The land that was chosen for the Airport site was in Adams County but it lacked infrastructure development. This means DIA will need to create that infrastructure like water, power, and sewage disposal. In turn, this will increase DIA project costs. In the case study from Project management: a systems approach to planning, scheduling and controlling, Adams County also negotiated an agreement with DIA but it limited DIA “to such businesses as airline maintenance, cargo, small package delivery, and other such airport-related activities” (Kerzner, 2001, p. 643). The British Airways case study was a very interesting case to read. It proves that not all people can be leaders, especially the chairman, board and chief executives of British European Airways (BEA) and British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC.) According to the case study of British Airways, the life at the “old” British Airways was “bloody awful” (Changing the Culture of British Airways, 1990, p. 1).
Another problem faced by Cathay is the conflict between its management and employees. As mentioned above, the ground crews perceived that the company has negatively affected their concerned working conditions. This conflict may be resulted from poor communication between both parties, lack of openness of the company, and failure to respond to employees needs. It is obvious that Cathay failed to respond to its crews needs. Many ground staff complaint there is an increasing amount of work and overtime works. Cathay, however, did not notice the heavy workload among the staff. Thus, there is felt conflict appears among the affected employees, who have negative emotions, may create hostility, mistrust, and negative interpretation to the company.

British Airways (BA) is a company that encountered several difficulties back in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The poor performances of the organization, was leading the company to failure. BA was offering a service that even though it accomplished the mission of the company, was not providing customer satisfaction. The organization was not taking into consideration the needs of the costumer and was not providing an acceptable customer service experience. “Productivity at BA in the 1970s was strikingly bad, especially in contrast to other leading foreign airlines” (Jick, Peiperl, 2010, p.28). Due to numerous changes, the company increased their revenues and became a respectful and well know organization.
For example, through my involvement in the school and university debate has boosted my confidence in their views and to communicate confidently and clearly among team members and the audience. In addition, preparation in 30 minutes before the debate and the responsibility as a captain of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) debate team has taught me a lot in terms of teamwork through discussions, dividing tasks and make decisions that take into account make a judgment all in shaping the concept and strategy of the team before the game. In addition, communication among technicians is one thing that I practice while working in Unisem (M) Berhad because it is very important that we connect tasks of technicians working in shifts before and after that either through verbal communication or a memo. In addition, my experience as a technician in at normal shifts to test new socket, test board and software provided by the customer for 3 months has much improved the way I communicate with customers of SKYWORK either in terms of verbal and documentation.
