and formal in nature. My years as a professional educator with a Virginia Collegiate Professional license has allowed me to teach in public settings as well as Catholic schools, at many different grade levels and for me, all of those experiences have influenced my leadership skills.
