Upon completion of the requirements necessary to finish section one of the Finding Meaning, Joy and Happiness Project, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy tracking my daily habits became. Between the fitness log, eating log, and sleep log, I found it the most tedious to keep up with every workout I did. However, once I got into the mindset of tracking these three areas every day, it became increasingly easier to remember. The genetics/risk taking table also helped me to pinpoint potential risks my family is accustomed to and figure out different precautions I can take to limit my risk.
The first section of this assignment was my Fitness Log, where I kept track of my specific activity for sixteen days, including what I did and how long I did it for. Initially, this log was the most difficult for me to keep track of. I have always been fairly adamant regarding my fitness schedule, so the activity itself was not a challenge. After completing the log, I got to look back and see the pattern of my workouts which helped me to better understand the results. I noticed my workouts consisted heavily of the three areas I enjoy working on the most; cardio, core, and my lower body. There were days that I felt too sore to move, while other days I did not notice much pain at all. The most exciting part of keeping track of my fitness was noticing the progress I continually made, the cardio consistently got easier to finish each time, and the area specific workouts also got less
Have you ever truly sat and considered what makes you truly happy? Often times, people answer directly with the response of money. We say this without deeply considering all that we have to be grateful for. Happiness is not achieved through wealth instead through experiences, the family we love, and the nature that surrounds us, literature has created a great impact upon the ideals we consider to create our happiness.
Honestly the past couple of days, I did not work out. Stayed indoors most of the time completing unfinished work and studying for upcoming tests. However, the reason for not working out is because there is a theory I want to attempt this week. Challenges I faced over the past couple of days were visuals for Marching Band. Okay, there are some people in the world who says that Marching Band ain't a sport. In my opinion, a sport is defined by physical exertion output (endurance), skills, rules, and competition. Though that is just my opinion, others have their own definition of what is considered a sport. Overall, since I have done absolutely nothing for the past week. Adjustments are necessary for the upcoming week. Requiring me to exercise daily and comparing the data I have collected from the past couple of days. The progress that I and Wendy have remarkably benefited us in terms of physical appearance. Our endurance and determination to keep pushing forward have increased exponentially.

In this situation, I learned that I am capable of handling so much more than I think. My behavior post-workout is evidence that my intervention plan works. For every workout that I completed, I felt more motivated to keep going. Every moment of success meant that I needed to push myself so that I stay consistent with my workouts. Both my physical and emotional well-being were elevated because I believed in
The Incompatibility of Happiness and Truth in Brave New World The incompatibility of happiness and truth is an imperative theme in Brave New World, and is clearly illustrated by numerous factors including the civilians' wilful ignorance when it comes to reality and their perception of truth. Apathetic to the continual illusion from the government, citizens are indoctrinated from their inception to believe that attaining happiness and pleasure are superior to knowing the truth. The three main contentions addressed in this essay are as follow; the World State's prioritization of Happiness as a means of control, Predestined Caste System and Hypnopaedia Conditioning, and finally, Self-Delusion through Soma.
Going into this assignment I felt as if it was too much work and I would not enjoy it. That was not the case I loved this assignment and the tasks were extremely beneficial. Some tasks I felt as if they were important such as Coping Strategies and the Eating Log. I also found tasks to be difficult for me like Unplugging myself for twenty four hours as well as communication. My fitness log needs improvement throughout my life.
The book I read was The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. This book was published by HarperCollins Publishers in the year of 2010. It is a non-fiction book that contains 320 pages. This book was about a woman who decided she wanted to increase her happiness. She set resolutions for each month that she thought would help her to achieve happiness and better her mental/emotional, social, and physical health.
The Happiness Project is all about ways on how to find happiness within yourself and your family. This book contains steps that can help you to achieve genuine happiness. Also, it tells the reader that no matter what you do, happiness must come with it. There will be struggles that you will need to face before achieving genuine happiness. It is just a matter of accepting what it is and letting go of the things that holds you back in order to feel the happiness in your life.
Happiness is not a strange term to us. We usually use that word to express our feelings in every day. Additionally, more than a word, “happiness” is what we really need and always seek in life. However, finding and understanding deeply its meaning is not easy. The online dictionary, “vocabulary.com” defines, “Happiness is a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment. When people are successful, or safe, or lucky, they feel happiness.” Thus, we always wonder if we are happy or how could we be happier in our life. Happiness, therefore, becomes a goal for everybody.
There are many perspectives on what makes you truly happy. Some think that being alone in solitude brings true happiness, while others believe it is communicating with nature and then there are those who believe it is flirting with danger that brings true happiness. I personally believe that having good relationships is what makes a person truly happy.
Inspirational and uplifting films with dynamic characters and emotionally charged themes have always been a mainstay at the box-office. High quality drama films are the category of indie films that actually make money. The public has embraced films such as Lost in Translation, Juno, Slum Dog Millionaire, and Little Miss Sunshine. Each of these highly acclaimed motion-pictures are at their roots, strong character driven dramas. Happiness Attainable is such a piece, and deals with many prevalent social issues while retaining threads of romance, adventure and suspense. It also features a feminine protagonist; a valuable asset in attracting a strong female and couple-oriented audience base.
I am starting out in the Initial Stage of my training program, for the week beginning 9/7/15 and ending 9/13/15, I participated in 5 days of physical activity. As stated in my goals, I ran .5 miles, on Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday averaging 10 minutes per half mile. I sprint 20m for the last bit of my run to increase my bpm for 2 minutes, reaching the high intensity zone .On Thursday and Sunday, I conquered Bikram and Restorative hot yoga. To incorporate strength training, on Tuesday and Thursday, I combined a kettle ball, dumbbells, squats, wall sit, push-ups and abdominal repetitions. I included a warm-up and cool-down every day of exercise. I meditated 2 minutes all seven days, to improve my mood and focus. On Thursday, Saturday,
"A library of wisdom, is more precious than all wealth, and all things that are desirable cannot be compared to it." -- Plato
When it comes to Aristotle and his idea of happiness for society, he always thought that happiness was the ultimate goal. In other words, happiness for the man is a self-sufficient goal, it required nothing else. Sure, true happiness can be attained within a society that has common goals and agreed upon virtues because everyone will be an equal, have the same level of education and have justice. However, there are shortcomings and dangers in a society like that, such as human greedy nature, communism could potentially occur, and humans could change the way they potentially feel about their goals and virtues. Finally, there will be difficulties with a society focused exclusively on the individual like the act of selfishness, arrogance and neglect to those surrounding us.
It is common sense that all the human beings would like to live a happy life and they will spare no efforts in order to realize the purpose of really living a happy life in the end. However, different people have different definitions toward what a happy life is and they tend to have different standards as for how a life is that can be regarded as a happy life. There is no doubt that people will then try different means in order to pursue a happy life based on their definition toward what a happy life is. Therefore, the following will talk about the pursuit of a happy life from the perspectives of both Dalai Lama in The Art of Happiness and Viktor E. Frankl in Man’s Searching for Meaning, during which the experiences of some characters from the film Forrest Gump will be applied as evidence. Generally speaking, the pursuit of a happy life in the minds of Dalai Lama and Viktor E. Frankl can be achieved via experiencing sufferings and adversity. It is hoped that this analysis can help people understand what a happy is from a different point of view.
