When teachers show respect to their students, they are creating an environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves; students learn to respect the educator as well as their peers. Essentially, showing respect for students not only exemplifies appropriate student behavior, but also lets them know that they are worthy of respect even in the face of misbehavior. Setting high expectations for students and believing in their abilities to achieve are equally prominent characteristics for teachers to have. Many students are only going to do the bare minimum of what is required, so setting high standards is significant. It signifies that educators are ensuring that students are getting the most out of an education—challenging them to live up to their fullest potential. When educators believe in their students, they push them to succeed. A teacher needs to be flexible and adaptable due to schedule changes, adapting lessons, gaining new students, adapting to various behaviors and various academic levels of students. A teacher needs to be assertive when advocating for the needs of their students, themselves and for their peers. To be outstanding you have to have compassion towards your peers, your students and their families. A teacher always need to be prepared for their day including designing lessons, creating materials, writing IEP's, knowing students levels, handling any behavior, that anything can happen and always have extra work. Outstanding teachers know their stuff! They know what they are teaching and how to teach it so that students will understand and be able to use their knowledge in multiple contexts.

I remember my favorite teacher vividly even though I sat in her class many years ago. I have so many fond memories of her and took so much from her class. I can only dream of touching a child’s life in the way my favorite teacher touched mine. For just one student to think of me in the same way would make all the years of hard work worth the effort. I also want my students achieve many accomplishments. I want them to use and remember what they have learned in my class. I also want them to have a broad spectrum of knowledge. I want each student to do their best and go as far as they can. I want them to feel a sense of accomplishment and be proud of themselves. I want to be the teacher who is encouraging, supportive, and pushes her students to be their best.

I believe there are many skills and attributes that are necessary to an outstanding teacher; one’s ability to keep students engaged, the desire to see all students achieve, and knowledge of the content taught are attributes of an outstanding educator.

In “The Gestures of Grace” By: Alison Melotti-Cormack, she talks about what she believes makes a good teacher. Some of the qualities of a good teacher has is a passion for learning, connect with the students, evolves over time, and learns to accept the “bad” students. She also believes that teaching is all about learning and the gestures of grace. Melotti-Cormack’s main point/message is to just listen. She say’s this because from listening to her students she has been able to learn life lessons that she uses to help her students.

Being a teacher doesn’t mean you have to be boring and uneventful. Being a good teacher shows that you know what your students like and make them want to learn. Being like Ms.Murrow would give your students a horrible year. Being Mr.White makes your students look forward to learning. Be a teacher that gets students to look forward to learning,

Teacher are smart caring people who are always willing to help or at least some are and they are some aren't. Some Students underestimate teachers ability.

Teachers have to earn respect, I think, it cannot be demanded by them just because they want it. Another thing is that teachers should show love. They should not only show it towards the students but towards their work as well. Teachers

become successful. A good teacher plans with intention with all these things in mind to communicate the content of lesson to the psyche of the learner. A good educator is transforms themselves and those they serve to reach their loftiest goals.

Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher

I believe that teaching excellence comes from two different things, dedication and the desire to help others. Teachers who are dedicated to their students and classrooms are definitely going to be excellent and never give up at what they do. Teachers who have a great desire to help their students and their career will continue to do everything they can to make sure their students receive what is needed. The two characteristics that make an excellent teacher are dedication and the desire to help others.

Empathy is the third quality. A teacher must have the ability to bond with the students, to understand and resonate with their feelings and emotions. He/she need to put his/herself in students’ situation to understand and solve students’ problem. A good teacher must know that the aggression, negative attitudes that he/she can see in some students have a root cause. He/she know that they are really scared young people who have come through some bed experiences in life. This will keep a teacher calm and have control. If a teacher can do this, he/she will gain more than love from his/her students.
