Stalking vs. Harassment
What’s the difference?
What is the difference between Stalking and Harassment? Before finding the difference between the two terms, we need to evaluate their meanings. Though both terms seem to give similar meanings, they have their individual meanings. The term Harassment incases various offensive behaviors of an individual or a group of people towards another person or a group of people. Harassment can be either verbal or physical or could be both. The term Stalking also suggests of being a nuisance towards somebody and in this case also there can be harassing or threatening. In both, we see that the receiver is affected badly and most of the times harassment and stalking are illegal. Let us analyze them in more detail.
Harassing explains a situation where a victim is affected mentally or physically due to an unwanted disturbance or behavior. This offensive behavior can be repetitive and sometimes it persists for a long time. It is said that harassing is intentional and the doer may get pleasure or feels happy after the harassment. Harassing brings discomfort to the victim. Also, in some cases, the harassments are not reported due to social and cultural issues. Mostly, the sexual harassment, that is having sex forcefully without having the consent of one party are not reported or found out. Usually, this happens in workplaces where the victim is unable to tell the truth

Sexual harassment is a demeaning practice, one that constitutes a profound affront to the dignity of the employees forced to endure it. By requiring an employee to contend with unwelcome sexual actions or explicit sexual demands, sexual harassment in the workplace attacks the dignity and self-respect of the victim both as an employee and as a human being. Sexual harassment is well defined as an unwelcome sexual request for sexual favors and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. In many countries, sexual harassment is considered a form of sexual abuse and employment discrimination. Sexual harassment is most prevalent is organizations both professional and academic, though it can occur almost anywhere.
Stalking is a very dangerous form of violence and is more common than people think. As a society we have many different ideas of what the definition of stalking is. There are many different forms of stalking, sure some of them may seem harmless but it is difficult to differentiate harmful situations and acts from harmless situations and acts. The main thing that makes it stalking is it is a form of abuse is that it is unwanted by the victim. Before the paper starts it is going to define stalking, a little history, and some of its forms.
Injustices in this world infect people's lives like diseases. One in particular has not only developed over the years, but cases spring up in the most unthought of places. This injustice commonly known as sexual harassment affects women, children, and occasionally men all across the globe. There are many aspects when it comes to sexual harassment including its background, opposing viewpoints on the popular belief, the popular viewing, sexual harassment in today's society, solutions to the problem, and what the future would be like without this injustice on the world's hands.
Discrimination and harassment can come in different forms, some discrimination could be seen as indirect for example a care worker spending an extra ten minutes with client A because they get on with them better than the next client, client B therefore rushing the client B’s session, while this may seem only minor at the time client B isn’t receiving all of the time they are entitled to and a lower standard of care therefore this would be seen as discrimination and could be sent to court. Most acts however are direct and have more meaning behind them this could be presented in many different form verbal and physical is the most common way delivering harassment and it could be of a race, sex, faith or other difference to discriminate on. However
Harassment is “undesirable behavior identified with an important protected characteristic, which has the reason or impact of damaging an individual's dignity or creating intimidating, threatening, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for that individual".
Sexual harassment in education includes any unwanted and unwelcome sexual behavior that significantly interferes with a student's access to educational opportunities.
Sexual harassment is discrimination that involves any uninvited comments, exploits, or behavior regarding sex, gender, or sexual orientation. If any type of violation is made by a co-worker, a boss, a work acquaintance, or even a non-employee such as a client, vendor, or contractor, this will be considered unlawful sexual harassment within the work environment. Sexual harassment can create a hostile and uneasy work environment. Sexual harassment is an uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical behavior of a sexual nature, especially by a person in authority toward a subordinate, as per the Merriam-Webster dictionary. This behavior is present in a large number in our societies and we can see such situations at many places, from every day workplaces to daily encounters. A person can be harassed in different manners and it has several consequences on the victims. Sexual assault is still a concern in our daily life and has yet to be generally recognized and it should be prevented.

Another form of sexual harassment is a hostile work environment. The hostile environment theory involves sexual advances between the supervisor and the employee. An employee’s work performance will be less effective due to these so-called sexual advances.
