Reasons For Going To College

There are multiple reasons why someone may want to go to college. Whether it’s to pursue their dreams or prove people wrong. I want to go to college because I want to pursue my dream of majoring in mathematics, math is a passion of mine. I can not say fully what I want to do with my life or when I will find out, but I do know that math is something I want to continue studying. Being Hispanic does not give me a good advantage when it comes to colleges, I have to make sure my voice is heard. What is even more complicated is being a first generation college student, my family really can not help because my parents did not go to college. I have to set the example for my younger brother because he is also going to be a first generation college student

Six years after graduating High School, I have finally decided to pursue a college education. Three, fairly common, factors played in to my decision to go back to school: learning new things, building confidence in myself and pursuing my desired career. I understand that graduating college is a difficult task, which is why I must make a plan for my success and stick to it. I must also rely on my personal strengths and my motivation to guide me through the tough times that I am sure to experience on my road to success to get my degree in Criminal Justice. I have always been a person who is eager to learn new things.

My motivations for going to college include many things that include stepping out into a bigger world than just my small hometown, also seeing what other opportunities may await me. Other motivations I have for going to college is to get a higher level of education to help me find a future job and hopefully a future career. College? The one place where many people hardly decide about going to have a better education to start their lives? Why should you go to college? One article published by Holly Epstein Ojalvo, she based her article about Dale J. Stephens who is the founder of “UnCollege.” Stephens made “UnCollege” for individuals to find their own way to success without college. Another news writer Jennifer Ludden, published a different article “Going to College May Cost You, But So Will Skipping It.” Ludden’s article was completely financial. Ludden describes the different between attending college and missing it. Ludden talks about a gap between college and non-college students. How an average college graduate makes about $17,500 per year and that gaps keeps increasing yearly.

I have so many reason why I wanted to attend DCCC and each decision that I make at DCCC is that I’m gonna face it till the very end of my courses. I always wonder how can I get a step further in life and how can I get my stuff done and start early and there was an option that was given to me in my 8th grade year and it was a sign up for an orientation for Yadkin Valley Regional Career Academy a school where you can learn how to start you career and be professional looking/acting when applying for a job that suit you better. I came to Yadkin Valley for orientation where you can check the school out, but I had a little problem I didn’t have my glasses so couldn’t really see how the school look because my eyes were blurry, but I notice that I really didn’t need to see just listen to the teachers and how they talk and communicate and how they tell us what we be learning and discover while we are here at Yadkin Valley and what they have in store for us and then I heard a

You ask, why do I want to attend college? , probably expecting the most common response of a heart to heart sob story coming from a not so fortunate young lady residing in Sanford, Florida. I am not taking that option I like to call the “easy toll” paying everyone a feeling that results in a sign of sympathy. I don’t need sympathy; I wish to just impress anyone just by my intellect ways and showing that I am headstrong. There are a numerous amount of reasons why I would love to attend college but the main three is that it really is the only possible way to become comfortably successful, my ancestors fought for me to even go to school and further my education, and to make the woman that raised me proud.

There might be a time where people ask you, “why are you in college” or “why to decide to go to college.” People might reply by saying that they want a degree, that they want a higher paying job, or they need that for a future career that they are pursuing. Those responses are the most typical reason of why people go to college. Sure you can say that having a degree means that a person can get a better job with better pay rather than working in the manual labor fields with minimum pay. A college degree is the fundamental stepping stone to the future, it lays the foundation of where to start. College is everything to me; I’m in college so I’m able to unlock more potential in myself, to be able to make my mother proud with everything that she has done and hopefully becoming the first.

Why do I want to go to college and why should I go? There are many answers to this question and the most common answer would be “Well I want to go to college so I can have a future” or “I should go to college because I want to make my parents proud”. Again there are different reasons why you should go to college and many people attending college help provides opportunities for graduates which aren’t widespread to those who have not received a higher education. College is an opportunity at pursuing your career and being something that you have always wanted to be.

The main reasons why I chose to go to college was, get better education for myself, be a role model for my children and to earn my degree to get a high paying job.

I would like to attend college because I want to be able to demonstrate not only to myself but to my family that we can do what we set ourselves to do. I would to do go far in this life and accomplish my life goals. Without college, I will not be able to do my goals. My goals are to graduate from college, one day own my own land so that I can own my own agricultural business, and have my home there too, and I want to be a high school Spanish teacher as well. Another reason as to why I want to attend college is that I want to be able to show my little sister that anything is possible, we can do whatever we set ourselves to do, as long we do not give up we will be able to accomplish great things in life. "Why do you want to go to college? " I myself have asked that question so many times. I enrolled on UoPeople to earn a degree, yes to have a better job and furthermore have a better future . But one reason that absolutely made me decide is my sense of fulfillment. I want to achieve something in my life that no one can take away from you, and that is education.
