Introduction
According to Fain (2017) the title is written to capture the reader and inform them of the purpose of the study. The title of the article clearly represents the research report. The variable of interest is understood from the title. However, the population studied and the setting of the study is not stated in the title. An abstract is constructed in order to provide a summary of the research study and should include the purpose and findings in the study (Fain, 2017). There is an abstract provided in the

Review of Literature
According to Fain (2017), in order to validate the need for a study, an updated literature review is vital. The cited literature is all pertinent to the research problem. The literature review defines the knowledge gap and it is clearly understood how the researcher reached the objective. The concept of the literature review is included which states that knowledge of institutional guidelines and how they are perceived and adhered to by nurses is limited. A brief summary of relevant literature and implications to the research reveals five professional practice guidelines for VAP prevention and chose the three that were used most often to describe adherence guidelines as well as explore how user factors, guideline qualities, and contextual factors influence adherence (Kiyoshi-Teo et al., 2014). The resources used are primarily primary sources which, according to Fain (2017) means they are "written by the person who developed the theory or conducted the research" (p. 88). There appears to be no secondary sources which is good because "an appropriate literature review mainly reflects the use of primary sources" (Fain, 2017, p. 88).
Theoretical Framework
"In a study based on theory, the framework is usually referred to as theoretical framework" (Fain, 2017, p. 103). The theoretical framework was presented clearly in the objective statement of the article, “To identify factors that influence adherence to guidelines for prevention
Theories are the organized concepts that help to define or understand behaviors, relationships or a phenomenon (Green, 2014). Thus, theories are the foundation of scholarly research and act as an outline to carry out a study. They are used to process and analyzing data and contribute to knowledge in literature and practice (Green, 2014; Udo-Akang, 2012). Theories are used to guide research but are also utilized in a parallel process with research to explain and to predict, explain problems, events, systems, and experiences (Udo-Akang, 2012). In a wraparound effect, studies help to advancement theories through the application of the framework to the research methodology (Green, 2014; Udo-Akang, 2012). The theory and its constructs guide the research design (Green, 2014; Udo-Akang, 2012). Existing theories are said to most likely
The purpose of this report is to conduct a critical appraisal of a published article.

The purpose of the research review was to attempt to answer the question, does monitoring naturietic peptide twice a month for a month post discharge and altering treatment plan vs. monitoring naturietic as standard practice and altering treatment plan decrease readmission rates in Heart Failure patients after discharge from the hospital? The dependent variable was readmission of Chronic Heart Failure patients (CHF). In order to answer this question, the Cochrane Database was searched using the keywords natriuretic peptide, CHF and readmissions with no limits. The search provided 8 results. According to research naturietric peptide aids in showing the probability for readmission and can therefore

The purpose of this paper is to critique a quantitative study and to present a critical analysis on its research findings. The paper will discuss the elements influencing believability and robustness of research, including writing style, research problem, literature review, conceptual framework, research question, hypothesis, study sample, methods, data analysis and results, and discussion of the relevance and future directions.
The qualitative article being appraised is by Martin and Woods (2012) using the CASP tool qualitative framework (CASP 2013). These tools have been validated to ensure that studies can be assessed in a consistent way assessing the trustworthiness of the research article (Aveyard, 2014)
In this course, we had group critical appraisal paper. Initially, the appraisal explored the use of palliative care among minority groups, but only qualitative research appeared for this topic. Due to limit research articles, so we had group meeting and met with librarian to discuss searching strategy. A decision was made to change the intervention to acupuncture treatment with the comparator being standard opioid medication in the outcome of reducing pain in palliative care patients. This proved to be a more successful topic when searching for relevant research. Based on the highest level of available evidence, three articles were selected from PubMed.
Crombie & Davies (1997) stated that the article title gives an understanding of what the study is going to be about and the author intentions of how the study will be done. The

Yes. In the article, the aim of the research was to understand the experience of participants, their knowledge about type 2 diabetes, and the factors of medication adherence in Malaysia. According to Susan (2010), the five components of PICOT are population, issue, context, outcome, and time. According to Al-Qazaz et al (2011), the PICOT was presented by the researcher in the study were,
I am in agreement with your process of critical appraisals; identifying the steps in the research process, determining the strengths and weaknesses in the studies and evaluating the validity and credibility of the studies seem to be the root elements of critical appraisals. I appreciated the scholarly article you chose linking depression and mortality among diabetes mellitus patients, particularly because of the straightforwardness of the article. it seemed the conclusion and points of the article were straight forward and the article was easy to understand. If I could suggest any addition, it would be a way to verify the credibility of the study. maybe in this study in particular there is not much incentive for lack of credibility, but in
Evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing means making decisions about patient care on the basis of best, current, standardized practice and guidelines. According to an article, written by Dr. Kathleen Stevens, the development of evidence-based practice (EBP) is fueled by the increasing public and professional demand for accountability in safety and quality improvement in health care (Stevens, 2013). The author also mentioned in her article that the intended effect of EBP is to standardize healthcare practices to science and best evidence and to reduce illogical variation in care,

The objective of this chapter is to describe the procedures used in the analysis of the data and present the main findings. It also presents the different tests performed to help choose the appropriate model for the study. The chapter concludes by providing thorough statistical interpretation of the findings.
