Research and Christianity: A Biblical Perspective Over the last several weeks, this course has supplied me with a deeper knowledge of how, when, and why research is applied in behavioral studies. The answers to these questions have also provoked me to examine how Christianity and behavioral research can support one another. Specifically, the integration of research and Christianity has led me to believe that every method, type, and step to research leads one closer to the truth, truth that effectuates positive changes to mankind while encouraging a willingness, respect, and discipline to please the Lord in every pursuit. Thus, this case study will reflect on the knowledge that I have gained throughout this course as well as how this knowledge can be supported through a Christian Biblical perspective.
The Importance of Behavioral Research My initial thoughts towards behavioral research did not encompass a complete understanding of its significance. Thus, there was a feeling of ambiguity towards its relevance, especially in the scope of everyday life. However, after reading Chapters 1 and 2 of Methods in Behavioral Research, the necessity for behavioral research became more defined. Specifically, the findings accumulated through research can be applied in various aspects of life, such as aiding mental health professionals in patient care decisions, developing educational programs, and influencing Supreme Court decisions (Cozby & Bates, 2012).
