The case study is about Reggie who was too busy playing games that she finds herself running out of time to read required material and turn in her writing her assignment accordingly. She resorts to finding an essay on the internet and decides to turn in someone else’s ideas. Arnie is her friend who tried hard to read the material to a certain extent, but after realizing she’s lacking the time to make it, she decides to take Reggie’s advice and turns in the same essay with her own introduction and conclusion. Sally, Reggie's academic support counselor, refuses to help her after realizing it was a plagiarism. Professor Lovelit, failed both of the students grading them with an F. She counts on the inability of the University’s capacities to identify someone else’s work. The university has their Code of Conduct and Academic Integrity which obliges every student to abide by them. By not complying with these Codes, students expose themselves to not only poor grades, but even expulsion from the University for using someone else’s ideas without giving them credit. The University’s Codes promote a healthy learning atmosphere for all students providing equal working conditions and respecting everyone’s rights. Every violation of these rights simultaneously entails breaching the Code of Conduct. Reggie violated one of the standards prohibiting any form of plagiarism pursuant to the University Code of Integrity by turning in someone else’s work. Not only did Reggie turn in someone else’s work, but she incited Arnie to do the same advising her to use the essay partially. Arnie and Reggie exposed themselves to having been seen as irresponsible students whose tendency to cheat won over their desire to get a proper
