This artefact was utilised on my prac in April of 2015 with a Year 2 class. The lesson was an English lesson, covering the content of persuasive words and writing. My mentor informed me the students had previously worked on persuasive words and so I planned the lesson according to this. Students viewed the movie poster for Madagascar 3, which I chose based on their interests. I engaged the students in discussions about the target audience, text, colour, characters and how these all things contribute to persuade people to go and watch the movie. As a class we brainstormed key persuading words. Students were then asked to create their own persuasive poster about something they like and would like to persuade their peers to like. This ensured that the lesson catered for student diversity as they all have different interests and were encouraged to present them in their own creative
For this paper I chose to interview Gio Rodriguez. He is different from me because he is of Latino decent, was born in Mexico, and is a first generation college student. I also chose Gio because I have gotten to know him over the months of being here so far, and consider him a pretty good friend.
The people in the world that we live in are extremely diverse, in terms of the nationalities, religions, gender classifications and physical abilities. Social workers must have a clear understanding of the consequences of diversity and difference and the mechanisms of oppression and discrimination as they relate to human development. The range of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds that social workers will practice in is huge. Because of this, social workers must have an understanding of the values and attitudes of a multitude of different cultures as well as an understanding of their own attitudes and
As we enter the new millenium, diversity in the workforce is rapidly increasing. Businesses and organizations are living up to the great melting pot image the United States has always been popular for. Employees now reflect a diversity of cultural perspectives, ethnic backgrounds, ages, genders, physical abilities, and levels of education. This wave of multiculturalism is here to stay and cannot be ignored. It is in need of attention in order to uphold the well-being and success of businesses and organizations all over the country.
When America was founded, it was established on freedom and equality for all people. At first it was just religious freedom, but eventually freedom of speech, press, petition, and more. In time, America began to be known as a “melting pot” of cultures as more and more people came because they wanted this freedom; the more people who came though, the more problems America had. There were too many cultural discrepancies between people, and ultimately America, the country based on freedom and equality, faced challenges concerning diversity.

“As we explore persuasion, we can divide the persuasive communication into three parts: the communicator, the message, and the audience. First, we will deal with what characteristics of persuaders make people more likely to be persuaded. Next, we will think about characteristics of the message that lead people to change. Finally, we will explore what characteristics of the audience can lead them to be persuaded.” (Feenstra, 2011, p. 88) For your assignment this week, provide an in-depth analysis of the three parts of persuasion. Please reference the bullet points below to complete your assignment.

This text of mine has been written using mostly logos, some pathos, and a pinch of ethos. I have split my text up in different segments. In each segment there is a different combination of mostly one or two different persuasive modes. the text is made of seven segments.
Finally, we decided to focus on the design and style of the posters, as well as some of the rhetoric appeals used, rather than talking about the topic itself. Thus, we concluded that our main point would be what we considered to be our strongest aspect of the posters, which we determined was the balance between pathos and logos in the posters. By choosing two posters to display data and facts, and two to display emotion-evoking images and messages, we determined that we provided enough variety of information so that an individual that is either interested in the facts of this topic or that is interested in the morality of this topic could be persuaded to pursue more information on this topic, or even heed our call for advocacy. Although we were met with some issues concerning time and a difference in both topic and design choices, we completed the poster series in a manner we were quite satisfied
Equality permits all students the privilege to have access to and participate in education despite their disability or different conditions. Gravells (2008) believes that 'Disparity and separation ought to be attached to guarantee reasonableness, respectability and regard among learners. '

My group chose to do an advertisement for dust masks. In our project, the money was used for the creation of the advertisement. We all agreed upon making an ad because we were all good at acting and we were all very creative. The purpose of our ad was to persuade people in the North to donate money to the American Red Cross to buy more dust masks. The dust masks would be given to children to prevent dust pneumonia. With the new rise of technology, people went out to see movies. Before the movie, there was always advertisements. Since advertisements were becoming popular in that time, my group decided to make an advertisement in hope that more people would become aware of the Dust Bowl before watching the movie. Sometimes, the movie theater

By the year 2050, nonwhites will represent close to half of the U.S. population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau projections. By 2005, the ethnic minority share of the workforce is expected to grow to 28 percent, up from 18 percent in 1980 and 22 percent in 1990. Although the African American population is now the largest minority group, the Hispanic and Asian populations are growing much faster. In 1994, the African American population was estimated to be 33 million, or 12.7 percent of the total population, up from 11.7 percent in 1980.
